From the moment you arrive, they have safeguards and processes in place for covid. The staff at the front desk are all wearing masks and are so welcoming and extra kind. The doctor, and all of the support staff were awesome also. Once we were ready to pick frames, a young man helped us and he was honestly the best part of the experience. He was so so so knowledgeable and kind. He really helped us pick the right frames for us. It wasn't just about a sale, he was thoughtful and helpful every step of the way. When we went back to pick up the frames he helped us understand why the frames and lenses we chose were the right pick for us. He walked us through what we needed to do for insurance (to get a rebate) and gave us the Kennedy vision glasses cleaner that they will refill for free as long as we have the bottle. Well, I hope they have more spots for new clients because I'm officially switching my whole family over here. They were awesome.

We were in a situation of needing glasses and contacts for the first time and are going on 6+ weeks from our original appointment to getting what we need. From the check-in the staff was RUDE! I was told my insurance benefit was $5 off the exam which left my payment responsibility at something like $225. I asked why my exam cost at the Maplewood store has always been $0 with same insurance, the young lady became even more defensive. When I was about to leave another lady approached me and said if I wanted to self-pay without the insurance the exam cost would be $89, I walked out. Your staff clearly knows nothing about looking up insurance benefits. I went to your competition Shopko Optical to get my eye exam for FREE because of my insurance & they only billed the insurance company $86! I also spent $811 at Shopko Optical for my new glasses, they will be my new go to for glasses each year going forward!!!!! Les Jobst

I've worn the same brand contacts for year and have never had to go this out of my way to get a prescription finalized. I just think it's a bit of a waste of time. Maybe I. While the primary eye doctor was there supervising, the trainee was incredibly incompetent. What should've been 5mins to run these few tests took over 30. I had to ask multiple times for her to clarify what I was supposed to do during the tests. At one point the trainee even hit my eye with the machine. However the biggest issue was the front office staff - they were quick to complain about any inconvenience. As I in the sitting area waiting, I overheard them complaining about customers and how a certain customer was a "massive headache". Probably not the time and place to be complaining about customers when customers are in earshot! The exam itself went fine. Dr. Olson was quick and pleasant. A little annoyed that I was left sitting around for 25mins during my contact lens check appt only for the doc to spend about 30 seconds checking out my lenses. But that wasn't the Doctor's fault, just poor scheduling. Also, I've never had to come in for a second "contact lens check" appt in my life - complete waste of time. The attitude and behavior of the rest of the office team is not worth coming here. Also beware about ordering contact lenses from their office. I was able to order them online for about $200 cheaper than they were quoting (and got them delivered in 4 days vs 5 weeks that the office was estimating).

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I feel confident I'm getting the best care for my eyes! I see Dr. VanMeter for my regular eye exams. She takes the time to listen to me and makes sure I'm happy with my prescription. She always manages to dig up some samples for me, despite my not-too-common prescription. The exam rooms are spotless. It's a nice, quiet setting that's perfect for folks who experience appointment anxiety. This past year was my first time ordering glasses from the store, and I'd definitely order again. The staff were extremely helpful with my indecisiveness about the frames. They had great suggestions, and I ended up with a pair I love. I initially had some issues with the fit, and they encouraged me to return as many times as necessary to ensure I was comfortable with them. Their selection of frames are on the expensive side, but they seem to be worth the price. Things to note: There's a parking garage in the same building. You can access it through the alley to the left of the clinic. They have convenient online scheduling. They also offer an online contact ordering system, but it's a little confusing to use. I typically ask staff to order my contacts for me after my appointments.
