Pretty sure it's a franchise with locations all over, and I gotta say, I'm a fan every time! It's an ice cream shop but they have basically every mexican treat you can imagine, from elotes, to hot dogs, to candy, and even tamales. Even though we just had dinner, we couldn't resist ordering a hot dog. You can opt to have this bacon wrapped or not, and its just as good as any late night dirty dog cart you hit up after the club. IYKYK haha They have a ton of ice creams to choose from and they do give a couple samples as well. But if you don't want a cup or cone, they also have hella paletas to choose from! Paletas are so nostalgic for me.. they just remind me of my childhood with the paleta man ringing his cart. Ice cream scoops are generous, a single is still a really good serving but you only get one flavor! The workers may have limited English but it still shouldn't be too hard to communicate. They're nice and helpful, and the store is clean with a good amount of seating. They take CC and Apple Pay so that's always a plus! Hubby and I wanted to stop by to get some ice cream and saw this place on Yelp so we decided to give it a try! We were looking around and saw that they had a variety of sweet and savory items to choose from. We ended up ordering 2 tamales, a crepe with ice cream, their gummies chamoy and their hot Cheetos elote. Service was super fast and the person who helped us was very patient with us as we were looking at the menu and figuring out what we wanted to get. The Hot Cheetos elote was amazing! It has to be one of the best elote that Hubby and I have had in a very long time! The crepe with ice cream was delicious as well and their gummies chamoy was so good! We drove from Paso Robles (40 mins away) just to buy from this store. Our agua de Sandia didn't have much flavor it felt watered down (we didn't drink much) When my husband asked the young man Fabian for a different flavor he went to go ask the other girl in charge and she said no. He gave him a sample and said it tasted fine. He also said that his boss is strict and couldn't do much. We wont be coming back this far anymore. read more

Can't go wrong with ice cream and Mangonada. The sun was hitting hard at the beach so it really made the visit a treat. Dining area is fairly large and prompt service. Hopefully next time they will have elotes. They had elotes ice cream, but I was not brave enough to try. LOL. read more

I think this place puts a lot of pride into the ice cream it taste almost homemade. ;) Plus I like to relax sometimes so sharing a cone or cup with friends and family here is a really nice treat. Tbh I was at Menchie's before coming here but they didn't have the NSA flavors I like so I thought I'd I'm going to have sugar I'd rather it be here at La Michoacana they have really awesome flavors! DIABOLICAL. Paid $22 for these two items and they're disgusting. The dubai strawberries don't taste like pistachio cream whatsoever. I've had dubai strawberries at other locations and this doesn't come close to tasting even similar. No clue what their "pistachio cream" consists of. Looks like a lime cream sauce. Not to mention their "chocolate" is nutella, and their strawberries are browning/going bad. DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE "street corn." Taco Bell could've pulled this off better. Very tasty! Service is ok. Prices are not on anything. Almost $30 for a mangonada and a Fresas con crema with a scoop of ice cream. They charged me $5.50 for a small scoop of ice cream added to mine. My boyfriend and I used to love coming here, we would go to the one in Santa Maria and we were excited when they put this one in Grover since we loved sharing banana splits. Over the years obviously the price has increased, 11, 12, 13, however now it's 14.50 just for a banana split and unfortunately they give less ice cream and toppings. We went last night and the employee even gave us wrong ice cream but no big deal and then we went to pay, almost 15 for a small banana split is outrageous. We loved this place for years, it's just no longer worth it. McConnells is a far better deal and cheaper, just as good ice cream too. Azteca is just too expensive now. read more

Thank for for coming to the Five Cities! My boys were super excited to visit and now we no longer have to drive far for all of our favorites! This place is ginormous! Clean, bright, colorful and a menu that doesn't skip a beat! This menu has EVERYTHING! It's your one stop shop for paletas, ice cream, shakes, smoothies, elote, agua frescas , tostilocos, esquite, fruit cups and even chocolate covered bananas! We enjoyed the ice cream and agua frescas and both were delicious. We will definitely be returning. Stopped into La Michoacana Azteca to take care of a sweet tooth and was not disappointed one bit. The selection of ice cream flavors seemed endless, but we settled on strawberry cheesecake and Reese's pieces. For good measure we also enjoyed a warm churro! Along with the amazing desserts, the staff was patient and tentative during our selection process which can be a stressful time with so many options. We stopped by for some ice cream after dinner and it did not disappoint. So many flavors to choose from it was difficult deciding on 1! They also offer smoothies, boba, churros, fresh fruit, fruit bars, you name it. Staff was friendly and helpful. I believe 1 scoop in a cup is $5, 2 scoops for $8.50 in a cup but they also had waffle cones and waffle cups. My son opted for 2 scoops, oreo and mint chocolate chip. My daughter and I both chose caramel (cajeta), and hubs got rocky road. Scoops were a good size and the ice cream was very creamy. We all enjoyed it. An amazing ice cream joint to take over a rather cursed location. I'm not too well-versed in a lot of what they sell, but the customer service is amazing. I've been there a couple times where someone helping me doesn't speak English, but it's not too difficult to figure out what they have to offer. I love being able to pick up a strawberries and cream paleta or getting an agua fresca. They also have savory snacks like esquites/corn, loaded with butter, mayo, cheese, and hot sauce. After the La Michoacana in the McDonald's plaza (on West Grand in Grover Beach) closed, we thought we'd never get another one in this area. We are thrilled to, not only, have another one back in town but to have one that is very clean, has a large indoor seating area, super friendly staff, and a plethora of treats to choose from. We were walking by The Scoop and saw that the door was still open and the "open" sign was still on, even though it was 8:40 so decided to go in and ask if they were still serving, which they were! We got a few kid scoops to go around. Even though they are kid portions, the scoop portion was actually quite sizable and enough even for an adult to enjoy. The ice cream was basic, but made for a refreshing treat. If you pay with cash, you pay the face value of the prices listed. However, if you pay with card, there is a surcharge.

Overall, the name of this dish was 100% spot on as it was messy as hell. It was a super generous serving and definitely covered two meals for me, which was impressive. It also came with a choice of more-different-carb, so I opted for a biscuit. It was surprisingly crispy on the outside and made for a nice contrast-y dessert bite when topped with their homemade jam. I recommend checking the spot out, and try to nab a seat outside.

Bacon, bellpepper, onions, mushroom, cheese, avocado and topped with some sour cream! Really good meal Comes with house potatoes and your choice of bread , I went with sourdough. They also had home made salsa and jam that they provided at the table. Service was amazing and very attentive. You can either sit inside or outside. Plenty of space.

I would literally WALK from LA and back to visit this amazing establishment again (if I didnt have…read moresuch a bad back I would seriously do it) My boyfriend and I stumbled on this place during our road trip and although it was a quick stop, I left feeling so happy and overly satisfied w my meal. Not only was the food amazing but so was the hospitality. They gave us a free ube latte bc they made an extra on accident and i swear it was better than the dutch bros I had down the street. At first we were skeptical about the lumpia bc of the peas in them but once you get over that you'll realize its actually REALLYYYY GOOD. they werent soggy or flavorless, it was perfect all around. I was so full but almost wanted to buy another order to eat on the road- it was that good. My boyfriend devoured the slider, but spared me a bite. Im not really a burger/sandwich person but i have to say it was so flavorful would def recommend. If i was hungrier I would have ordered one for myself. It consisted of Lumpia (a type of spring roll) pork (was dry but the gravy saved it) white rice and glass noodles with vegetables. My wife ordered the mango lemonade which was surprisingly good. So why did I give four stars? I found two bones in the pork. When I mentioned it to the owner she said it was from cutting meat from the bone. I do not know of this was an aberration or not. These could have easily chipped a tooth or cracked a filling. I guess being a Casualty Underwriter for 37 years is commenting.
