Love this little market for their natural and quality selections. We come here multiple times every…read moretime we're on Kauai. You can get some awesome things here made with great ingredients! Tried the locally made lilikoi pie and it was very delicious and refreshing with immaculate ingredients. They had a chocolate one too that I wanted to try but didn't get a chance to. Hopefully they have it next year when we're back for our 5th annual trip! They also carry Alexandre Family Farms dairy which is very hard to find on the island. It's the only place I've seen it at on Kauai. We tried a little locally made gourmet truffle that was rich and yummy. They also sell locally made sourdough bread loaves and focaccia that we love! I've visited their location in Koloa and liked it as well. There's always a nice lady checking us out no matter when we go or which location we go to. Thank you to all at Hoku Foods!

The staff typically have a nice attitude, are friendly and efficient! Especially considering this is a favorite spot for some of Kauai's finest parents that allow their unsupervised children to run around and scream all day. Other fruits and nuts can also be found frequenting this store so give the staff some love.

We were very happy to stumble upon the fact that this was a restaurant in addition to a market. We…read morecame twice in three days. We sat on the patio but they call the main dining room however it is outside. The host and the servers were very nice on both days helping us choose our dishes and beverages. The first night were shared the shrimp and unui (sp?) patties. They were tasty and slightly sweet but over-charred and the sauce served with them did not complement them very well. It needed a fresher sauce or something with a little kick The first night I Had the chicken Which is actually a tiny little bird I should've known from the name. - pouisson. It was well cooked, but there was very little meat on all of the bones. And also needed a sauce of some kind. The one baby bok choy was a nice addition. Two of the group had the fish and chips it was made with swordfish that night and was very tasty. However, the chips were slightly limp and not hot. No one wanted to return them, but they really were not very good. One of the other entrées was the veggie bowl with seared Aji tuna and it had quinoa at the bottom with lots of roasted beets and other vegetables. It was a very good dish. The second time I ordered the grilled seafood bowl because that night they were offering Oppa as the grilled fish on the kebabs/skewers that were served on top of the bowl the seafood was cooked, absolutely perfectly, and it had pickled cucumbers, pickled red onions, slightly cooked carrots, and then regular cucumbers on top of lightly dressed soba noodles. It was a very tasty and hearty bowl. We also ordered a kale, beet and blue cheese salad for the table, but what came out was their strange version of Caesar salad, which has chickpeas on it which of course we did not want. It took them quite a while to bring the kale and beet salad to the table, however when they did, it was quite tasty a combination I would not have thought of on my own The first night we ordered the passionfruit cheesecake which had a strange chocolate crust that was too thick and a very light topping of passionfruit. It was fine, but we would not order it again. The whole restaurant is a nice change from all of the really overpriced offerings in the area. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is professional and fun at the same time.

Best poke bowl that I had on Kauai!…read more This restaurant has outdoor seating and also a health-centered grocery store inside. It's in the main Poipu outdoor shopping mall area. We ordered takeout and while waiting for our food, we browsed the grocery aisles and then checked out the surrounding shops. I really enjoyed the Ahi poke bowl. There was this tasty kimchi cucumber on the side with sweet o ions and avocado. The fish was fresh. G got the quinoa and vegetable bowl, topped with roasted chicken. It was a delicious salad with beets, macadamia nuts, kale, and more- and the chicken was nice and moist.
