Very cool looking opticians with a lot of glass (as you'd expect) but also a lot of attitude. I went to book an appointment there but was so shocked at the attitude of the receptionist that i declined to make an appointment. It may have been just one person on an off day, but i want an optician that is going to be pleasant and that i can trust - and vision Express made me feel more of a hindrance than a customer. read more

I booked to have a free eye test, to book a Saturday you need to book around 2 weeks before hand to have a choice of times. I walked it dead on my appointment time and was greeted. Asked to take a set and seem to in the next 5 minutes. The staff that I experienced were both friendly, made appropriate small talk and either seemed to genuinely enjoy there job or at least gave that impression to me if they were hiding there disdain remarkably well. I did not feel rushed, when I asked about extras like thin & light lenses they were honest and frank with me saying on my case it wouldn't make a lot of difference; impressive really as a lot would push to make the extra sale. They have a good choice of frames, it's similar to the competition really. If you want a brand name you pay big money for it. I actually managed to find some unbranded frames that I really like. So I will actually consider purchasing from them now. read more

On the outside this looks a very sophisticated, top class optians. The reception table is immediately inside. While waiting to make an appointment the one receptionist made us feel very intrusive by giving us a weird look while she was on the phone and then turning her back on us. The other pleasantly smiled at us while he was on the phone and actioned that he'd only be a minute. When off the phone he was very pleasant, answering questions well and making the booking. The optician was thorough, though a little cold with her attitude. When choosing frames the optician disapeared and took a while to find her again after having chosen the frames. One year ago I informed you that my wife Madge Steele was house bound but you were unable to make home visits, therefore it was necessary to make alternative arrangements, yet you are still sending my wife reminders of an overdue eye test.
