I'd found out recently that after cataract surgery (in my case a couple of years) a lot of us get a film over the eyes.

I been calling emailing and there has been no response . emailed both location brooklyn and manhattan! when I got to see a doctor I thought it was a person it was through the screen (omfg) they were suppose to send me a eye prescription through email obviously my surgery wasn't successful . well one week later still no prescription. and why should I have to pay for glasses what was the purpose of my surgery. besides I have to pay tolls to cross over to Brooklyn, im so annoyed I guess I'll be calling a lawyer so I can hopefully get help . this only showed me the only concerned to make the money not the patients!

I've been wanting laser eye surgery for…read moreawhile now but never qualified until recently (combined with a fear of going blind from surgery). Idk what changed in me but it was like a light switch went off where I was so tired of glasses/contacts and tired of being legally blind (-8.5 with astigmatism). It was impacting my quality of life yall. I came here for a free consultation where they run lots of exams on you, the whole thing took 2 hours. Turns out I only qualified for PRK cause my corneas were too thin. Which honestly made it easier for me cause I did a lot of research and I didn't know if lasik or smile would've been better. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say how much the pricing was (some businesses get sensitive about that on yelp) but my insurance was able to give a discount and I paid with my HSA so it felt "free". Worth every penny. What also made me feel more confident about the surgery was that my surgeon, Dr.Beyer has a LOT of experience. He was on the team of surgeons that conducted the world's first PRK surgery. So it doesn't get better than that yall. FYI, this place doesn't prescribe xanax or anything. You have to go through your PCP for that. Luckily I didn't need it even though I have anxiety disorder. I was so excited to get this surgery that I was not nervous at all during the actual operation day. Think about it this way. Its a common procedure and you have a higher chance of getting bit by a shark than complications from this surgery. Also, whatever you believe in, have FAITH. Things will turn out okay and you know what's actually scarier than the near impossible chances of going blind? Death. Honestly, nothing is scarier than dying. Maybe that's too morbid but we are much stronger than we think we are- no reason to be nervous! It's been a couple months since my surgery and I have 20/15 vision! The only side effects is dryness which is normal so just be liberal with the eye drops. But the surgery is super fast! A few minutes per eye (the actual laser itself is like 13 seconds for me). My eyes will continue to stabilize over the next few months but I'm so glad I don't have to worry about glasses/contacts anymore when I travel, dance or surf. They say PRK is a longer healing process and more painful but it wasn't too bad for me. The only pain I had was the first night after surgery. I woke up in excruciating pain but I popped some OTC ibuprofen and was fine. Never had any other pain since. My vision was blurry the first couple weeks so it was lowkey hard to do work but my workplace understood and I took it easy. I could barely make out what was on my phone and computer for the first few days. Small sacrifice for a new life!

Rating: 5/5 Stars -- The Gold Standard of Patient Care…read more I've always been impressed when a practice maintains a near-perfect 5-star rating with hundreds of reviews, and after my EVO ICL surgery, I finally saw firsthand why they are so highly decorated. From the moment you step through the door, the experience is absolute concierge-level service. The logistics and booking were incredibly efficient, but it's the people who truly set this place apart: Yari and Briana: They were my rocks throughout the entire pre- and post-op process. They checked in on me so frequently and with such genuine care that any nerves I had completely vanished. I never felt like just another chart; I felt looked after. Cortes: Took the time to dive into the "why" and "how." I walked away with a deep understanding of the ICL fit, my candidacy, and exactly what to look out for. Dr. Brissette: Simply an amazing surgeon. She talked to me throughout the entire procedure, which was incredibly calming. Her confidence and decisive nature made me feel safe and comfortable in a situation that is normally quite intimidating. It is clear that this culture of excellence starts at the top and trickles down to every staff member. Their bedside manner is unmatched, and it's obvious that the patient's comfort is their primary mission. They even went above and beyond to ensure I was fully recovered and ready for my wedding day, which was the goal we had been working toward from the start. This was the best surgical experience I've ever had. If you're considering eye surgery, this is the only place to go.

I went to Dr. Brisette when she was at Weill for catarcat surgery. My right eye was operated on and was fine. I was looking forward to having my left eye done. The operation was not successful . I had very bad blurred vision. When I went back I was told by Dr. Brissette there was nothing that could be done . In other words I would have to live with it. After 2 operations I now have clear vision back in my left eye. I was very fortunate that I found a very well respected surgeon who was able to help me. It appears that I was not the only one out there who this has happened too ! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR !!!!

Upon completion of my paperwork, I was informed that insurance would not cover it and that I would have to pay cash, which I agreed to do. Nonetheless, the representative at the desk collected my insurance information. I asked if I was paying cash, why were they collecting my insurance information? Her response was "in case something happened. It turns out that they submitted the invoice to my insurance, my insurance paid, and I paid as well. I received paperwork from my insurance stating they paid, so I proceeded to call my insurance and informed them I paid cash as well. The insurance stated they had to return the money to me; the insurance called many times to let them know and also to follow-up. Fast forward, DeLa Russo never refunded the money they owed me. Be careful, because if they did this to me, I am probably not the first or the last. Sincerely, CP

He was never told there was a contract for a one year warranty on his eyes and he was told it would last anywhere from 15-20 years before he may need a touch up. Well guess what?! He's back to wearing glasses again and too depressed to even write this review. When my husband called and explained the situation to the office that his eyes were getting worse, he was shocked to hear that he would need to pay another $3,000 to fix it. Can you believe the audacity?! Who would spend $5,000 for a one year warranty?! He was never even told about a one year warranty. He couldn't believe the amount of people that would be lined up like herds of cattle getting their eyes done between 2-5 minutes and you're telling me you can't fix your mistake?! Beware and go elsewhere! Dr. Moadel - if you want to make this right, you should reach out and do the right thing. If not, we will continue to share this negative experience.

To start with, I seldom write reviews unless a business or service has impacted my life somehow -…read morewhether in a negative or a positive way. NY2020 in fact impacted me. I've worn eyeglasses since 4th grade and now in my late 40s, I have astigmatism, high index myopia (I'm basically blind) and I'm on my way to the land of presbyopia. I've simply had it being blind at night around bedtime and not being able to swim or do sports -with all the hassle of annoying contacts. Not a fun journey but nonetheless I've been waiting and waiting to embark on my LASIK adventure. I've known about this procedure since I was a teenager but being the overly cautious person I am - I have procrastinated... So here we go! Dr. Ken Moadel and staff gave a professional and friendly impression straight from my first encounter. From the phone communication to the manner they receive their patients, you will be treated with compassion to the moment you step into their office as I was. The reception room is across from the main office area which offers privacy and exclusivity. The reception area is stocked with a basket of snacks for the patients which is a personable and thoughtful touch. After filling out the quick 2 page form, I was promptly called into the examination room with the optometrist "Anette". She was very empathetic and detailed, and explained the exact procedures, reasons and indications for them. Annette also spoke about my actual readings and parameters. She was also very jovial and inadvertently cracked me up a couple of times. Wrapping up her thorough assessment even showing me an eye model to make things more clear, she asked if I had any further questions. Without much further ado, Dr. Moadel kindly greeted me as he does with his other patients, completed a few more exams and presented me with my comprehensive and tailored treatment plan and the alternatives. He was candid and explained all of the associated risks and benefits in complete detail. My experience at NY2020 was wonderful and surpassed my expectations. The office is modern, pristine and professional and follows all COVID precautions. Most importantly- the staff and doctor treat you like FAMILY. At the end of it all - this is what matters the most.

Within the first 30 days, I spent nearly $4,000 on out-of-pocket exams, treatments, and specialty drops, many of which were tied to affiliated "discount" coupon codes that felt more promotional than patient-focused. What was most concerning was the constant pressure to commit to additional treatments costing thousands more, with no clear explanation of a long-term treatment plan, expected outcomes, or realistic timeline for improvement. When I asked for time to consider the next round of recommendations before spending even more money, the doctor became visibly irritated, which made the interaction uncomfortable and discouraging. Another aspect that felt especially awkward was the consultation setup in the lobby area. Patients are brought into a glass-enclosed room where treatment recommendations and costs are discussed openly while staff and other patients can see you. It created an unnecessarily pressured environment to agree to expensive services on the spot rather than feeling supported in making informed medical decisions. I understand dry eye treatment can be complex and costly, but patients deserve transparency, empathy, and the space to make decisions without feeling pressured or judged.

Very disappointing experience…read more Before arriving, I called to inform the office that I would be running late and specifically asked if I would still be able to see the doctor. I was told that it would not be a problem. However, when I arrived, I was suddenly told that I would need to reschedule. No one contacted me in advance even though they were aware that I might be late. According to the hospital's appointment system, the visit is listed as 15 minutes. When I arrived, I was unexpectedly told that the appointment would take 2 hours, yet no one could clearly explain why. If the appointment actually requires two hours, it raises the question of why I could not be seen the same day after confirming my arrival. The 15-minute late policy does not seem to be applied consistently, and there appeared to be little effort to help or find a reasonable solution. While trying to understand the situation, I asked several polite questions but unfortunately did not receive clear answers. At one point I briefly took a photo of the area, making sure not to photograph any patients or front desk staff. I was then told that photography is not allowed due to a sign prohibiting it, however no such sign was visible anywhere. Overall, the experience felt very disorganized and unhelpful. I remained polite throughout the entire interaction and simply wanted clarification, but none was provided.
