They are at walking distance from the light house. We had spent the morning there and in the shops around the lighthouse and they have shrimp tacos special on Tuesdays, which was intriguing enough. They do not have beer on tap, which was not a good start but it is what it is. I got the Mango margarita to try out the drinks menu and it was okish at best with sweet being the overwhelming flavor. For food, we got the The Veracruz , The islander and the chicken alfredo. We asked for Broccoli and bell peppers to be added to the pasta and we are so glad we did because the chicken in the pasta was chewy, uneatable and flavorless. The seafood was quite good but the chicken left a lot to be desired. We asked for the chicken to be replaced which to their credit they did but the replacement wasn't any better. They also added $5 for the veggies for the pasta without mentioning the additional charge upfront. Not impressed. read more

Our all time favorite for 17years! Gorgeous view of Queen Isabella bridge and the Bay. Great, friendly staff! Monday lunch special Almondy is the best meal ever! Tender fish and mashed potatoes covered in three cheese sauce! Add crab claw for fun! Ethan's crab cakes have a divine fish sauce and come with the best garlic bread. Islander on Wednesday is a regular for us as well. Salmon Caesar has a huge piece of Salmon and is enough to feed 2! Don't miss Pelican Station! read more

We had dinner at Pelican Station on our final night in South Padre Island, and all we could say was--why didn't we come here sooner?! From the moment we walked in, the service was welcoming and attentive, and the views were absolutely beautiful. The real standout though? The crab cakes--they were out of this world! Perfectly seasoned, crisp on the outside, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Easily some of the best we've ever had. The menu had a great variety, and everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. We left wishing we had discovered this gem earlier in our 5-night stay--we definitely would have come back more than once. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing, delicious dinner with a coastal vibe. We'll be back next time we're in SPI! read more

Sorry to say after many years of good reviews, but this meal was very ordinary. Decent service saved the day Stuffed jalapeños were bland and room temperature when served. Blackened redfish were overcooked by just a mere 5-6 minutes. Maybe more. Shrimp bisque was probably fresh last week. Can't say for sure. Not impressed Salad was floating in a half gallon of Caesar dressing Disappointed because we used to eat here several times a week. Talking 10-12 yrs (Islanders). We could not believe that after ordering a big meal, we substituted a dinner salad for our side and paid extra for it. The little container of salad dressing is never enough so we said we wanted an extra blue cheese dressing and extra thousand islands for my salad and we were told it would be 50 cents more for each extra container of salad dressing!!! We could not believe this. We had to have it to enjoy our salad so we paid for it and just took $1.00 off the tip because we watched to waiter just go back and grab the 2 containers out of the refrigerator and don't think he had to add that to our bill. We love Pelican station and they have great food. We eat there at least once a week and will continue to do so. We just can't believe Dirty Al Salazar, who owns several restaurants in the area has to charge for an extra salad dressing. read more

Love Pelican Station...our go to place. There at least twice a week. We went at 3pm today for happy hour and appetizers. I ordered my usual, Decoy Chardonnay. My two friends ordered Ranch Water and specified house tequila. Had the Zucchini and Popcorn shrimp appetizers, about 16.00. We all had two drinks each.....my Decoy is 8.00 a glass. We get our bill and it's 99.54. They charged 14.99 for each Ranch Water and we were told they changed the Happy Hour to 4pm today 6 pm. I got home and called and talked to Jennifer, the manager. She confirmed Happy Hour was 3pm today 6pm but she couldn't do anything about our bill, that we should have asked for her at the time. She said she would talk to the server. Fantastic views, bartenders great, very cold beer. Be careful what seafood dish you order. Have been disappointed several times. Most recently, blackened flounder frozen & very under cooked, so it was very watery & soggy. A couple of times, shrimp was freezer burnt. The raw oysters were large but poorly opened, bits of shells & foot not detached. However, the husband's cheeseburger was very good. Go figure, a seafood restaurant that makes a great burger but doesn't know how to cook flounder. read more

Stuffing in flounder is way too spicy, never been spicy before. I ordered the king stuffed flounder, I have had this multiple times in the past 9 years but this time the stuffing that was in the middle of it was very spicy. I was very disappointed in this. if I would have known they changed the stuffing I would not have ordered it. I spoke to the manager about this and she apologized. I will never purchase it again. So be aware of this if you order this expensive plate. Service was great. Our waiter was very very good. Restaurant is clean, bathrooms are clean. read more
