I encountered 5 staff members in total and all were very courteous and friendly. The technicians explained every test to me clearly to ensure I understood what was going on. When my prescription was ready I was sent directly to the floor to choose some frames. I did feel a little pushed into this, as they assumed I would buy the glasses from them. That said, I could have said no - and they have to make their money somehow! The advisor who was supposed to assist me got caught up with another customer. However, while I was browsing 2 other staff members asked if I needed any help, and one of them subsequently guided me through my purchase. While choosing my glasses the assistant was very direct, giving me her honest opinion on the options I tried on. This approach may not suit everyone, depending on how comfortable you are with a stranger telling you what you should be wearing :) When finalising the measurements, tinting, glare-free finish etc, I did feel a little rushed through the process. Overall this is a great little branch of Specsavers and I'm sure I'll return.

These glasses that I picked up first were also the ones I ended up buying. The frame is called Cartwright and I immediately liked them. The service was great and although they said that it would take up to 7 business days for my glasses to be ready, I received a notification the next business day that I'd be able to pick them up. Also, I thought they were a good value for money: £150 including prescription lenses.

These would be the styles to show up in our part of the country in a year, or two. The wife liked the styles. We did some looking, and in a few minutes we had frames to take with us. These were not something we were going to be able to get in the States. We will get her prescription updated at home and lenses made. The young lady who helped us could not have been be nicer. She made sure the frames were the correct size for my wife's head, and that they fit properly. We are happy.

The store was much smaller compared to other branches and this was shown that instead of a large "double" stand at the front of the store, they had a single one in the corner - this is used to greet customers who might need assistance, ie) a repair of spectacles or the appointment to see an optician. The selection for a store of its' size was good, but it was much smaller to what one would expect from the Vision Express chain and I personally wouldn't choose my new frame here because of the decreased selection - this location is, however, useful if you do need to see an optician etc which I'm presuming would be quicker and quieter compared to a more central branch, on Oxford Street for example. This store is listed as a Tag Heuer stockist however by Vision Express but they fail to stock this brand, one of my favourite premium brands. The store was pretty modern and better than locations in small towns - A-OK does sum it up. 3*

Ronald Brown was acquired by Scrivens but I can't change the name via the Yelp app on my phone (!)…read more Anyway I have been using this optometrist for four years now not under the 'Ronald Brown' name as well as Scrivens (it essentially remained the same, bar the sign above the door) and the service has always been exceptional. The reception staff and the optometrists have always been courteous, helpful, sensitive, and overall lovely people. Recently the optometrist's equipment has been upgraded so no more of those (kind of creepy IMO) big boxes hanging off of the wall, but an HD screen which sees (excuse the pun) you through your eye examination; as well as a much less intrusive (and more accurate, apparently) eye pressure test. No more horrible puffs of air to the eye! My optometrist has always been polite, explains anything I ask, and they go the extra mile if you've experienced any odd problems with your vision at no extra cost. Highly recommended.

They ordered the lenses and told me when they were ready so I could drop off the frames, then managed to get them all fixed quicker than I thought. Really great service. Thoroughly recommended.
