It was an easy back in and we leveled up quick and this is a very private site only because it's at the end of the row and you're looking out over the water. It's very quiet here which we really liked and our side is also not far from the laundry And bathrooms, but not too close that's annoying. We found the Wi-Fi was excellent and we really didn't have any problems with it at all. The staff in the office were great and told us exactly where our site was and gave us a map. From our site you can be walking straight out onto The view of Fundy and it is stunning. There are paths that take you to Hopewell that take an hour to walk or you can just do the quick jaunt around the local ponds on a walk. Hopewell is less than 10 minutes by car. I highly recommend this place. It's not expensive. It's a simple campground with a small pool, but it's very quiet and close to local towns.

The campground roads are gravel, packed dirt and campsites are either gravel or grass. Some sites are shaded while most are open. Campground has their own small lake for fishing or boating for kayaking or canoeing. RV sites are full hook up (W/S/E), tent sites are dry camping. We arrived during "low season" and we given a site overlooking the marsh and Chocolate River. We asked if it was a back in or pull in, woman at desk admitted she was new and didn't know. We were not offered an escort to our site. When we got there, the site was a pull-in and not to our liking. There were 9 or 10 other RVers in the immediate area, several with dogs off leash (we are dog people, but when they say, dogs on lead, we obey). We went back towards the office and saw the pull-thru sites were empty so we pulled in to one and walked to the office to see if we could take that site instead. Same price so no problem swapping. So glad we did because when we went for a walk that evening, there was all sorts of noise from the other section of the campground they wanted to put us in first (noise = loud talking + radios + barking dogs + kids playing). We only stayed 1 night as this was a halfway point on our planned travels. We wanted to see Hopewell Rocks at high & low tides and accomplished that. Restrooms are clean, 4 showers are accessed by individual doors at other end of building so anyone can use it. Laundry room in in central portion of the restroom building. They offer rustic bathrooms in the tenting area (out-houses). We stayed here in a fifth wheel and would return again if our travels brought us this way.

Every single meal we had was delicious, prepared with love, & had high quality ingredients that were grown on the grounds. But my *favorite* part of the experience was our sweet server Wiktoria who was really just the best. She was the only server & she ran the restaurant impeccably. It was so refreshing to see such a hard worker who could maintain their cool & still be so kind. Thank you Wiktoria & everyone there for making my birthday trip that much more memorable. We miss the strawberry rhubarb pie immensely lol

I am allergic to mold and sure enough we were put on the bottom floor facing the pool and river so there was a dehumidifier running in the room and there was mold in the room. As a result I became sick a couple of days later. I should have known better and asked for a different room but did not expect anything would be done about it. He just looks at you and smiles. Then the breakfast was unpleasant and the coffee not very good. Bring your own. Also we had really hoped to go for a swim in the morning before visiting Hopewell rocks and the pool was green with algae. Apparently he turns it off at night and he did not have it cleaned by morning which would require the addition of chemicals at this point due to the algae. So no pool. Very disappointing. Do NOT recommend. Also the price was high!

Beautiful spot and perfectly situated to Hopewell rocks park. My first stop in the east cost - and while I was tired from getting there at 3:00 am, I had an amazing sleep, liked the room a lot (even on the next morning) and the owner was really nice. Breakfast included but was kind of crappy - but still appreciated. Coffee was good and it was a quick pick me up to start my journey through the east coast. I would return again and would definitely recommend staying here. Decent price, REALLY awesome staff/owner, good rooms, beautiful views and great location. Perfect. Thank you for the great night stay.

I have been returning to the Advocate Harbour area annually for more than 25 years, and I always…read morestay at the Reid's Tourist Home. The accommodations on offer have evolved over the years, and currently consist of two completely furnished 2-bedroom cottages, as well as four two-person apartments. Donna and Charles Reid are gracious and knowledgeable hosts, and the accommodations are always very clean and in fine condition. My favourite is the Bay Vista Cottage. On my most recent visit, through a weekend in June 2014, things could not have gone more smoothly, and we were able to use the cottage as a base to explore many of the numerous nearby attractions -- Advocate Beach, Advocate Harbour, Cape d'Or, Cape Chignecto Wilderness Park, and Spencer's Island. And we had two lovely meals at the nearby Wild Caraway Restaurant, one of the finest in Atlantic Canada. Highly recommended.
