She went there to check the health of her eyes due to her being at risk for glaucoma and cataracts, she allowed them to perform multiple tests. Also going into that appointment her eyes had no irritation or redness. The next morning she woke up with pain and redness to her eye. When she went back they demanded she pay another copay to be seen when the redness and irritation was clearly related to how they handled her eyes during the testing the previous day. She was crying because they refused to even evaluate the issue and she did not feel it was right for them to charge her when they should have taken accountability for obviously being responsible for what happened to her eye. These people have no decency or compassion for theirs patients. Please do yourself a favor and find another optometrist.

Pam Oakley is a GREAT lady. She's been my optometrist since I was a child, so about 15 years. She…read morehas formed a relationship with my family and really cares about how we're doing and what we're up to. Her practice is run out of a renovated house, which adds to the intimacy of the experience. It's usually just her and her receptionist working at any time, so everything is really personal. She knows what she's doing, but everything seems a little old fashioned and the equipment obsolete, especially compared to the doctor I see in Austin. She has fewer instruments and limits exams to only the eye chart and a flashlight. She doesn't have the new retinal imaging system, so you pretty much have to have your eyes dilated for you to get them really checked, but that's understandable since the former method has got to be crazy expensive. That brings me to the next topic: price. Dr. Oakley is much cheaper than the other doctor I mentioned. I'd say the price difference is appropriate for the services offered, and she's just a great person to get to know. The eyeglass selection is OK, but you're not going to find anything unique or cool here. She's not really in the business of selling glasses, which can be a plus if you're trying to avoid salespeople. She may not have the newest machines, or biggest selection of glasses or contacts, but she's a smart cookie and the nicest doctor around. She's definitely a good choice for an everyday optometrist, especially for families. One final note: Dr. Oakley doesn't have a business website that I'm aware of, but if you want to get an idea of the kind of person she is, she has a personal website for her and her new husband and their adopted child: http://www.davidandpam.com/

Victoria Eye Clinic was probably the best, most efficient, professional and kind medical facility…read moreI've ever encountered. They were established in 1995, and have locations throughout South Texas in Beeville, Cuero, Hallettsville, and Port Lavaca. Their specialties and services include: * Cataract and Refractive Surgery: Comprehensive care including advanced lens replacement and LASIK vision correction. * Corneal and Glaucoma Care: Specialized diagnostics and treatment for complex corneal conditions and glaucoma management utilizing optical coherence tomography (OCT). * Low Vision Clinic: Dedicated support for patients experiencing significant visual field loss, prescribing customized magnification devices, telescopes, and microscopes. My appointment started with the kind gentleman who welcomed us, followed by the four technicians (Briana Kelly, Cynthia M, Aliisse C. and Ashley Volkmer), who were thorough, professional and patiently answered all my concerns with genuine empathy, which is rare these days. I then met with Dr. Peter Lam,who provided me with the most comprehensive Eye examination I've ever had and ultimately gave me great news. I'm not going to need the eye patch I've been looking for online, nor any surgery. He was thorough, addressed my many concerns, and was very compassionate and encouraging. Due to the toxic mold infestation I was exposed to last year, and my deteriorating vision, I was greatly relieved to receive a much stronger prescription than the one I had six months ago, and I'm able to resume wearing contacts! I may be old,but still vain. So, if you are seeking excellent vision providers, by qualified. compassionate professionals, and the most efficient transitions between professionals I've ever experienced, please don't hesitate to go to Victoria Eye Clinic. They are definitely worth the drive. And, a sincere thank you to Dr. Lam, and his team
