Virginia Waters is a huge park not too far from Richmond, the parks main feature is this absolutely enormous lake that runs through it. The lake is so vast that you can actually swim in it. Me and my friends visited the park two summers ago, we ventured up to the park with four cars full of people and an extensive variety of food in our picnic baskets. The park does actually provide parking, I'm unsure of whether it's free or not, but at least it saves time having to search for a space for ages. We set off in the park to find a spot to set up camp, this involved designing a strategic route that would get us to our desired destination in the park. Our desired destination was to be as close to the lake as possible, we had to walk across logs, climb on rocks and avoid falling into the little lake dispersions about the park. We ended up on a huge patch of grass which was surrounded by trees on three sides and the lake on the other. This was the main body of the lake and segregated us from the other side of the park.
Once we settled into our patch, we set up our food, had a little music and strutted about in our bikini's, it felt like we were holidaying somewhere in the Caribbean, although instead of sea and sand we had grass and a lake. Many of my friends chose to dip into the lake and have a swim, but with the reports I got on how slimy the surface of the lake was I decided against getting in.
We had plenty of fun here, soaking in the sun, eating and enjoying the beauty of Virginia Waters. It's a perfect place to enjoy the sun and have a laugh with your friends.
