I'll start with the positives - - the physical structure, appearance, and upkeep of the facility…read moreseems excellent. Also, the residents seem warm and friendly. Having said that, both of my now-deceased parents lived at Village Park for years. I don't know the exact figure, but they spent literally hundreds of thousands of dollars on the place (which, remember, builds no equity; it's 100% rent out-the-door). For the Four Seasons Hotel level of price they are charging, one would expect astonishing customer service, but that simply isn't the case. The accounting statements/invoices were very often wrong (and, big surprise, always in the favor of the company, not the tenants). Customer services with respect to follow-through and keeping pledges is quite poor, and the level of insouciance overall is off-the-charts. I didn't want to slam the place when my parents were alive, but now that they're gone, I wanted to make it known to others you should expect to pay Ritz-Carlton prices for Motel 6 service.

My parents were one of the first to move to Village Park when it opened seven years ago (and were…read moreeven featured in the promotional video). At first, it was a well-run facility, but in the past three years, things have gone off the rails. The business office is a hot mess - I've had to check every monthly invoice carefully and, unfortunately, found many errors over the past three years (always in their favor). Once I pointed out these "mistakes," it would take multiple emails and phone calls to correct them. It's a shame that such a beautiful facility can't run well. Staff turnover is rampant, the food quality has declined, and I don't trust the general manager at all to ensure monthly invoices are correct. If we were to do it all over again, my parents (who both passed away in late 2023) would not go to Village Park. For more details be sure to read my brother Tim's review on Village Park as well.

There is everything to love about Regency Personal Care Home! My mom lived at a larger assisted…read moreliving facility for 2 years in an early memory care neighborhood but began to need added security at night (bed rails/ cameras) due to being a fall risk and better staff: resident ratio for oversight during the day due to her impaired mobility. Zoe, the owner, is incredibly responsive, very in tune with the residents, and communicative with us about anything potentially going on with my mom before I even get there to notice which has been just a huge relief to know someone is actually paying attention to the signs of a UTI or anything else that may be going on. She even takes those that are able out occasionally for salon days! The home is only 5 bedrooms with 2 staff during the day and 1 at night so the resident: staff ratio is better than anywhere I've found and certainly better than any assisted living you will find! For someone with dementia, less is more and by less I just mean - less people, less commotion, less vast spaces than assisted living, but much much better care all in a true home environment. With only 4 caretakers, my mom very quickly became familiar with and felt comfortable and safe around them vs constant rotations at assisted living. She is able to sleep in, bed rails can be provided as needed, security cameras with audible alarms to staff during the night, and just less space to worry about oversight or being out of sight to where someone like my mom is less likely to fall. The home had comfy recliners in bedrooms and living rooms so residents can lounge comfortably which is a luxury over assisted living! Lori, the other owner, is a registered nurse and has been really helpful in streamlining medication management and dietary needs for my mom. I'm sure I'm missing a million good things about Regency but it has truly been a very positive experience to see my mom so well rested, so happy, and putting on a little weight - she looks better than she has in a very long time and I know it's due to the level of care and oversight she receives from everyone at Regency. Shout out to the amazing staff - Shereka, Candy, Diki, And Tefanie! It's like a little family there. I highly recommend if you are considering alternative options for your loved one to check this out especially for dementia care vs a memory care unit at assisted living both due to the level of care and the level of comfort and quality of life for your loved one.

This facility is impeccably clean well maintained. Zoe and her staff were truly unbelievable in the loving care that they gave my wife until her final days. I know my wife loved this home since she expressed this numerous times. and her love for Terri and Donna. Although the entire staff is excellent, I need to especially recognize Terri and Donna who are now are a part of our extended family. During her time there, my family and I were always welcomed with open arms and we all felt like family. For anyone that is in the unfortunate position of placing a loved one into a personal care home, look no further, this is the place! Tony Amorose

But let me tell you, they will not even do the bare minimum that is part of the rental contract because they are always "under-staffed". The weekly cleanings, laundry and sheet changes do not happen regularly if at all! If and when they do clean, it's mediocre at best. The food is inedible. Several occasions they lost our family members medications and spent days trying to locate them while she was left without her diabetic monitors among other crucial medications. And you will be charged a ridiculous amount for a "care plan" and within weeks to months they will do another assessment without any communication and double the monthly care plan, this is how they make their money. Charging lower rent and ridiculous amounts for "care plans" that are bogus and unwarranted. AND, they won't even do the additional items they claim they need assistance with like showering and dressing. and God help your loved one if they push the "panic button" they are given to wear around their neck because they have an emergency, the staff is not coming to help at any type of pace that would be acceptable in a true emergency. I could go on forever about the unscrupulous practices happening in the place. The management team, accounting and care team will not respond to emails and will hide from you in their offices. Absolute incompetence. Stay away, so many other great options in this area of town.

The facility is clean, the staff truly tries. I feel comfortable knowing that my mother is in s good professional environment. There is a schedule that residents seem to like and follow. Breakfast in the morning, lunch at 12, dinner at 5. Also 3 pm coffee hour that is a fun social hour with music playing in the garden area. In terms of activities there is a variety. Mom's favorite is Bingo. Birthday parties which involve relatives planning with the social director are an added plus. Seems my mother has more parties to attend than I do. Plus during holidays, the socials are well planned such as the recent Mother's Day celebration with music and delicious appetizers or Christmas with Secret Santa or Halloween themes. Mass on Fridays is something my mother looks forward to. The residents are nice and well dressed with nice manners. Conservative but friendly and kind. Shylonda - welcomed me and my questions early in her tenure with ATC. You get a definite feeling of warmth and receptivity with Shylonda. She seems eager to help individual family member of the residents in her care. Vanessa - spent time with me explaining how the two outstanding bills will be posted. She was easy to talk with and made clear what I can expect. Weekend staff - Toni as well as the person designated to help Rick that day, and the Sunday wellness staff person were helpful, showing what truly seems a calling for this kind of work. When I left, another staff member (male) went over to talk with Rick, making it easier for me to leave. Dwana - We had a nice talk on Sunday about life in Evergreen in general. It was she who suggested that I notify Shylonda of some housekeeping needs for Rick. I don't know if she, and your other staff, have a real idea how important, how comforting such short talks can be to new family members. It truly matters. Toni - I spent most of my staff time with Toni on Sunday. She could tell I was distressed over the evangelical nature of the activity taking up the full common area (not the learning room closer to the patio), as well as the lack of anywhere else for Rick to be for the approximately 90 minutes they were there. I know she will be reaching out to Stephanie, and I am grateful to her for rescuing Rick and me. When I entered Evergreen in the midst of singing and preaching, Rick said, "You rescued me!" Toni understands that we are not Christian, and she took us out to the patio and encouraged Rick to sing some of our Unitarian Universalist hymns. As you know, memory and music are a pretty amazing pair. I deeply appreciate both the initiative she took, and what, I'm sure, will be her follow up with Stephanie. You and I and your staff will continue to communicate often as Rick continues to adjust to Memory Care. I wanted you to know, after some of the bumps that you've worked out for me, how grateful I am. Sincerely, Paula Watson

The prep and paperwork went very smoothly and efficiently, so she could move in on about two weeks notice. Also, the staff worked closely with her doctor to make sure all the medical forms were completed in a timely manner. And in the brief time my mom has been there, I am overwhelmed with how wonderful and caring the staff is, and how communicative they are - having a very comprehensive orientation meeting where I get to meet all of the staff leadership, and several of the staff initiating calls and texts to let me know how things are going (I live 3000 miles away in California). It gives me incredible peace of mind knowing my mom is in good hands and actually enjoying her days at Arbor Terrace!
