I do not know this Dorie. I see that she is mentioned time and again in this thread. Maybe some of the reviews are true and she did not do favors for those that wrote them. But here is my story and my true experiences with Dorie and her flop shop. I had repeated meetings with only Juliette at Gilroy / Hollister Visiting Angels. Dorie never introduced herself, phoned me, had any contact with me at all after doing business with her for over two years. She ignored me because I complained about her horrible service. After my initial meeting with Juliette to set up service for my loved one, every other follow on meeting was always with Juliette and was always because Visiting Angels service was AWFUL. The staff they would hire would be sent to our home after receiving a few days training at most, this is what the staff themselves told us. They would be shown some handbooks and videos. In 9 out of 10 cases they would always quit within weeks, months at most creating inconsistency and dangerous health care conditions for my elderly loved one. Juliette would call me long distance when there was nothing I could possibly do when another caregiver would quit Dorie's employ without notice and ask me if it would be OK if they sent over someone that had not been fully trained that they just hired because they were so short handed. I finally fired Dorie and found much much better care elsewhere that was recommended by my loved one's doctor's office. I spent tens of thousands with this horrible company owned by Dorie and my loved one received back inconsistent, unreliable, and low quality service. There are so many better services out there, maybe not in Gilroy, but they will come to Gilroy. You are not locked into using Visiting Angels which is only some kind of franchise in Gilroy, not the high quality care shown in their national TV commercials I relied upon. I am next going to write to national Visiting Angels to let them know how my loved one was mistreated by Dorie. I was once where you are now, desperate to find reliable, safe, and loving care for my loved one. If you write to me through YELP I will be happy to tell you who I hired after I fired this Dorie the mystery person who never met with me once after over two years doing business with me. Ask Dorie hard questions. Insist to meet Dorie. Make Dorie guarantee she wont switch caregivers on your poor loved one every few weeks as she did to us. Find out how much staff change at Dorie's profit machine business there is. Gilroy Visiting Angels & Dorie the owner is not the company you want, they are simply in a word horrible, unsafe, very unreliable. Despite how much they tell you they care, Dorie is in it for the money. She is not running a non profit no matter how much she claims to be an expert in senior care. Working in HR, holding a psych degree, and taking a few classes at Visiting Angels franchise training does not make her an expert in treating her clients or her staff well.
