First and last time coming here! The customer service was so disappointing. I walked and greeted the two workers there with a good morning with no response. The older gal walked up to the register and I said good Morning again and I got was a hi. There was nobody in the shop so it wasn't busy. She took my order and it was the most awkward experience. I usually have the blueberry smoothie but this time I had the peanut butter crunch. It was like a dessert unfortunately rather than the breakfast I had bought it for, but still good. Be prepared for a really sweet crunch layered in. The staff is very accommodating if you want to customize your order. I've always loved Virt Juice but after my experience yesterday, I will not be going back. I went in and ordered two smoothies and sat in the waiting area for them to be ready. They were calling a different smoothie, I had my head down and finally they saw me and said "oh your smoothies are ready!" They pulled them out for me and put them on the counter and immediately I knew they were not the smoothies I usually order(I go very often, I know my order). So I asked if they were the peanut butter crumble and the lady looked at me confused and said "no these are the peanut butter cold brew, what you ordered", I politely said oh I'm sorry but I didn't order these, can we fix them? She looked at me and huffed and puffed saying "ya we really don't do that", I was shocked because I hadn't even taken them off the counter. She then proceeded to tell me I was wrong and I ordered these, I looked at her, looked at my 22week pregnant belly and I said "I can't have caffeine, I did not order these"(I'm also a person who would've just taken them and just avoided the situation BUT I'm pregnant and wanted what I know I ordered). She turned to the employee who took my order and pointed at me and said "did she order a peanut butter crumble or cold brew?" The employee said "oh no, did I hear that wrong?" She huffed some more and looked at the customers around me saying "who wants a peanut butter cold brew? Free because we have to make two new ones now." As she passed those off she then started to scold me on how there's a price difference and they'll do it this one time but next time they won't. I was willing to pay the difference but she just rolled her eyes and said "you know, we've got a lot of new faces working here and YOU need to speak up when ordering". 5 customers/3 employees standing there watching her publicly shame me over her employee not hearing my order correctly? This place is an absolute gem. I love coming in here with my toddler or friends, it's a great coffee alternative. The staff always seem to be having a good time and chatting with each other and customers, they are all so nice and welcoming. It's a great vibe, which is a real credit to the owner and her team. I love every smoothie I've tried and enjoy the specials they come up with as well. They even have a kids menu for smoothies that we've tried and all are great, too. I can't say enough good things, whenever we have friends and town to visit they are blown away and always want to go back. Ironically , I wanted to try this place out after picking up some pastries next door (delicious by the way !!) and this place makes juice sooo delish!!! If you're use to fresh juice with all the healthy benefits sans all the good sweetness.. than this place is it ' I felt healthy with each sip!! I never jumped on the acai bowl bandwagon but when I saw pitaya bowls in Mau`i, I immediately knew I had to try that. The cold pitaya base loaded with delicious fresh tropical fruits and granola tasted so good that I forgot it was actually good for me. So when I returned to the Mainland, I was on a search for pitaya bowls. My husband tried Bay Area Vitality Bowl's but the pitaya was muddled by the other ingredients in it. So when we were down the Central Coast for a weekend, I thought Virtjuice might be exactly what I was looking for. We split a large smoothie and a large bowl. The Mint Monkey smoothie was tasty but at $10 for a large, you get a better value with the bowls. The large bowls here are a good price at $8.95 giving it a better value than the smoothies and the blended tropical fruits complimented the pitaya vs. overpowering it, however the granola pieces were bigger than I would have liked. Was it a good pitaya bowl, yes making me a fan. Is it as good as the one in Mau`i, no, as having access to pitayas sourced from a farm on island, it is hard to match the flavor of that, so was not as good as it gets. read more
