I have been shopping at Vista Pawn since I was a child. My parents and grandparents also shopped at Vista Pawn, as do my children. That is FOUR generations of customers. Recently, the family was there and the employees were chatting about wanting to 'kill Mexicans'. It was truly upsetting. I emailed the company's ownership and got no reply. It appears the company culture supports and shrugs off employees spouting hateful, racist, and violent sentiment. As a family (in Idaho since the 1850's) we have VERY different values. I spoke to the manager Erin and I tried returning two items for my is an Xbox Xbox and nothing was wrong with it. I just bought it three days ago and then he wanna give me my full return when I was told that a worker told me that I can return it within seven days. but now they're saying it's 24 hours to return it that is bullshit. And on top of that they called me a liar. Their employees don't know what they are saying. i spent close to 40 bucks and only got back 12 bucks. and I told the manager that im Just going to give you a bad review and the manger said well "I'm sorry you feel that way" such a fake apology. Interesting little (not so little) place. If you are in the market for... well... anything, check here first. They have a little bit of new, little bit of used, little bit of interesting. You can find musical instruments, sound systems, fans, sports equipment, yard tools and machines, camping gear, jewelry, bikes, kitchen appliances, tools... The place is pretty grungy but not scary grungy. Prices are visible so you don't have to go searching so they are pretty organized. Some isles have heaps of odds and ends, while others have only a few things. (The golf section is heaped with goodies!) I didn't deal with anyone since I popped in to just take a look, so I can't speak to customer service but selection of merchandise is fun to look at. Parking was ok for me but I can see it getting messy in there. The parking lot is compact and right on Vista so watch for cars zooming in and out of the parking lot. Huge selection of everything. The last couple months I think they have done a better job or removing items that are fully worthless and starting keeping the stock more fresh. Truth is yesterday I visited vista pawn to just gain some idea about some gold jewelry I recently aquire. I also took an 18k white gold necklace and beautiful piece also 18k with some si1 bright white real diamonds. Something I've had appraised by Hendricks fine jewelry that is valued at $1800,00 combined. So I asked what it was worth first and was up front that I wasn't interested in selling just seeking a worth value. The guy after consulting with his most knowledgeable on duty came back saying it was 14k plate. I informed him it's stamped on the necklace and the piece 18k and been gone over in great detail and has an appraisal value of $1800.00 The fact that Hendricks stakes there reputation on the paperwork they gave me with the appraisal, and they are professional jewelers doing business for more years than I can say, 30 or more I guess. I actually expect pawn stores to beat me down, but it really seems to me had I shifted gears and wound up making some pawn deal, I think it would be criminal on their part. And I really wonder how many people they have scammed out of some real jewelry by saying it wasn't real or hardly worth anything? I have met a few nice people working there, but it's the ones like this who get my goat taking advantage of people usually in vulnerable positions needing cash, weather for drugs, or bills. It's criminal no matter what they use the money for. I also know they deal with scum bags that steal what they are trying to pawn. But I really would like to know they could be held accountable when they attempt criminal acts like they did. Makes them no better than the scum bag thief pawning stolen items! Sucks!
