I had the opportunity to photograph Deb from Pain Free Posture the other day. I was very impressed…read morewith her. She was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and a joy to work with. I have no doubt that she treats her clients just the same. Deb was very informed, and knowledgeable about different yoga poses, Pilates positions, and alignment exercises. From what I know of Yoga (a beginner) I was amazed at the positions she was able to hold. I am certain that many years of practice and training have gone into getting to where she is today. While in the studio, she started a conversation with someone else there about yoga and alignment. She knew exactly which joints required which type of movement, natural structure and flexibility required to reach some of the positions. I was impressed listening to her explain about the hip joint. The depth she knew was obvious, but she managed to explain in a clear and easy to understand manner what she wanted to say. If this one overheard conversation is any indication of what Deb can teach you, I can see that Deb would be a fabulous teacher, and would be able to help you with any alignment issues you have. I am definitely going to get to her studio myself.

She took me from severe back pain where they told me I had to have surgery to a fully functioning person with minimal pain and that creeps in only when I'm not doing my exercises. I'm not sure if I've written this in my other reviews, but she put me on a course to being a better human being. How you ask? Because the things we do to ourselves (like putting ourselves down, or thinking negatively) contribute to pain and she calls you out on it and helps you to turn it all around. So the combination of this with her body posture knowledge really can get you to the root cause of your issues and resolve them. I know Deb is the best. No one I've met since comes close and the awesome thing is she keeps advancing her knowledge and offering awesome group classes in Foundation Training that really is a game changer, especially when paired with Egoscue exercises as well. I can never say enough good things. If you're in pain, I recommend not solely relying on the doctors and physical therapists. Deb truly can help you greatly reduce or completely eliminate your pain. Give it a chance! You'll be amazed!

The workout was a HIIT version alternating between light/medium weights and cardio. 45 sec on, 15 sec recovery. I felt the right amount of sore afterwards to know I worked hard. I was able to do most activities or at least adjust to one's I could do. The instructor was energetic and motivating. Music was pumping up the class. We even had a well behaved puppy participant. The room was bright and well heated. Really great experience.

While the overall structure of class is the same (sections for upper body, thighs, abs, etc), each instructor brings their own style and moves to class, which keeps it both interesting and challenging! Second, the workout itself is TOUGH but in a good way, and even the most in-shape person is going to find it challenging. But don't let that scare you if you've never done barre! Third, they are welcoming to everyone! My classes so far have been filled with women of all ages and abilities. There's no judgment if you need to take breaks, and the instructors are there to help you if you're not sure how to do a certain move or to help adjust your form. There is plenty of parking, there are cubbies and some lockers available, and they have a small retail area if you're looking to buy workout tops, grippy socks, etc.
