Scheduling my appointment was easy, and I came in for my yearly eye exam to update my contact lenses and glasses prescription. I didn't have to wait very long to be seen, and the doctor was helpful and took the time to answer the questions I had. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the front desk experience. The staff didn't seem very attentive and acted like they didn't really want to be there. They were chatting with each other and goofing around instead of focusing on helping customers. Overall the exam itself was good, but the front desk service could definitely be more professional. read more

This truly is where customer service goes to die! I have been a customer of this location for many years, not sure exactly how many but I'll say at least a dozen or so, spending about $800 on glasses every visit. I always got superb service from Audrey but apparently she isn't there anymore. Neither is Dr Cross. But I booked an appointment anyway because they had all my records and I was due for an exam and, this time, I had a special issue with vision benefits I had to use in a week due to a reorg at work. I'll point out that since the COVID pandemic, you cannot call and get someone live on the phone - you have to book an appointment with their virtual assistant or online. The only bad thing is apparently it double-books. I showed up on time, gave them my name and appointment time and they told me that I was double-booked and that they had no one to see me. They tried to make it my problem because they said they called to warn me that I actually had no appointment but my voicemail was full so they couldn't leave me a message. Never mind their automated system texted me at noon that they were looking forward to seeing me at 3:15. Their solution was that I could sit around and see if one of their other appointments didn't show or rebook for another potentially double-booked slot. It's all chaos and stress for no good reason and their employees are just wide-eyed zombies with ZERO empathy for the inconvenience they cause or the pure shit service they give. Maybe I wouldn't have been so angry about it had they offered to help me. My particular situation was that I needed to use my benefits this week or lose them. Not that anyone cares, especially Visionworks. I am a very loyal customer, spent a butt load of money with them over the years and have referred friends and family to them, but it means absolutely nothing to them. "Sorry, your appointment is double-booked," like it was my fault. I will never be back to this or any other Visionworks location. When I walked in I asked if I needed an appointment and was told yes they were busy but there were a total of three customers in the store and one of them was picking up there new glasses,I had to wait until 12:15 an additional 25-30 minutes and was told that Medicaid pays for the exam and that's it,so I asked for a contacts and glasses perscripton then afterwards was told I had to pay for one of the exams in addition to my glasses and lenses, when I refused and said I was going to shop around I was left there for 20 minutes only to be told that I can't get the prescription information for my contacts to shop around!! First off, let me say up front I made a mistake. I booked an appointment the Friday before the 4th of July. Traffic was terrible and my Uber got me to my appointment 11 minutes late. This is on me for failing to anticipate the traffic. Now the nitty gritty: I walk into this location. Empty but for two associates and one customer asking questions. One associate was helping that one customer. The other by the computers. Upon entry my partner and was greeted with a sigh. Off to a good start. She asks how she can help us. I told her that I am 10 minutes late to an appointment and provided my name. She looks at the computer and says that there is a 10 minute grace period after which it is up to the doctor whether they will see me or not. The empty store gave me hope. She walks as slow as she can and returns. "I'm sorry, the doctor says you will need to reschedule." I said "okay." She said "okay." I walked out. That was it. Life happened, and while it's unfortunate, the place clearly was not busy - at all. They didn't offer to let me wait behind the non existent clientele, they didn't ask to reschedule my appointment while I was there. Just, "okay." Okay. I made a second mistake. My second mistake was that my partner always goes to the Visionworks on Mississippi. We always have excellent customer service there despite the store being full all of the time. I didn't schedule an appointment there because it was further out AND I really needed an appointment sooner than later and that location was booked. Big mistake. I should have just waited and gone to a location that wanted and earned our business. My day is ruined because of a minute. :( Don't let this be you. read more

Truly disgusted by the customer service here. As an ex-Optician I understand how difficult long days can be. The snowstorm left us 6 min late for an appointment, and the front desk associate told us the doctor would not see my partner for their appointment. Also; as a cybersecurity professional I saw a few concerning issues regarding safe keeping of patients records. One of them being that there was a patient's united healthcare card out on the front reception desk along with health paperwork that included address, name, and phone number. Very disappointed. These personal health records of individuals should not be out on display as the very first thing that customers are greeted with. Health professionals should take great care with this info as this could lead to a HIPAA privacy violation. Will not be returning. read more

Dr. Gardner gave me a bad eyeglasses prescription. When I got my glasses made they were blurry and the optician said the prescription only had astigmatism in only one eye. I have astigmatism in both eyes. I got my prescription corrected at LensCrafters Cherry creek with Dr. Hoover. Such a bad experience at Visionworks and I had to waste my insurance benefit on Dr. Gardner. No one ever requests a second opinion on Optometrists but perhaps we all should just go to higher rated physician the first time. read more

This was the worst experience. Certain optical disk in the rx machine are cloudy and it's worse than looking through dirty glasses. The dr says my rx went down from -6.50 and 4.25 to 4.50 and 3.75. Oh my vision miraculous got better. The glasses you are prescribing I can't see out of. He was so irritated when I complained that he wasn't helping me. I'm paying you for a service and you are mad. I now have to pay again to go to another exam because you are so incompetent. In 2020 your business said I had a -7.00. Were you wrong then or wrong now. Even then I had to comeback twice and have my glasses remade. I wouldn't go to these people again if I was unable to read a book, I would invest in audio books before I let them waste my time again. Let's not mention I showed up 40 minutes early to look at frames before I was possibly dilated and the girl with curly hair had her feet up on the desk, the other was buried in her phone and the girl who helped me didn't warn me of the puff of air test. Highly unprofessional!!!!!! All of them!!!!!! For the dr to be so dismissive and rude was beyond anything I've experienced. It was bad before but I'd hope they had change their tune.... Super friendly staff. Both the eye Dr and the assistant made my child feel very comfortable and they were chatty and made cute little jokes. We were in and out within one hour and that was for both the eye exam and purchase. They have a great selection of frames. Defiantly more on the pricey side compared to Sams or Costco but the selection is more on trend. Plus we were able to have them made on site and pick them up the next day. I had an appointment today and realized I was running a couple minutes late so I called the site to let them know ahead of time and they informed me that they have a strict 5-minute no-show/late policy. I rushed to get to their site and got there 7 minutes after my appointment time and they refused me service. I understand being late to an appointment is my fault but a 5-minute policy is excessively strict since most healthcare clinics have at least a 10-minute window for your appointment. This was very frustrating since at my first (and only) visit to this site I had to wait at least 10-15 minutes after my appointment time to get seen even though I got there early and finished all the paperwork. At that visit I was very understanding since I realized they were short staffed and moving things along as fast as they could so I would have appreciated if they empathized a bit for me as well. Sorry Visionworks, just lost a new customer. Come to this site if you want to be able to schedule appointments at minimum two weeks out and experience long wait times! read more

The lady at the front desk said I would have to wait 10-15 mins because they took a patient back since I was late. No worries, I could pick out my new frames. Then another woman spoke up and said that the dr was behind schedule and it would actually be 1hr to 1 1/2 hrs wait, what?!! If the dr was that far behind, why wouldn't you call your patient to notify them of the wait or to reschedule? I drove out of my way because this business is one of the few to accept my insurance. Ay ay ay, where to begin. Understaffed. Or inefficient staff. Amounts to the same thing: waiting. I stood around for almost an hour, waiting for an employee to be done with a woman who was complaining about something. Yes, that should have been my first clue. In retrospect I see a little leprechaun waving a banner that reads, "Leave now!!" Finally, I see the doctor and he's alright. That's the stars, right there. But please understand that he was oozing an "I don't want to be working in a dive like this" vibe. Now, I vaguely remember the leprechaun standing on my shoulder, screaming in my ear, "What is the matter with you! Get out of here!" Next, it comes time to buy the frames. The whole reason we had come to this place was because we didn't have much money and both my man and I needed glasses. They had some sort of buy one get one deal. We soon found out that only the 1980's ugliest, cheapest frames were eligible for that deal. Disappointing, but maybe not the biggest surprise. Seems de riguer these days to be sneaky with these things. The leprechaun was sort of sobbing in the corner when we got this news. But the man helping us, who happened to be the store manager, proceeded to do a lot of number voodoo and we did save some money. I'm not a fan of number voodoo, he couldn't explain to us what the hell our receipts meant. Plus, he had to keep leaving us to answer angry phone calls and deal with people coming into the store. When my debit card was swiped, the poor leprechaun had a stroke and died. He was buried right there in the store and his headstone read, "I died because Carrie is an idiot and actually made a purchase here." We really had a bad taste in our mouths by the time we left. One week later, my frames busted. One temple just snapped, as they were on my face, as I was standing around. I went back to the store, and they offered to put on a temple from a random pair of glasses. Nice. I'd be better off Scotch-taping the original temple back on. Ugh. So went to this location and everything was ok. I order a pair of glasses that they were unable to make withy prescription ok not big of a deal. The issue was when they refund me the money they took $45 for the so called picture test of my eyes. This test replaces the dilation of your eye test. IT'S NOT COVER BY INSURANCE. But instead of been straight forward they don't tell you that. They give you a confusing form to sign for it. It should clearly say in that form NIT COVER BY INSURANCE YET. Except for Audrey who is an outstanding employee and very professional in all aspects of customer support, this facility is just POOR. I say that after both using the revolving door Optometrist on call to the many useless attendants. Every visit seems like a struggle to explain what I am there for and then after they comprehend what I am asking for they all seem disgruntled to follow through with simple requests. Today, I returned for the 4 time on a pair of glasses purchased there among at leas 10 pair including my wife's where the lense has fallen out numerous times scratching the lens. This time, I asked for lock tight, glue or perhaps a screw designed to stay in place. Nothing was available but a screwdriver. I asked to see a senior representative male and he was busy for the next 15 minutes. Often when I go in several attendants are gathered together at a desk, not including Audrey who was out today, and each time I felt I was interrupting them and who ever came to help was put out. As a result of the above taking place over the last 6 years I find myself driving 10 extra miles to Aurora for top level Vision Works professional service. Unfortunately, I live less than a mile from this facility that needs soooo much improvement to come up to average customer service. Does anyone manage this facility??? read more

I really had high hopes for Visionworks. I was disappointed after they spent a month first cutting the lenses wrong and then ordering the wrong lenses. Long version: Walked in with my prescription and told them that I needed high index lenses so they would be as thin as lightweight as they could be due to my prescription. Lenses were ordered and I was told about two weeks. Two weeks and a day later my wife called and found out that the lenses were in (no call from them). Went in and was told it would take about 40 minutes to cut the lenses. I left my frames and wore my sunglasses to go get ice cream to kill time. Came back after almost an hour. The guy from the back who does the actual work comes out and says that we have a problem. The lens machine cut one of the lenses too small (I really liked how the blame was placed on the machine). He said they would have to order new lenses. I was dismayed at having to wait another two weeks and he said they should be able to get them in a week. I also commented that the lenses looked too thick and showed him the comparison with my current lenses. The new ones were at least 50% thicker. The prescription hadn't changed much at all. He said that he thought my current lenses were polycarbonate while the new lenses were high-index. He said they would order a set of each and we would use whichever was thinner. Two weeks (yes, two weeks) later I call to see if the lenses are in and find out they are. I go in with the intention of just waiting for them to be done. When I get there I immediately ask to see the lenses and, of course, they are much thicker. There is also only one set. The guy from the back comes out again and says they only ordered one set because the polycarbonate would be even thicker. OK, whatever. What about the new lenses, why so thick? He proceeds to tell me that my current lenses are actually too thin and are below the spec of 1.6mm in the center for high-index lenses. I am skeptical so I leave to get a second opinion. I go to another shop and ask them about the issue. The first thing they say: "It depends on which high-index lenses". Apparently there are 3 levels, 1.54?, 1.67 and 1.74. And I would want the 1.74 for the thinness and lighter weight. So I call Visionworks and ask which lenses were ordered. They say 1.67. That kills it. I asked for a refund. Not once did they ask why. No attempt to save the sale. They simply refunded my money and I left. I have since ordered new lenses from the other shop. read more

Pre-pandemic I always had excellent service here, but I have been trying to get my frames adjusted for about a month. I started by stopping by the store. There is a note on the locked door that you must have an appointment. The website is only set up to make eye exam appointments, not adjustments, etc. So, I have been trying to call them ever since. No one ever answers the phone and there is a message that the mailbox is full. I tried the live chat where I was told I would just have to call the store. I am currently on hold with their central 800 number, but so far no response. My next step will be to make an exam appointment, which I can't get for a month and then just ask them to adjust the frames. I don't know what else to do. Update: by waiting on hold for about 20 minutes with the 800 number, they contacted the store and put me through to make the appointment. read more

After reading done of the other reviews, I decided to edit mine. I would like to say that it was SUGGESTED ONLY ONCE that I get polarized lenses, but once I declined and told Audrey that I had problems with polarized the time I had gotten them she was very understanding and didn't push AT ALL. She was VERY helpful and even though I opted to get a pair that she thought weren't as pretty on me as another pair she had found (which were only $20 more), she was so awesome about it! I also want to point out that the lense technician called and told me one pair was ready, but the other pair's lense had cracked during cutting and wouldn't be ready that day. When I went to pick up the one pair, he surprised me with both saying that he got time and worked on the other pair so I would have both. I was super happy. I recommend this place above all others. This was not the first time I have had a great experience with Visionworks; I have purchased from them 4 times now (twice in the Springs, once at Park Meadows mall and now once at this location) and they have ALWAYS helped me and been very professional. Paid $80 for an exam and was only given over the counter artificial tears. 5 days later, my eye showed no improvement and the pain was absolutely driving me crazy!! Called their office and was told even though the condition was exactly the same, I would have to come in and pay another $80 for anything to be done!! Absolutely ridiculous!! I hadn't been here in years..... I now remember why..... I came to pick up my glasses, after they were ready but I never got a call. Then the girl shattered the lens when she took it out because "the frame was bent". I came back today after receiving a call that my GLASSES were ready. When I went in the girl couldn't find my glasses and then finally comes and says, " so we'll have to take those glasses (the ones I have) so we can fit the lenses." I said, "so what glasses am I supposed to wear in the meantime?" She gets up and comes back and says well we have that frame on the wall so it'll be about an hour.... oh and when you come back, it'll be an even switch you won't have to pay anything. This is a wonderful place. I am in medicine and am very picky about where I get my eyes examined and buy my glasses, and I have been coming here for few years now. Recently, I had flown to Denver from Maryland and managed to forget my contacts needed for my ski trip. Thank goodness for modern technology. After calling my eye doctor in Maryland who emailed my prescription to my iPhone, I Googled Visionworks and stopped in with no appointment on my way to Breckenridge. The doctor and staff were incredibly helpful. While they did not have my daily lenses in stock as my prescription requires a special order, they gave me the more expensive two week lenses, a bottle of solution and contact case. When I asked how much I owed them, they said the lenses and everything were free of charge. I cannot give this business a higher recommendation for their helpfulness. I am not in the habit of leaving reviews for large chains, but I have to say, this location really has it together. I did some comparison shopping around Stapleton for my eye exam and contact lens fitting. The price difference was astronomical, so I decided to give Visionworks a try, recognizing that the service may not be as personalized as local businesses. Since going to Visionworks, I have been proven wrong every step of the way. The service is phenomenal and friendly, communication excellent and responsive, and prices quite good for exam and contact lenses (comparable to online retailers). Follow up service has been quite good when I had some issues with the initial contacts I tried. They even made an adjustment to my wife's sunglasses (not purchased through them) for free when we stopped by to pick up some contact lenses. Also, I previously (several years ago) went to the LensCrafters in Northfield and had a horrible experience there and would strongly recommend avoiding. My wife goes to Stapleton Family Eye Center, and she has been happy with her optometrist there. read more

I normally don't write bad reviews but this visit at VisionWorks was horrible. The optometrist was awesome, no complaints there which is why I gave it 2 stars. The rest of the service was really disappointing. I went in for a glasses and contact exam and decided to buy 2 pairs of glasses. I always buy the cheapest lens because I only wear them at home in the morning and before bed. The guy kept trying to up sell me and even when I told him the purpose of the glasses he still tried to add basic glare (which I have no need for) which added another $110 to my bill. When I told him I didn't need it he became rude and seemed irritated that he had to continue to help me. The glasses are great, the doctor was awesome but the customer service was awful and completely ruined my day. They definitely lost my business. read more

The staff here is very nice and friendly the only problem we had was first we went in to pick up my husbands glasses because they were "ready" when we got there they still had them in the back and the guy came out and said we would have to return the next day because he had chipped them.. The next day, I went to pick them up and they were the wrong glasses!!! So we had to wait one more day because they mixed up the glasses and gave us someone elses. Now im waiting for them to call for my glasses will see how that goes! Sucks that they have such good friendly staff but bad service. read more

While the staff was nice, the actual product just failed to deliver. I used my health insurance benefits to buy a pair of sunglasses with prescription lenses. When the first pair arrived, the frame was bent out of shape and slightly scratched. I had to go in to get them adjusted but decided to use the exchange policy because the frame just didn't look good. Got a pair of Rayban instead ($250 for the frame, $100 more than the price listed on the Rayban website). got the glasses delivered and when they arrived the lens did not have the Ray ban logo etched on it! I called because I thought they just forgot to add it to be told some BS on why they cannot add the brand on the lens, even though the sample sunglasses in the store DEFINTELY have the brand etched on the lens!!! I feel deceived, they should have told me that my glasses would not have the logo on them, I would have ordered a different pair. It feels like they hid that info from me so I would waste my money on a brand name pair of sunglasses that does not display the brand and apparently has some random lenses that don't match the Ray ban lens quality.
