From the start, my interactions with Lisa at J. Johnson Property Management were disappointing and discouraging. I came in multiple times showing genuine interest in finding a home through their company, but each visit felt like I was being dismissed or overlooked. I provided all the documents requested, including proof of income and my Section 8 housing voucher, but every time I met one requirement, another one was added. At first, I was told my proof of income was acceptable. Then I was told I needed three months of consecutive income, even though my Section 8 voucher itself qualifies as a reliable source of rent payment. It seemed like no matter what I provided, there was always another reason to delay or deny assistance. Despite having my deposit ready and being a serious, qualified applicant, I was never given a fair chance. Lisa was often short with me, unhelpful, and made me feel like I was bothering her by simply following up. I went to the office multiple times and showed real interest in available units, but I was told those units were suddenly unavailable or that my paperwork "wasn't enough." I left feeling that I was not treated professionally or fairly, and possibly even discriminated against--whether because of my Section 8 status, my credit, or something else, I can't say for sure. But I know I met all reasonable requirements and showed responsibility and initiative. This experience was extremely disappointing and made me feel like my situation and efforts didn't matter. I hope this company takes the time to review how they handle applicants, especially those participating in government housing programs, because everyone deserves equal respect and opportunity when seeking housing.

But still had to pay the monthly fee for the benefit package of $51 dollars. and then added monthly pet rent. the rent was raised $100 each year. besides that the last year we were there It was nearly impossible to get a response back within a few days. It seems they have three people running the place and they're all on separate pages. Our move out process was horrendous. I could never get a hold of anybody through a phone call. We did not have use of our master bedroom or bathroom for over month because of construction for a leak we had to sleep in the family room with a two-year-old and also being pregnant. No compensation or offer of anything. said we can sleep in there it was fine. but with cement floors and workers dust all over things it was not safe for us or livable. so we broke the lease a month early of our year ending and was charged $700 or else we would be sent to collection agency and on our rental history if we did not. even after doing a walkthrough with the manager he said all was good pointed out what would need to be fixed. as stated in there move out instructions we got the house, professionally cleaned, carpets, professionally cleaned, and landscaping, professionally done. After paying all of that out of my own pocket, they still took $1,900 of my security deposit. and they replaced the carpets which they said they would let me know if they were or not and they never did, so i wasted my money getting them cleaned. they charged me for things that were already "damaged" before we moved in but because it was not written on move in paperwork we got charged. and alot of these issues were normal wear and tear after 4/5 years of living. so i advise anyone who is going to rent from this property management company to video tape everything at move in, document everything you see. they will nickel and dime you to get anything they can out of you. I disputed the charges and they only gave me the $10 back for a toy that was left at the home they were charging to remove a small toy my child left on a shelf. they also made us remove a lawn mower at move out that was left behind from previous tenants, that was even stated in the lease contract, and shown to them, but if we did not pay to get it removed they said they would charge us. please be aware of this company if you are a renter! its completely unfair how they did this to us tue last few months and reaching a human was impossible via phone, and emails took 3-5 days to get a response back with the move out process. i still never received a phone call back the last month when i would call to ask a question. i would get an email response back from three different people on completing different pages. horrible experience and we treated that home like our own.

Emad is a great real estate agent and truly worked hard to deserve this 5-star rating!…read more Emad was very easy to communicate with and is available for the most part via text and email. His commission rate was fair, as it covered a large amount of the side costs, such as landscaping, paint touch up, 3D photography, and cleaning. Although we did contemplate the idea of selling the house ourselves, we're glad we went with Emad instead. Numerous unknown factors came up, such as the buyers adding a new person on the loan, the back-and-forth haggling of transferring the solar energy, a buyer backing out, and a plethora of paperwork. Emad worked closely with us to ensure that everything was smooth and that we did as little as possible. He called it the "white glove" experience :) His strategy is to list the sale price a bit lower to gain more interests and have buyers bid against each other. This worked to our advantage, as we ultimately sold the house for the price that we wanted in the first place! Our home was listed on June 8th, we had multiple offers by the end of the week. Our first deal fell through, but Emad kept back-up offers and touched bases with those buyers right away. Within the next two days, we accepted the second offer and the entire transaction was closed and finalized by July 30th! We highly recommend Emad if you are still contemplating on a real estate agent! We'll definitely reach out to him for future real estate ventures!

I recently applied for one of their rental properties and regret to inform you that I encountered significant issues that I believe may indicate discriminatory practices. Throughout the application process, I found the communication from HBR Rental to be severely lacking. My application was canceled without any explanation, despite the information on their website indicating a first-come, first-served policy. I was the first tenant to submit my application. I view the property and while I was there jack asked the maintenance guy about my appearance I felt as though I was being subjected to discrimination. Additionally, both my previous landlord and I were asked to provide personal documentation like my landlord's mortgage statement that, in my opinion, should not have been necessary. Due to these troubling experiences, I will be filing a report with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to investigate this matter further. I truly believe that landlords should reconsider doing business with HBR rentals.

Updated review. I…read morehave used Michele to buy and sell my homes for a total of 3 times now. I will never use Michele again because she is money driven and does not look for the greater good of her clients. Rewind time about 5 years ago when my husband and I were young and we just had given birth to our baby. Michele boasts she is family oriented and her work ethic is for the good of her clients. However, the home we were looking to buy was built in 1953 flat roof with tar and rocks as the roof. Michele ordered our home inspection a man who just briefly looked over our entire home and said it was pretty much good to go. I understand as new home buyers, you should do some research before buying a home and being Michele's client definitely was an example. The next rain season, our roof had major issues and was leaking. When I hired a roofing company to take a look he was appalled how our roof passed inspection. I asked Michele who stated the report said the roof only required some new rocks on certain areas. Fast forward this year, we were buying another home and this time my husband's parents were involved. Michele ordered a thorough home inspection but only requested the seller to fix the mandatory issues. When we moved in, the home was still filled with the old owner's junk. Michele told my father in law she would get him a Home Depot card to fix all the other issues with the home. However, she sent us a box of fruit. Michele was unable to answer me when I asked several times why she only ordered a visual inspection of roof. She never advised us or helped us to obtain a thorough roof inspection of our older home. The roof damages were over $20,000 and we sold that home at a lot lower value. I believe Michele intentionally did not order a thorough roof inspection as young, ignorant first time home buyers, we would give her a sale. I find it hard with Michele's time and experience as a realtor, she would over look or forget to order a thorough roof inspection.
