Viva is always a must stop when I'm in the RGV for work. It's worth the drive, trust me. I've actually been sat in the same spot each time I've eaten here, too, which is just fine since it offers the best view of the water. The servers are always polite and helpful. Very attentive also. This last visit I got the blackened fish tacos. They were soooooo good. The papas bravas were super tasty as well. Street corn - 2.5 out of 5, not sure if because we asked for the spicy sauce on the side, could have had more cheese on it. Best thing I had was the Cucumber Martini! The whole restaurant is open air with fans on the bay. 2 level bay deck tables with umbrellas on most. 35 minutes later we got a text and we're seated. Server was amazing. Explained menu and made surey dietary restrictions were met (vegan). The other ordered tons of plates...the best they said was the yellow fin crudo. The roasted brussel sprouts had popcorn shrimpixed in. I think they were unnecessary. The sprouts alone were amazing. Cocktails were great and well balanced...not super sweet. I got the sushi Spicy Roll in my personal opinion it wasn't the best, but that's my preference. I also got the shrimp pasta which was very tasty i would 100% recommend. I love their presentation and their lemonades. very nice restaurant to enjoy with family. Seriously, best food I've had in south padre. I've been going for a while now and don't really ever know where to go and the places I have gone for dinner haven't been that memorable. However, this past time we came across Viva and I saw a lot of great things about the food and service. Plus, the are right on the water so that is a huge plus. We had the corn appetizer was good & a little spicy. I had the shrimp del torre & my partner had the wagyu burger. For dessert we shared the brown butter cake. It was a little dry but still good. Both were phenomenal! I still think about the meal there and wish I could go back again but we live 5 hours away. The service was great I wish I remembered our servers name but he was very kind & great with kids. Let me start by saying the atmosphere of Viva is unquestionably amazing. It's what Got us there in the first place. Having said that the food was quite disappointing. We started with the chips and guacamole appetizer. The guacamole had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I ordered a side of queso, thinking I need something that has flavor with these chips the queso was subpar. Taste it like something to get at the ballpark also had no flavor. I had to Doctor up the guacamole with salt, lime, and chili from the Girl at the bar after I did that it was quite tasty. I must say on a positive note my jalapeño margarita was amazing. But we chose not to eat there because of the disappointing appetizer. I really wanted fish tacos, but I was afraid that they would also follow suit again on a positive note are welcome was positive and the young lady at the front was very welcoming. There was an hour and a half wait but we slipped in at the bar within minutes. We wish this business Well it is a beautiful establishment. My wife and I went here in May 2024 for her birthday and we've both been thinking about going back ever since, even though it's quite a long drive for us. We originally just wanted a good restaurant with a view, and has great food to boot, and we ended up choosing this place. Thankfully we did because the food and atmosphere was fantastic. Our food consisted of a Street Corn appetizer with a red sauce, a Cauliflower Steak, a great shrimp dish called Shrimp De La Corre and some drinks from the bar. The drinks were ok. We were hoping drinks that weren't just the taste of alcohol, since we got Pina Colada, but alas they were. This is the only thing we were a little disappointed at. Everything else was fantastic. I got a Cucumber Martini and the Steak and Frites. The martini was OUT OF THIS WORLD! So refreshing and the tajin rim was a perfect addition, a great drink for the summer!
