If your afraid of getting an IV, know you will not have to worry hear at the troy NIVA. Plus, the cherry on top is the whole staff is awesome. Great place, I love seeing everyone there.

BUT I also checked with my insurance company prior to my appointment, because at the end of the day the insurance is a contract between me and them, not the provider. If someone is billed for something then that is on them for not checking their benefits. The NP is very thorough and more than just competent. I have some allergies and my IV was personalized to accommodate my intolerance to certain supplements. My veins are crazy, I have Crohn's disease and so much scar tissue from multiple IV placements it can be hard to work with. One poke and done, painless and easy. Being able to access care for my chronic migraines outside of the ER is a game changer. It's quiet, professional, I am seen at my appointment time rather than sitting for hours waiting to be seen. I gave all of my test results to my PCP for my records and she was pleased I found a place for supportive care that is easily available. I won't hesitate to continue my care at Niva Health.

I scheduled an appointment online and showed up yesterday only to be told by the receptionist that…read morecorporate had been updating the website and their scheduling system was messed up, so she didn't see my appointment. I then had to check in and provide all of my information again. The receptionist said they require a questionnaire and a "good faith exam" beforehand and had me scan a QR code. The questionnaire asked me to either schedule or join a visit, and she told me to select "join visit." None of this was explained clearly beforehand. While I was doing this, the environment was extremely loud because there was apparently a networking event happening in the back. It honestly felt more like a social event than a wellness appointment. It was so noisy and chaotic that I almost walked out because it was not relaxing at all. I was eventually taken to the back by someone who never introduced herself or explained her credentials. She told me to sit on a lounger that was literally in the middle of a group of people standing around networking. Then my phone beeped and I realized I had somehow been placed into a telehealth appointment with a provider. No one had explained that the "good faith exam" meant a telehealth call. The provider was asking me personal health questions while I was surrounded by a crowd of people. I could barely hear her over the noise, and it felt extremely uncomfortable discussing medical information in that setting. It honestly felt like a HIPAA violation. After that call ended the same provider from earlier came out with the shot. Again, there was no introduction, no explanation of what was being injected, and no discussion of what I was receiving. I had to lift up my shirt in front of about 20 people so she could access my arm, which was very embarrassing. The injection was done quickly and a bandage was put on without any explanation. When I went to check out, I asked about the 50% first-time discount that was advertised on Facebook. The receptionist told me that promotion didn't apply to their location. I showed her a screenshot that clearly said Troy, and she questioned when it was posted. At that point I was so frustrated I didn't feel like digging through my phone to prove it. I was expecting to pay $50 but was charged $75. When I asked why, she said the "good faith exam" costs $25. I was never told there would be an additional charge for that. Instead of acknowledging the lack of transparency or the overall experience, I was simply told "sorry, it's a one-time fee." Between the scheduling issue, the loud networking event, the lack of introductions or explanations, the privacy concerns during the telehealth visit, being injected without being told what I was receiving, and the unexpected fee, this was an extremely disappointing experience. I would appreciate the owners reaching out to me regarding this situation.
