He answered all my questions and concerns and didn't make me feel rushed at all. He's very personable and easy to get along with! The office staff is super helpful, they were able to get my husband and I appointments right next to each other, so we could come at the same time. They also explained our insurance coverage to us really well, in regard to getting eye glasses. They have a fairly large selection of eye glasses to choose from if you end up needing them. I took a picture of one panel of glasses, but they have 4 or 5 more outside of the picture I took. There's lots of parking available! I highly recommend Dr. Salinas and his office team and will continue to go to them every year that I'm living in Orlando.

After an hour-long lecture from Dr. Salina's, he decided NOT to give us a prescription for her contact lenses because, according to him, she should wear regular glasses for three months and then come back for the contact lenses. Where does this make sense if she's been wearing glasses for two years? Obviously, they charge for regular glasses and then we have to come back for the contact lenses and guess what? Pay again If I want my daughter to wear contact lenses, it's NOT the doctor's decision, because I didn't go to a doctor's appointment to have a kidney removed or to get for her a breast augmentation. It's hard not to feel as though them selling the glasses only to have me buy the contacts as well in three months was more important than what the patient actually needed.

The Review: I've been visiting Dr. Salinas for years, the only times being when my coverage changed and if was not accepted. The office staff are all very pleasant to encounter and happy to assist. Dr. Salinas is very easy to talk to and ensures all discussions and questions are answered with easy to understand explanations while not trying to come off as pressuring for up selling. In fact, they do a fantastic job assisting with rebates when it comes to contacts. It's a very comfortable environment and if they accept your insurance I highly recommend! The location also is big on expanding technologies - they were among the first in the area to utilize the "optomap" camera (while it still is not covered by plans and does cost extra, I definitely recommend). Some do come off as gimmicky (I.e.Neurolens), but I'd much rather the option be available to me than a practice that might not be as quick to embrace newer testing methods. Only reasons for holding back on a 5th star is with all the transparency on how overpriced eyewear is, this office does not offer anything to really compete with online and even brick and morter locations which offer things like cheap frames. Don't be surprised to be quoted easily $300 on the low end, after coverage benefit. They also unfortunately do not provide pupil distance on prescriptions, so it's something you need to figure out on your own if you do try to purchase online. If you need glasses you're better off paying other business styles the $100 to get the exam and glasses to ensure a professional is measuring your pupil distance. It'll still likely come out less than if you were to buy from this location. Another thing is with all the technology, wire organization needs attention. The addition of the Neurolens machine is in an already tiny space, and resulted in an awkward seating arrangement where my feet where competing with wires and I also was not able to truly sit in a way I could be comfortable which resulted in my moving a lot. While I'm no expert, on a future renovation I might recommend perhaps moving the equipment into an existing exam room which has more space and converting the small hallway into a smaller exam room. Last, while peak pandemic may be behind us some cleaning practices which should be maintained seem like they have slipped. For example the optomap used to be wiped down after each patient but I did not witness this on my recent visit and it seems need to request a wipe. Personally, I don't consider myself a germophobe but for something where patients are putting their face against something someone else did this seems like it could open up some potential concerns. Those aside, I still strongly recommend this office. It's overall a very positive experience each time and I truly appreciate Dr. Salinas friendly and professional manner.
