I'm filing a chargeback if they don't change course by the end of day Wednesday. With the video evidence I have, I'm 110% certain they won't keep my money. Wow... Like anything…read morewithin the Fundy area, watch the tides and weather.... I lucked out and it was clear.... STUNNING. Price is great to get in $4 plus tax, and you get two days in.. high tide and low tide. you need to see this during both tides, what a change in scenery! This place is fairly accessible to all. There are two place wheelchairs can't get to, the light house point and the beach... The climb down the stairs to the beach is steep... I got there a few hours before high tide and got some great shots and hung around for high tide... more great pictures! There is a little restaurant. I didn't venture in so I can't tell you much except it was there. Many, including myself carried our own picnic lunches in. There is also a Zip-line and climbing/repealling area. There was a group there for the Zip-line, they seemed to be enjoying themselves greatly. The beach floor is very rocky and unstable... be prepared for this if you are going to go down! This is a must see. It is a bit in the middle of somewhere... between Fundy National and Hopewell. Worth the off course drive... Staff was great and mentioned some other places to see on my way to Hopewell Rocks. Plenty of parking... they even have space for large campers and those who are towing. Worth the day here and then some...

However, the treatment we received from Mel at the Maplegrove Inn was the most irrational and disrespectful lodging experience I have ever had. My friend booked the room. On the day of arrival, I called ahead to ask for dinner recommendations since we were arriving at 7:30 PM and local spots closed at 8 PM. Mel answered and immediately became hostile about us missing the 7 PM check-in cut-off. I politely offered to have her leave a key under a rock, but she refused, aggressively stating they must meet every guest. She grudgingly agreed to stay until 7:30 PM. To save time, my friend dropped me off at a nearby restaurant to grab food (I was 6 months pregnant & hungry) and went ahead to check in. When Mel realized I wasn't at the check-in, she became livid. When my friend explained I was grabbing food because I was pregnant, Mel snapped, "Stay somewhere else, I'll just refund you." This was an incredibly stressful and unsafe situation on a peak summer Sat night in a tiny town with no other lodging options available. My friend returned to pick me up, and we assessed our options. Finding nowhere else to stay, we reluctantly returned to the Maplegrove. I swallowed my pride, walked in with a smile, and introduced myself. Mel had cooled off, offered a brief apology, said she'd thought I was being "entitled and inconsiderate" of her business hours, and handed us over to Kate, who was lovely and settled us in. The rest of our one-night stay was physically comfortable, but entirely ruined by the extreme stress of the arrival. For Management: my friend got 1 confirmation email sent to us two months prior, which buries the 3-7 PM check-in time without highlighting it (see screenshot). It also instructs guests to call if they need alternate accommodations--which we did, only to be met with hostility and an attempted eviction. While Kate was professional, I cannot recommend the Maplegrove Inn. Your stay is entirely at the mercy of highly mercurial innkeeper Mel.

Sonya was fine with us checking in early, a request I made via email. Her home is very clean and spacious. While she collects antiques, there was nothing old and stuffy about the decor. A nice common area with a drink fridge was a good touch. Our room, the Silver Maple was very comfortable with a queen bed and a twin bed. I slept well even though the mattress was a bit stiff. I am not always a fan of the claw-foot tub because it can be awkward, but ours was outfitted with a nice shower curtain and a shelf for soaps. Hot water was in abundance as well as water pressure. The bath had a fan and was newly redone. All in all very, very nice. No air conditioning, but not needed when we were there. A fan was provided and that worked just fine. Breakfast choices were fairly extensive, but I chose a light breakfast which was essentially granola and yogurt with fruit. The fruit was deliciously fresh, very good variety. My mother chose a somewhat pedestrian vacationer's breakfast which was eggs and bacon. I think I would have opted for the strawberry french toast or the intriguing fruit omelet, but I was trying to 'be good.' The Maple Grove Inn is located a in the small but very quaint historic village of Riverside-Albert. Sonya is a first-time innkeeper and you would never know it! I can't believe they just opened. I am sure it will only continue to evolve and grow, but it was perfect as it was. Go and support Sonya and Jeff in their new venture.

Gord and I checked out Hopewell Rocks on Thursday afternoon. The famous Flowerpot Rocks were carved…read moreout over thousands of years by the massive tides in the Bay of Fundy. At low tide, you can walk right out onto the ocean floor, which we did) and explore around the giant rock formations. Then the tide comes back in and the whole place looks completely different. At high tide, the water around the rocks can be 30-50 feet deep. You can be walking on the ocean floor one minute and looking at several metres of water covering the same spot a few hours later. Fun experience! It's about a km walk to get to the stairs to the ocean through the woods (it's a nice walk). You can also take a $2 shuttle. We walked to the stairs, walked around the ocean floor and took the shuttle back to the info centre.

To get to the beach, you have to walk down (and up) like 5 flights of stairs. You can either walk…read morea bit downhill (15 minutes) to the stairs or take a shuttle for an additional fee. Given the stairs, I would suggest the shuttle. There are two lookout points above to see the rocks instead, one by the stairs and one that veers off before the path down to the stairs. We went at low tide and enjoyed seeing the rocks up close.

I knew only that the nearby town Alma is known for its extreme tides. As mosquitos descended upon us, I fully expected to have a crappy time. This was not the case! Fundy is AWESOME. Between the incredible staff, the non-stop educational programs for all ages (we indulged in a fun sing-a-long campfire where hot chocolate was served, a moonlit guided kayak tour, numerous hikes and beach walks, etc) and the well-maintained trails, this is one of the most incredible parks I've ever visited. It has outshined every park I've been to in the US. It's tucked away in true wilderness, the kind of which I've never seen before, not even in Alaska. Miles and miles of open space. It was very green, and the air smelled sweet. And every sign was bilingual, which is exciting for a francophile like me! But it got even more exciting for me: In the national park gift shop, they had two books I illustrated!! I could not believe having traveled all that way and then seeing my own work in the gift shop, that was the coolest!! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Fundy's lush waterfalls, excitable bats, cartoonish bullfrogs, abundant wildflowers, fresh air, approachable and friendly interpreters, educational programs, wonderful trails, views and serenity. I'm glad we made the trip! Thank you to all the interpreters of Fundy, especially Pat, for making our trip extraordinary!

Our experience at Ponderosa Pines has been excellent. Our site was clean and well kept in the fire…read morepit was cleaned out. It was an easy back in and we leveled up quick and this is a very private site only because it's at the end of the row and you're looking out over the water. It's very quiet here which we really liked and our side is also not far from the laundry And bathrooms, but not too close that's annoying. We found the Wi-Fi was excellent and we really didn't have any problems with it at all. The staff in the office were great and told us exactly where our site was and gave us a map. From our site you can be walking straight out onto The view of Fundy and it is stunning. There are paths that take you to Hopewell that take an hour to walk or you can just do the quick jaunt around the local ponds on a walk. Hopewell is less than 10 minutes by car. I highly recommend this place. It's not expensive. It's a simple campground with a small pool, but it's very quiet and close to local towns.

Ponderosa Pines is a nice campground located very close to the World Famous Hopewell Rocks. They…read moreoffer campsites for RVers and tenters as well as having a few rental properties. The campground roads are gravel, packed dirt and campsites are either gravel or grass. Some sites are shaded while most are open. Campground has their own small lake for fishing or boating for kayaking or canoeing. RV sites are full hook up (W/S/E), tent sites are dry camping. We arrived during "low season" and we given a site overlooking the marsh and Chocolate River. We asked if it was a back in or pull in, woman at desk admitted she was new and didn't know. We were not offered an escort to our site. When we got there, the site was a pull-in and not to our liking. There were 9 or 10 other RVers in the immediate area, several with dogs off leash (we are dog people, but when they say, dogs on lead, we obey). We went back towards the office and saw the pull-thru sites were empty so we pulled in to one and walked to the office to see if we could take that site instead. Same price so no problem swapping. So glad we did because when we went for a walk that evening, there was all sorts of noise from the other section of the campground they wanted to put us in first (noise = loud talking + radios + barking dogs + kids playing). We only stayed 1 night as this was a halfway point on our planned travels. We wanted to see Hopewell Rocks at high & low tides and accomplished that. Restrooms are clean, 4 showers are accessed by individual doors at other end of building so anyone can use it. Laundry room in in central portion of the restroom building. They offer rustic bathrooms in the tenting area (out-houses). We stayed here in a fifth wheel and would return again if our travels brought us this way.
