Only two employees working today and both on the candy counter. 20+ customers in line and most of us just wanted to buy the pre-packaged boxes and go. But no, we were stuck behind every customer who wanted to select each individual candy from the display case. It was a nightmare. I waited 20 mins and the line never moved! One of the two employees should have been taking us thru the second register - that's why it's there! And somewhat obviously, hire more employees! Instead, I visited the Santa Maria store later and was in/out in 60 seconds and got a free caramel patty. read more

Smells so wonderful as soon as we walk in. A very nice lady was their to also greet us right away. She told us it was lolly pop day. They were giving samples of lolly pops and chocolate pieces. I finally started to look for the new item I wanted to buy, the Scotchmallow Littles. I did not see them any where. I finally asked another very nice lady behind the counter told me they sold out. I was so sad. We are visiting the area. It's 65° most days here. Where we live it's 108° can not buy them they will melt leaving the store. Hopefully it's something you can still buy in cooler months lol. read more

I am so sorry in advance. I can't remember her name was Yvette or Yvonne, but either way she was within her notice to go to a different job, and I just wanted to mention that she was outstanding!!! She was very prompt and professional, offering me samples, she made small talk for Christmas... She even gave me some really neat advice on a topic of discussion!! Dang, I kind of wish that sees candy could've afforded to keep her on over her new job because I really liked her and it's really hard to find people that are like that anymore. Coming from mannnyyyy years in management, I would've fought for my company to keep someone like that on my team. I love sees Candy reminds me of my mom. She used to take us when we would go shopping at May Company to the Little See's store that was right outside the door and we get a sample. I thought that was so special. They now have sugar-free candy which I highly recommended, my favorite is the dark chocolate brittle or toffee read more

See's candy..... they got the candy part down pat, and usually the friendly customer service part as well. In fact I have been to See's many times and they are almost too friendly. Well my experience today at the Pismo Beach 5 cities locale was hopefully a one off. Looking to purchase some of the delectable limited time chocolate marshmallow Pattie's I was left aghast. The store had two workers both seemingly pleasant on a prior visit but this visit was much different. I'm leaving the names out to protect the innocent. With a small line at the counter picking personalized boxes of candies there was one lady, I will call her the lead laboriously helping customers. The other employee greeted us and did the whole sample thing. We quickly picked out two boxes of marshmallow Pattie's and headed towards the empty register checkouts. This transaction would appear to take all of 30 to 45 seconds normally. As the lead continued to help customers the other employee shadowed her and never looking our way. We waited as the lead continued to help customers through the process of selection taking ample time to explain each candy selected or not in detail. When she finally moved about 5 feet to the registers to checkout the customer she finished and abruptly said she will be taking customers in order. All the while the second employee stood there never looking to help either us or the persons in line with either checking out or starting the candy selection. From there the "Boss" went back to the line and started a 15 minute interaction with the candy selectors while we stood waiting to checkout. All in all it was a classic case of "passive aggressive " behavior that seemed a bit over the top. In the end we got our candy in about a 30 second transaction that took around 25 minutes to service 3 customers for 2 half pound boxes of chocolate and 2 boxes of marshmallow Pattie's. Warren Buffett loves him some See's candy, and I agree it's pretty darn good but the whole nostalgia thing needs a refresh. Hire the the 3 P's, patient, pleasant , problem solvers and you'll be around for another 150 years! My advice find another location than 5 cities. read more

I love the new See's store in Pismo Beach! I am always uplifted when I go in there by the caring, professional, and friendly staff! I have been in at least a dozen times since their opening, and I look forward to many more visits! I'm excited about the stickers for the my See's Card also, availing me to discounts. First of all I am delighted Sees is in our mall. As a retired manager, I see that there is a disconnect with Mrs. Sees and the "girls" that are working in this store. They are young, very unprofessional, curt and self absorbed. Management needs to train them. Remember, "the customer is always right". To carry the tradition, this store needs older women who would love to do a good job. Good luck. I'm not going away as I love to give gifts of Sees Candy. So happy we have a See's Candies nearby versus going to Santa Maria or or Slo. Yesterday was their first week being opened so I stopped in there to buy some chocolates for my husband who loves See's. Martha, the manager, was very nice and helpful in picking the chocolates. Great customer service! read more
