When they called to confirm my appointment they told me my appointment was at 11 so I showed up at 11. But when i arrived i was told I was scheduled at 12. Like all seniors in Ventura County my daughter had her senior photos taken here and, yes she looks beautiful but their photo packages are ridiculous and, they aren't anything extraordinary . I asked if I can buy just an 8x10 and, they said no the smallest they did separated was 11x14 for $200.0!!!! that's the price of the cheapest package which does not include an 8x10 but has 24 wallets who needs that many wallets! they wont substitute either, they are certainly not about customer satisfaction. Our schools need to have options not just one place this makes them do as they please. I was going to buy the smallest package however, after reading all the negative reviews I am going to take her somewhere else! parents should do same, maybe this will prompt the school's districts to make a change, read more

I am outraged! It was $41 just for the session fee, and then when you get in there you find out the CHEAPEST pic you can buy is $86 for one 8x10 and if you want a cap and gown pic it's another $86 PLUS a $29 "retouching" fee. So $242 for just TWO pictures??!! Ridiculous. The packages (which hardly include anything) are between $600-$900. I hope this place goes out of business for taking advantage of parents. Take my advice...pay the $22 for the yearbook pic and go somewhere else for senior pics. You can get a great package for $200 from a great photographer in Camarillo. read more

I ordered one 11x14 of my sons graduation photo from a previous year & I was told it would take 10-12 weeks since they had to remove his braces from the photo I paid it in full no problem. Here I am 16 weeks later no photo, they never return calls, so my husband decided to drive there & see what the heck is happening they told him seniors have 1st priority & it will take another 2 weeks, they had no problem taking my $ & telling me 10-12 weeks. I understand that it was a previous years photo, it took them a year to find it in their storage before I could order a photo. They have horrible customer service skills & never return calls when they say they will. I am not surprised they lost OUHSD business! read more

I write this review as I'm sitting outside waiting. Having an appointment means nothing! We arrived and there was a line outside the building with other kids (at least 11) with the exact same appointment time. It's ridiculous. Don't make other plans, as you'll be here over an hour or so. This is a really bad business practice, scheduling so many at the same time. Here is my problem with Visual Photography in Camarillo. 1. They have a MONOPOLY on the high schools in Ventura County. You must use them for your child's high school portrait. 2. Their prices to then purchase pictures of your high schooler are so ridiculously expensive. 3. I wanted (one) 11x14 black-and-white photo of my child. Incompetence is the appropriate word for this place...Unfortunately they hold the monopoly on high school pictures here in Camarillo...they lose payments, don't know where your photos are located and then tell you they'll call (they don't by the way)... DO NOT USE THEM!! I had just moved to Camarillo and didn't know any different.. Adolfo Camarillo HS uses them for the Yearbook but, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE for your senior portraits!! The starting price for the cheapest package is $289 for a couple of 5x7's and some wallets! after paying this ridiculous amount I'm told 12 weeks!! 3 months to get photos in a digital age, when she managed to print my proofs in a couple of minutes when they weren't ready for the appointment we had to view them. They are very rude and they do not care because they have all 7 schools! I will have to re-take my daughters photos so we can have pics for family and her announcements! The worst photography studio I've had to use for school photos. They photo shopped my pictures to look unnatural and creepy. After pressure, agreed to retake those photos. Then lost those retakes. We had to retake those retake pictures. I had to call frequently to inquire about the photos and explain the situation to a new employee each time and got numerous promises for follow up calls within a week each time. They never did. Simple class photos taken at school registration shouldn't be this complicated. It took over 4 months to get our school pictures. Please discourage your school principal from using this studio for class photos. The absolute worst. read more

Started out with me trying to make an appointment for senior portraits. No answer, no call back, several different times. Finally after getting a hold of someone, the employee had the audacity to LIE and say that they tried returning my call. I received no such call back and double checked my caller ID and phone messages. After pictures were taken, they said they would call back and let me know when the proofs were in. AGAIN, no such phone call. I called a month later and of course they were in. Why did no one call and let me know? After paying $21.95 for a sitting fee and viewing 4 awful proofs of poor quality, I am handed a pricing sheet. Sadly, the cheapest package is $189. ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY NINE DOLLARS for a teeny package! Absurd! You can't even buy individual 8x10's or any individuals at all! Two years ago, you were able to buy individuals for a semi-affordable price. Not anymore, folks! They need to compensate somehow for pricey rent on the BLVD. Maybe after only receiving $21.95 per student and no one purchasing their outlandish, greedy priced packages, they will realize how much business they lost. Greed. I am disgusted by Visual Photography and their greediness. So sad for those families of seniors who can't afford the $189 on up packages. I walked in and a woman is screaming at me from her desk in another room asking if I'm here to order or pick up our entire interaction was that, I was never faced until I was brought my order. This place sucks to say the least. Extremely over inflated prices and they don't make any part of the interaction good at all. If I could give 0 stars I would have. This location is closing so my husband and I went in to purchase more of our daughters senior pictures. While viewing the pictures I had called my daughter to see which package we should get. As I hung up the phone one of the employees accused me of taking a picture with my phone of the pictures. Come to find out this very sweet lady was the manager by the name of Catie. I have been in customer service for a very long time and I've never been treated this way. I was so embarrassed of her accusation and for the other employees as well. We did not end up buying any pictures because I did not feel comfortable giving this mean woman any personal information of ours. Upon leaving I asked her who was in charge of her and she said she's it. I told her she should really learn how to speak to people and not be so mean. She gave one of the most insincere apologies that really had no meaning to us. I told her please don't apologize when you don't mean it and then she rolled her eyes and threw up her hands. There is now a rude disorganized nut job running the place who has drastically raised prices and their new photographers appear to have very little training in how to operate the equipment or how to properly position the subject. This place is so disorganized and sloppy. Photographers rush the session and don't try to pose or work withe the seniors. Expected a 2 to 3 week turnaround for proofs, not, more like 2 1/2 months. No phone calls about the delays. Finally a phone call that pictures are ready. Get to the store, and proofs had not been printed. Had to leave without seeing them. Bottom line was this business has a ton of employees running around doing nothing. We finally were able to select the best photo for my daughter's yearbook picture, but did not purchase any additional photos. Visual lost out on a hefty sale. I don't like writing bad reviews but Visual photography is terrible! Twice they lost my son's senior picture proofs. When I went to look at the proofs they had misplaced them so I said I'd come back next week . I called ahead and they said they reprinted them but when I got there somehow they couldn't find them. I was so annoyed and the woman was very rude. Long story short I got a hand full of pictures for $499. I would never use them again. You have to use them for the year book picture only. This company did not delivery many of the high school photos for school year 2016. I have tried all year to get my sons school photo with no results. Each time I call I right down the conversation with promises that I will get his photos but it never happens. They are crooks. They cash your check with no intention of delivering. I assume they are going out of business and planned to cash everyone's checks before they close. I just read "Norma W." review and she had the exact same experienced. I have twins and they have been waiting for their senior pics for the whole school year. Which school ends this Friday and I STILL DON'T HAVE THEIR PICTURES!!!. The prices are INSANE!!!! no discounts and the customer service is a JOKE!!! We were scheduled to take their pics at a certain time and so was half of the county apparently. We waited in the heat of summer for two hours and their make up was starting to disappear (which was pricey, too) and their hair getting flat. Tons of people waiting and complaining and I don't think it's just ONE PERSON'S fault. They need to be better organized and they need to fix that ASAP. I didn't get the senior announcements because they are way too expensive and again, I have twins, and no discounts given. So we purchased the cheapest package of 1 8X10, 1 5X7 and 10 wallets (I'm not sure on the number of wallets) but that was $200.00 EACH... very expensive and I still don't have the pictures and they have not called me back and have not mailed me anything letting me know. I think they need more people or maybe more people and a bigger studio, too. waiting outside was a bit harsh considering that last summer we had record temperatures of heat here. Visual used to be great when I was in high school. I see that visual reported the loss of a person and I really am sorry about that, but if one person did all of that planning, and now it's fallen apart, you should really get someone in there who has experience with appointment setting. read more

It took fourteen (14) weeks to get my second daughter's graduation pics. I called a couple of times to check on the status as they did state it could take up to twelve (12) weeks for the pics to come in. I expected it would be sooner as my first daughter's pics came in within a couple of weeks after our selection. When twelve weeks came and went I called for a status and was told someone would check in to it and call me back. After a week of no response, no phone calls I went in and was told the owner would call me back as soon as she was back in the office. They stated the photos should have been in long ago and didn't understand what the problem might be. When no phone call was returned I called again numerous times and spoke with several people all offered a callback from the owner or her back-up person. I never received a call from either one so I went in to the studio. The owner was still not available but was told my photos would be in before 5pm. I spoke with the person at the counter and emotionally stated, "why couldn't someone have called to tell me this". I asked why is the owner afraid or reluctant to speak with me; I got no explanations only apologies. I finally received my photos and asked for a full refund after this fiasco and I got my full refund and my photos. This business owner needs help with their Customer Service as it is severely lacking. She does not seem to care enough about her business otherwise this would not continue to happen. The schools need to start looking at other Photography Studios for future considerations so people can at least have a choice. This business will not last if they don't start reacting and responding to their clientele in a professional appropriate manner. read more

The woman who "helped" us there gave me attitude and used a tone of voice that made me see red...that's my hot button, anyway. Visual photography people should call us when our pictures are ready, but we waited and no phone call. Then call us in the middle of the holidays, told us that the pictures are ready last dec 4th? What's the date today? Dec 30th. Told us, if we don't Pick up the pictures within 30 days which I guess 5 days from now, they will charge us a late fee. what????? We are never informed that the pictures are ready on the 4th!! Do u do this in purpose so your clients will pay extra?! So disappointed! You should call us when the pictures are ready. This has got to be the worst photography company I have ever had to deal with. The new owner, Tara Howard, is the most disorganized, defensive, and defamatory person I have ever met. While I am sure the photos are fine, the business never answers their phone and when they do, they are hurried and hang up before you can get your questions answered. They don't honor the appointment provided and instead have you waiting for hours. Our friend spent money on her daughter's hair and make-up, only to tell her after two hours that they couldn't get to her that day. We were given a day and time when pictures would be done and ready for pick-up, but that wasn't the case. Instead, we didn't hear back for 11 weeks! I can't believe how much the business has changed. Our neighbors relay wonderful reviews of when the previous owner was there, but this new owner does not have her act together and it's a total frustrating and inconvenient experience for a working with teenage and young children. read more
