This review is based on our experience in the KOA Cavendish for 2 days in the month of July…read more When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly staff and were assigned a campground. We also received access codes for the free WiFi, which you need one per device, more on that later. Unfortunately we later discovered that the sites were very small, so small that you had to share your electricity and water access points with your neighbor, and that your RV is directly in front someone else's RV. There are many activities for the children, which include a free hot dog roast on Sunday and daily hayrides, and the small but surprisingly deep pool (3m) was also semi-heated. The major letdown of this campground was the WiFi. It is available everywhere but is so slow (0.46 down, 0.01 up) that it is unusable. I couldn't fetch my email or do anything, really. The WiFi near the offices was much better, but still not acceptable for the price of a KOA.

Some of the rooms have been renovated, and they are really nicely done. I would recommend them. They are our first choice when making a reservation. The motel is run by Myles Clark and his father Doug who are very nice and very good innkeepers. It is located on Water Street, the main street of Summerside, about 30 minutes from the Confederation Bridge. When we get there, we hop on our bikes and go for a ride along the waterfront in Summerside. In the fall they served muffins, toast, juice, milk and coffee for breakfast. It is worth noting this motel is number one on Trip Advisor for all of PEI. The friendly and professional owners ensure that you are well taken care of throughout your stay. I look forward to returning for another visit to Clark's Sunny Isle. Learn more at http://www.sunnyislemotel.com/

The main issue we had was that the room (double with two beds) was small and cramped. I would recommend getting a suite if you are traveling with two people with luggage. We could barely find places to put our suitcases. Parking is free and the parking lot is behind the hotel but it is very cramped and when we arrived it was 100% full. If I did not have a handicap placard I would not have been able to park at all. Not sure what we would have done. Also, the parking lot has signs on every space with instructions to pay to park there. Hotel staff did not inform me of this and it was very confusing because they had told me parking was free. Other than that, no problems. They do have a restaurant which was excellent. They do not have room service but a server brought our dinner up to us one night. I offered to go down and pick it up but he insisted. I thought that was nice.

I had to take a photo for my grandkids of my hand using an actual brass key to open the hotel room door. The wooden transoms (no longer in use) over the doors added to the feeling of times gone by. The bathroom was tiny, but acceptable considering the age of the hotel. The bed was quite comfortable. This location is within easy walking distance of downtown and the wharf. This facility has an indoor pool in the lower level and a restaurant on the premises. The hot breakfast each morning was very good: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, fruit, pastries, juices. We arrived just as two tour buses rolled in. The staff was very busy, but were friendly, not flustered, and kept things rolling smoothly during the semi-chaos.
