I brought Viviane in as part of the home inspection process prior to lifting the "home inspection" contingencies during the purchase process. Not only did she find and identify potential problems, she helped to find solutions to them. Having just purchased a new home, and wanting to remodel it, my wife and I turned to Viviane for some professional feng shui advice. One of the things that attracted us was that Viviane was a licensed architect in addition to being skilled in feng shui principles. We set up a three hour appointment, which began with a statement of intention - what we'd like the consultation to support and accomplish for our home and its environment. Then, we had a fruit & flower offering and guided meditation. We made the offering on a small table in the backyard so as not to alarm our new neighbors. :o) Next we checked the external and internal chi flow/spatial arrangement and geomagnetic alignment to the door. It was fascinating to watch her work, asking questions and getting answers via pendulum and divining rod. We walked around the property, and talked about placement of different spaces. She asked the land if any trees should not be moved from their current location. (The answer was no). A source of concern for us was a power pole in the backyard. And so she asked the question, "Will this power pole have any negative health consequences for either my wife or me?" (Answer was no). And then, she asked how close we could get to the power (answer was about 12 inches). The entire experience was utterly fascinating. Though I would not have thought to seek out feng shui assistance on my own, it was an important matter for my wife. And for me, the value in the experience was in just stopping, taking time to breathe, and just meditate on what exactly we are trying to accomplish. No question I came away feeling positive and refreshed. One thing I loved about Viviane is her personal style. It was almost eerie how well she knew my wife (though she was meeting her for the first time that day). Though our focus was clearly on remodeling, she caused us to consider how we are balancing everything in our lives, and how the remodeling could help/hurt that balance. At one point, she also said that it's one of her missions in life to dispel "fear-based feng shui". I really loved that description because I've often heard people say we can't do this or that because of the bad feng shui. Viviane told how many people developed their own feng shui principles, and passed them on from one to another, and so it can be confusing at times to sort out what is really true feng shui. Payment is on a gift-basis, so we wrote a check and put it in a red envelope to give to her. You determine what you wish to give. I would definitely recommend Viviane. We received some information based on feng shui we can now provide our architect, but perhaps even more importantly, we felt a sense of calmness about the project and gained a perspective we would not have otherwise. read more

She came to my home and gave some advice on some energetic changes she thought would help. I've had a fun Shui done in my home mu ltiple times over the last thirteen years and usually the changes are done with movement of furniture, coloring maybe a wall or two, hanging crystals and such....not the case with her services. I felt like this was a waste of time. When she left I wasn't very happy. She wasn't the most patient person either, she actually told me not to answer my phone when it rang, which I felt was rather strange considering she was in my home and just talking about, to me what seemed like nonsense! If I could, I would give Viviane more stars in more colors. I had called Viviane ostensibly to resolve the "flow" of the front of our house and to get a sense if the house, which we were renting, was one we should buy. Viviane came and the least of the valuable information she gave us over the course of the next few hours was what to do about the front entry. Her warmth, her knowledge, her ability to intuit, her keen sense of observation and humor are the gifts she brought to us. I knew that feng shui was about more than rearranging furniture, that it relates to energy patterns but Viviane rearranged the energy patterns for my whole family almost to the cellular level. If you are open to what she has to offer and can be honest with yourself about your thought patterns and tendencies she can articulate where energy is stuck. If reading this makes you shy away and think she comes in with crazy voodoo that's not the case. She truly brings an authentic holistic feng shui practice that is grounded in years of study coupled with an innate ability to distill and apply the information so it's useful and immediate. Viviane is more than a feng shui master and skilled architect and design expert. She is someone who wants to understand the root cause of your concerns/issues or problems first, and help you through them with space clearing, feng shui concepts, practical changes and heartfelt advice. After an initial screening call with me, Viviane accepted the engagement and went out of her way that weekend to meet with us at our home even though she would have to leave a friend's birthday brunch early. She came the next day and was super observant about everything around the house and in our home, but most importantly was super observant and a great listener for us. Before anything, we sat down and had tea and we spoke about our concerns and problems. She asked gentle but incisive questions and allowed us to dig deeper and deeper until we uncovered some root fears and anxieties and why a personal loss in our lives cut so deep. From this work, we made some breakthroughs on a personal level that have been truly remarkable. Viviane then led us in a fruit and flower offering and guided meditation on our back porch. The power I felt in that meditation was incredible and very grounding. We walked throughout our home and as we did, Viviane would give us advice on positioning and what we should change to help with bringing in positive chi flow throughout our home. In areas that were problematic and difficult to move (i.e., a sink directly across from a stove), Viviane gave us practical advice on how to mitigate the negative effects. Room by room, Viviane checked in with her dowsing tool (a pendulum) to see which areas were most conducive for placement of our bed, our chair, etc. She also asked us to sit or lie in areas, close our eyes and check in with our bodies on what felt better and rate our levels of peace and contentedness. In our bedroom, she asked us to meditate again and she again guided us on a visual meditation that was very pleasant and almost spa-like. The results of her consultation were felt immediately. My husband slept well for the first time in almost 6 months. And we really started a healing process and path that we continue to walk for the loss we had in our family. Viviane is incredible. I contacted Viviane Chen several years ago to do a talk on feng shui for my office. Her talk went into such depth, and it was so clear that Viviane was an expert's expert, that she really blew everyone away. Before remodeling our house, I really wanted to get solid advise from Feng Shui consultant so, I called Viviane. I must say that what Viviane provided us last week was beyond a Feng Shui consultation. It's much more to it. After clearing our house last week, my husband and I felt the air of our house is more crisp and clear. We had a chat about one to two hours about life/concerns/goals. Her ability to "see" us and provided "hints" of advises to build up more meaning full/happiness and harmonious energy was one of the best advises I ever received. She pointed out several sections/rooms required immediate improvements.
