She could easily teach at a corporate level. She was easy to understand and very very through making sure each of our 20 plus students clearly understood her instructions. I appreciated the fact that as some participants were sidetracked using their phones she would gently correct them to give her their undivided attention. It was a BLS instructor course, so I expected a level of professionalism that I have become accustomed to in my healthcare career. That was not at all the case. The day of the "class" (if you can call it that) the instructor is there with sweatpants with holes in them. She gives you the written test first, then takes about 30 minutes to an hour at best to show you how to log in to all the AHA sites. Thats about it. Communication is a struggle, as she seems to never really understand or answer questions properly. Finally through all that, I had an issue with distributing ecards and stated clearly my availability and she rudely ignored that and sent back to back emails, culminating in a hateful and threatening one (at 755am the day I said I would be available again, mind you). She actually had the nerve to call me unprofessional, when that was my immediate and initial impression of her from the start. Luckily I am in a field where I know plenty of instructors who can help me out. I wish I never gave her $400+ dollars assuming that AHA held people to a certain standard and that it was worth the cost to have my cert done quickly, as for me, time was of the essence. I still have no real clue how to order cards (btw she makes profit off of your work at $6.50/card). Stay far far far away if you have any desire to use your license professionally. It would be better to find a healthcare system allignment that is truly professional, will actually teach, and not be quick to fill your inbox with nasty emails.

Beyond that, I now know how to use an array of bandages, how to use a tourniquet, and how to aid those around me until help arrives. I look forward to the Medical 102 class and will take it as soon as it's available.
