I have been a customer here for years. I have taken loans on my high end gaming pc as well as other items several times...long story short, theyve made money off of me.
So, while my high end gaming pc is in pawn with these guys, I decide to get a laptop to get me by until I can get my pc back out which will be around 700.00. This is where my nightmare begins.
I stop in to browse laptops, its hell to get any assistance but when I finally do I get a slow brained employee who cant answer simple questions about computers so instead he makes stuff up ( clearly). Suspiciously, he keeps pushing a 140.00 laptop at me even though I have shown lots of interest in a 180.00 dollar laptop...
I check it out, it seems to be fine. it has a users profile on it and i ask if he can wipe it. He gets a litle smart with me and says " As I said, we wipe them before we put them on the floor". Hmm...well thats weird dude because you havent mentioned that before and because I could clearly see it said "Sarah's computer" and it has all her documents still on it. whatever, i figure ill wipe it myself. I get it home, first thing I notice is a chip in the screen, its small and only a temporary computer so whatever. Plus, I didnt notice it at the shop so its my fault. I connect to my wifi and try to get on internet explorer, its homepage is set to yahoo.com and it wont load. I attempt to go to google, i get errors. I attempt bing.com which works, but whenever I search for something, it will show search results, but I cannot open any webpages. The computer is running super slow/ freezy as well. I was told I had 7 days to bring it back if there are any problems, Back I go. I get there and ask them to wipe the damn laptop, and make the internet work.
The guy plays with the laptop for 15 or 20 minutes, basically running into all the problems I just explained to him for the past 10 minutes.... he says internet explorer just doesnt like Google, even his 1800 dollar computer at home does the same thing . Im not an idiot, internet explorer works fine with google, always has. He notices the battery is low, he attributes that to why the Pc is running slow. He must really think I am stupid, battery life does not effect the speed of the pc.
He decides to install windows 10 because windows 8 is the reason for all the problems all of a sudden, not the other BS he just told me.... im still being passive at this point so I agree. He tries to start the download but it wont work, he tells me to try to download chrome or firefox as a browser,,,,, he must have just forgot that the computer is not allowing me to open any webpages, he walks away to help another customer.
He is literally, LITERALLY helping another customer look at laptops for 25 minutes. I am not exaggerating for effect. Now, normally I wouldnt care except 1- the customer didnt want help yet. He stood and stared silently at the customer for 5 minutes at a time while the customer looked at items,,,, the other 2 employees & manager were in the backroom laughing and joking while I sat at the counter...they peeked through the windows from the back room several times but didnt care to help me.
Okay, here is where it gets bad. The customer doesnt buy anything, the employee comes back over to me and says " What brings you in today?" ....Dude....is this a hidden camera TV show? Wow. I smiled because I couldnt believe he literally forgot that he was in the middle of helping me with the laptop he just sold me 2 hours prior when he walked off to help the other guy. It was surreal.
I decide to look at other laptops as he cannot solve the issue and they will not give me a cash refund?????? i pick one that is 180. Another rep takes over, pulls out the new laptop I want and gets ready to exchange the old one for this one. He has to take it back to his manager who is still playing touch pee pee in the back room, why? I dont know! I want to exchange it, you sold me a laptop that wasnt wiped and is slow as molasses with internet security issues but your manager needs to look at it now too for 25 minutes like all of you have taken turns doing????????? FINE. At least I know for all the time I have spent in at this point Ill get a discount. ( SPOILER--- They refused to ).
He is back there for almost 20 minutes, comes back out and tells me he can exchange it, BUT, this new laptop wont have the 7 day return policy like this one did. Why??? He says " well, these are older computers and just because theyre slow, doesnt mean theyre broken."
That wasnt even the reason I brought it in...wow. whatever. He also questions me about having a current loan on a computer but buying another one......he questions me like a detective. I explain I need a temporary 180.00 laptop until I can afford to pay 700.00 for my gaming pc. I am leaving so much out for times sake, I cannot believe how poorly I was treated. I am literally in awe right now..... Never again. Worst experience EVER! read more
