The class was fun, educational and most-importantly, taught me how to help save a life. I would highly-recommend this to anyone who needs CPR certification for their job or just to prepare yourself for the possibility of needing it. And don't get me started on the fact that staff were still required to go into their shared offices/cubicles at the height of the pandemic. The only times they could work from home (with their webcams on so the owner could see they were working) was when colleagues happened to test positive. That was only until everyone tested negative. Then you had to go back to the office until the next one was positive, then the cycle repeated. Mediocre community college, at best.

That was not what I encountered. I specifically asked beforehand whether the class was appropriate for someone with absolutely no prior knowledge of Korean, and I was told that it was. Based on that representation, I paid the $50 administrative/admission fee and attended the class. I arrived at approximately 8:45 a.m., 15 minutes before the 9:00 a.m. class was scheduled to begin. Even before the class officially started, it was immediately apparent to me that this was not a class for absolute beginners. The other students already had textbooks and materials from a prior semester, appeared to understand the Korean alphabet, and were able to speak and respond to Korean at a level far beyond someone with no prior exposure to the language. From the moment the teacher walked into the classroom, I could tell that I was not at the same starting level as the other students. Once the class began, the instructor started writing Korean words on the board and rapidly asking the other students questions in Korean. They were able to understand and respond, while I had no idea what was happening because I had never studied Korean before. I was instead given materials focused on learning the Korean alphabet, while the rest of the class was clearly working from an existing level of knowledge. There was no meaningful introduction or orientation for someone starting from zero. I observed the class for approximately 15 minutes and left at around 9:15 a.m. because it was immediately clear that this was not an absolute-beginner class. What is particularly frustrating is that I had specifically asked beforehand whether the course was appropriate for someone with absolutely no prior Korean knowledge, and both the school and professor represented it as such. My experience was completely inconsistent with that representation. The class appeared to be an existing class with students who had already completed prior instruction, rather than a genuinely new class for adult learners with no Korean background. I subsequently requested that the $50 administrative/admission fee be refunded because the class I paid to attend was not what had been represented to me. The school refused, citing a policy that the application fee is non-refundable. I understand that organizations have policies, but a non-refundable-fee policy does not address the underlying issue when a class is represented to a prospective student as being suitable for absolute beginners, yet the actual class is operating at a level where the existing students already have prior instruction and can understand and respond in Korean. Prospective students with no prior Korean experience should be aware of this experience and should confirm exactly what level the class is actually being taught at before paying any administrative or admission fees. In my case, I specifically asked that question beforehand and was told that the class was appropriate for me. One star because the class I paid to attend did not match how it was represented to me, and the school has refused to return the $50 fee after I raised that concern.

My daughter is a BSN student at Chamberlain University's Virginia campus. She's been enrolled for a…read moreyear and is on the Dean's List. Recently, her account was put on financial hold. As soon as we learned about it, she did exactly what we were told to do. She secured a private student loan, and the lender sent the certification to Chamberlain on August 14, 2025. We were told funds would be applied within 3-5 business days. Today is August 26, and nothing has been posted. Because of this hold, she can't register for the next session starting next week. Chamberlain also told us she would be eligible for a $2,000 scholarship after completing eight sessions without interruption. If she can't register due to delays on the school's side, she will be disqualified. That would be unfair given that she followed every instruction promptly. We've tried to resolve this with Student Finance. We were promised a supervisor call within 24-48 hours, but no one called. When we asked to escalate, we were told that takes another 3-5 business days. She was also told to email onlinestudentfinance@chamberlain.edu for a PKA and sent that on August 18. She has not received any response. My daughter is working hard and doing well academically. Please clear the financial hold, apply the loan funds that were certified on August 14, allow her to register for the upcoming session, and ensure she remains eligible for the scholarship she was promised. Families deserve timely communication and follow-through.

English is for sure their second language. He was short and rude on the phone. Next I go to the exam and had to park next door. Very unprofessional and unfriendly staff. I had to wait for awhile..then go into a back "office" to pay $40 to them to test there. Then I'm taken to the third floor where u sit in a small room full of old computers, next to a very busy street. There was so much street noise, I could not concentrate. They don't explain anything to you and can't answer any question that I had because they did not seem to understand me. Never again, I do not recommend this place to test at all.

Well, as a Chinese student I went to visit this school because of price, and move to the US…read more National Capital city. Terrible ! Most of staff cannot speak English and they are most Indians which is even funny. Given Indians speak some sort of anglo language. The Africans at the front desk in Virginia campus were as stupid for being arrogant, as if I could not afford this school and just came from some fast food restaurant in NYC. They kept asking me if I wanted CPT and would be willing to pay some tea money to get this and a payment plan. It seemed they wanted to earn some cash reward for refering me as well.
