I tried the chat function on their website, no response. I sent a message on their facebook page, no response. After my second email to customer service they responded by saying "we'll let you know when it's on its way". I emailed back to ask them to specify if I should wait a day, a week or a month but of course nobody bothered to reply. There's no option to cancel the order so I'll have to talk to my credit card company to get my money back. I'm sure they're lovely people in the store but their online customer service is non-existent.

Boots Optical has a convenient Victoria Street location. I have previously popped in to check out…read moretheir glasses selection and deals, which all seem that the selection and prices are similar to other companies in the area, although glasses can be expensive generally. Being with Boots, though, I trust the brand. Most recently, I have had issues with older glasses (that I had bought elsewhere) with the screws coming out. When I was in a bind with one of my lenses falling out when I was at work and I needed the screw to be put back in, the staff were lifesavers to get me a new screw and put it back in for me! I really appreciated them being there for me when I needed them.

I walked past this shops so many times I forgot it was here and was drawn in by the promise of a discount. The lovely Indian couple who run the shop were extremely understanding and helpful - I kept returning with various friends before I finally settled on a style of frame and booked my appointment (I am sure you are supposed to have your prescription ready when you start looking for glasses ). I was extremely impressed that they remembered my name and very embarrassed that I don't remember theirs. I felt in good hands and pleased that I wasn't rushed through the examination. I now own a beautiful pair of glasses which I actually enjoy wearing. A rare fiend of a place where you still received good old-fashioned and very personal service. Highly recommended

They even helped me no problem when I wanted to order my contacts in the US (they had to send my prescription) rather than through them because it was cheaper. When I broke said expensive frames (that colour was sadly discontinued), they offered to order two pairs of the same frames in different colours so I could try them out. Sure, you can get inexpensive glasses elsewhere, but this is a small, privately owned optometrist that will really take care of your vision... stylishly!

Recently I've upgraded to some new Japanese made lenses which are remarkably crisp and better for reading than my previous lenses. The test equipment is very modern and you can now look at your retina on the Apple display if so inclined. I don't change my glasses very often, but I take the tube here whenever I do or for a routine eye test. Islington is a nice part of town so pop down and have a coffee near the canal next time you visit.

There were 4 employees, and a middle aged blonde lady with glasses was very frazzled, saying to wait, then taking other customers. She had a very rude tone, after telling us that they only do eye exams on fridays, she referred us to Vision Express. And, that's the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars because the employee at Vision express was very kind and helpful. You should know if a customer is asking for an emergency eye exam, it's probably because they can't see where they're going. You're in a vulnerable state, and should be more understanding!

We knew Moscot from NYC, so we made a beeline to the London location. Kris couldn't have been more lovely and helpful. He was so patient while both husband and I tried on a million pairs (two of which we bought when we got home to NYC). AND he had temples custom made to match the broken glasses, and we had them back in two days for a reasonable price. AND he gave us great advice on cool places to visit in London. Highly recommend!

Luckily I found Auerbach & Steele. Over the telephone, A&S guided me through the process of obtaining a copy of my very unusal prescription from my US-based Ophthamologist and had a sample pack of my contact lenses ready for pick up within hours. Throughout multiple calls and finally the in-person pick up, the staff were professional, helpfula and kind. I cannot recommend anyone more highly than A&S.
