Hotlix is a candy store located near the Pismo Beach Pier! My family and I love checking out candy stores and we were on the hunt for gum this trip. While we didn't find any gum (weird), we did find lots of other sweet treats like my favorite - Swedish gummies! They also had tons of chocolate options, freeze dried candy, pickle pouches and even bugs! I loved seeing the employees in the back making the chocolates! There was so much to look at inside, I almost got a bit overwhelmed, but the store is well organized which is a plus. Staff weren't anything special - they were just younger kids at the counter ringing people up. Not sure if we would make a special trip to visit Hotlix again, but I did appreciate them having a nice variety and a little something for everyone! Check them out! read more

A tiny candy shop located right by the pismo pier. My boys eyes light up every time we step in here. They sell chocolates, tart candies, taffy and even candies with worms inside. They also have drinks and ice creams too. The workers are always kind and try their best to move quickly. I love their home made candy here. They have one that taste just like a turtle. It has the right amount of Carmel and nuts in it. My boys always want sour candies and I always get taffy for my brother. A cute little spot if you're looking for a treat to have on the beach. read more

I picked out a caramel apple with Oreo crumbs on it. It was excellent! I see why there were so many people in line. I was concerned about how fresh it would be since it was packaged in a plastic container. But it was definitely fresh, the caramel was chewy but not hard. I would definitely come back again! Everytime I come to pismo, I always make a stop here. It's mandatory for me and my family. Things definitely have improved since my last visit. Looks like they reorganized / remodeled the inside. Looked good !! I definitely did like that the fudge and all the other chocolate products were nicely packaged. I feel like the chocolate definitely improved, because I got the rocky road as I always do and this time it was heavenly. I regret not buying more than 1 box. Okay so imagine a candy shop that has everything you expect... and then... insect candies (of which I desperately tried to get my mom to "live a little")... and the chocolate caramel covered jalapeño. Mom knows I'm a sucker for caramel and jalapeños (separately of course) so it was a total impulse buy. Part of me was hoping that the jalapeño was injected with the caramel, but it was in fact just coated with the chocolate and a delicious gooey caramel. I took a big bite and was immediately punched in the face with some serious heat from a seed filled jalapeño! It took me a couple of sittings to finish it... but I'd try it again! Hubby and I was walking to Mo's Smokehouse when we passed by and saw caramel apples through the windows! We decided to stop in, and thank goodness we did because they would've been closed by the time we ordered food. We browsed around a little bit and saw that they had a picture booth in the back so we thought we'll take one for memories. We walked around a little to see what they have but we mainly came for the caramel apples. It was about closing time and thank goodness we went in when we did. We were able to nab 6 caramel apples. Price was good and the apples were delicious! We love them and I haven't made them in so long, so whenever we find a place that sells them we try to get a few to enjoy for a few days. Went there 6/25/25 with my husband and daughter. The young men who was at the cash register made us feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. My daughter put her candies on the counter for him to scan them in which he did but when he was done he threw them on the counter to where we all just looked at each other in disbelief. This place is really fun for the kids. The service is always good. The staff is super nice. The candy is good who doesn't like candy with ants, worms, and scorpions in it. lol but they also have old-time candy we were in and out of this place pretty fast as there was 13 of us so I was not able to take pictures but definitely will be visiting again in the future. It's a must see when you come, you can actually see them making some taffy. It's kind of an old school type of place like a candy shop from the 50s or something. I grew up coming here every summer and after 8 long years I was finally back! I basically forced my family to drive here on our way out of pismo just to grab some chocolate covered strawberries. Those were my favorite thing to pick up before heading out to lay on the beach. It looks EXACTLY the same as I remembered it. I ordered a few strawberries and we picked up these weird cricket snacks as a joke to hand out to people. Which people actually accepted the challenge of eating one lol. They were also really cool about my pets and even gave me some doggy treats for them to eat in the car on the way home. read more

Very good candy variety and the in-house made chocolate is better than the typical American chocolate. Good coffee as well. Wish we had something like this in Los Angeles, I'd be there all of the time. Fun fact: there was an entire tabletop candies with bugs inside of them on display. They have lots of candy stick flavors. Kiddo got some yummy pop rocks. Moderate amount of Pez dispensers. They do not have any fancy dark chocolate in percentages or any craft local chocolates but if you want the weird bug candies, they have a bunch. The spicy chili lollipops looked enticing but I was a wuss to try any. I bought some dark chocolate turtles and they are the perfect road trip treat. They have a cute small selection of old school candy if you are into that nostalgia. I want to say the customer service from the register guy is always pleasant, very nice and easy going.
