I was told i would be paid what i was making at my old job, so i quit, after working out my notice,…read moreworking both places full time. I got paid and its not close to what i was promised. .they came in one day and fired the administrator and wont keep any agreements made by her. Keep telling me she gave me the pay without approval. They tell me im an asset to the company, and in the same breath take house manager from me and want to cut my pay more. So i find another job and give my notice, the next day after letting me work all day and go home, they have the acting administrator call and terminate me for no reason. They hired people back that had quit with no notice. I tried calling the accoutant many times with no response.about my pay. I went in and pulled expired meds from the med cart, tried my best to help everywhere i could. No appreciation at all. They hire at low pay and expect you to work hard. The med techs are taught on the home and checked off by a nurse then turned loose. Some of the meds i pulled had been expired since 2012. Thay have a double standard if you just go with the flow, they keep you, if you try to make it better they get rid of you. They didnt have any training the 2 months i was there. I would not place anyone there. The caregivers dont have to have healthcare experience. I was there for 2 months and no write ups or warnings, fired for i think retalation. They had no reason other than they said i might not complete my 2 week notice. Residents get hurt and caregivers treat them. Because theres not a nurse on property all the time. The food is so bad i wouldnt feed it to my family. Its not the fault of the cook, its the budget he has to work with.they want to cut staff because of census, so short that it can be dangerous. Ive seen residents fall and get hurt, the nurse didnt check on her until the next day, and by that i mean, just looked at the dressing a caregiver applied, it didnt even get changed, and no injury report was done until the lady ended up in the hospital for other reasons. One of the med techs is an alcoholic, comes to work bragging about how hes still drunk from last night. The staff on the locked unit, will play a movie over and over, they play around with each other and let the residents do for them self. 1 resident knocked another residents dentures out of his mouth, nothing was done to the agressor. When i left he was still there. Take a good look at that place before considering it for your family. While i was there 3 residents left, due to lack of care.

The staff is so caring and treats your family just like they would their own. I highly recommend New Haven for anyone's loved one as this community has a big heart and you can tell they all love their job.

Our elderly mother was needing some assistance at home. We contacted Touching Hearts and they were…read moreable to help right away. The caregivers have been great, very compassionate and attentive. They not only help with light housekeeping, but also provide companionship. The scheduling staff work with us to fit our needs and have been very flexible. We are so fortunate to have Touching Hearts to help bridge the gap between what we can provide and what our mother needs!

They are not a friendly place to work for, I was hired as scheduling coordinator. I worked just…read moreover a week and was let go, they brought in a caregiver for the same position I was hired for. The day before they let me go, that caregiver and the manager were making jokes about my deafness, I am deaf not blind! When I see someone laughing at my expense, it's hurtful! But before i left they were on and off the phone all day gossiping about another caregiver that was terminated for theft of a client. So I filled that caregivers position the next day, from 7AM to 3PM. At 7:45AM a caregiver told me someone was on their way to relieve me and I was not asked, I was told to leave that client's apt# and go to another client's home for service from 9AM to 5PM. I explained that beings I knew I was finished at 3PM I made plans with my daughter at 4PM and wasn't able to work for the other client. So they scheduled me anyway, and then called me back and said they were sending another caregiver to relieve me and I would be on call for the office beings the Manager was going to be in and out all day. I get a call from the manager close to 3PM saying they're terminated me because I left early. I left at 4:55PM, I asked if the manager or the other scheduling coordinator/ caregiver needed anything else before I left, they said no and the manager said I will see you Monday. I said ok I'll call if I have any questions, the manager said ok, have a good weekend. Do not trust them, you can not take them at their word. And making fun of someone's disability is disgusting!
