Avoid the headache and do not consider this school…read more The first week my son went to this school, he had a little meltdown. He wanted to play with the toys and didn't want to transition to the next room without crying. The school complained about him that day in regards to that incident. They seemed to have no empathy towards my son and did not extend any courtesy on allowing him to get comfortable with the teachers, environment or learn their routine. The following week, I was completely caught off guard by receiving an email that states they came to a conclusion that they can't handle his outbursts and feel that he needs extra support that they can't give and that they PRAYED about it with the other staff and felt like God gave them HIS blessing that they should give up on this sweet 4 year old boy. I mean, of course, God doesn't want a child to learn more about Him and the Bible, that makes total sense! I was stunned by this remark and am disgusted how they would weaponize prayer to enhance their personal, inconceivable agenda. They also used an excuse that they are a small school which is nonsense because now my son is at a small school and the teacher there is more than accommodating on giving him time to get to know him, understand his personality and allow him to get familiar with their learning techniques. Almost all schools that I talked to while trying to find a new school agreed with me on that and thought it was absolutely ridiculous for him to be kicked out and judged so quickly. Way of faith has NO FAITH in a child to adapt at their own pace and doesn't seem interested in wanting to bring out the best in your child. If your child doesn't fit their mold they will kick you out and you will be scrambling to figure out what to do next. I'm glad my son is too young to understand this situation because this would have hurt him to know he was not accepted and given up on. I never would have expected a Christian school to do this.

By the end of preschool,…read moremy 4 year old was reading simple books, and even learned some words that have less intuitive pronunciations (eg, Pete being pronounced differently from pet)! What stands out to me is that the teachers are here because they care and not because they need the money. The teachers are older which means they have more experience and are not going to leave the second they find a job that pays better (an experience we had at another local preschool). The school is "old school" so unlikely another local preschool we were at that played Paw Patrol and PJ Masks episodes every day, there is almost no screen time (just on rainy days when they can't go to the playground). Finally, the class size is small (about 5 kids). Not only does this mean more one on one attention, but in this era where everyone is worried about getting sick, I value my kids being able to attend school and me getting my work done. (In comparison, the other preschool my kids attended had 20-24 kids per class and I did not have a single week that at least one of my kids was home sick for at least a day.)

Every detail, from curriculum planning to fundraisers and school events, is thoughtfully planned with so much care and love. The staff genuinely wants to help shape the future of our children, and that meant everything to me when choosing a preschool. As a parent who values being involved and understanding what my child is learning, I can confidently say their communication is exceptional. You truly feel included and informed every step of the way. Having parents as part of the staff and welcomed into the classroom creates a strong sense of community and gave us such peace of mind when sending our child to their first preschool. I cannot thank the CPI staff, teachers, and families enough for the kindness, support, and care they've shown not only to our family, but to all families. This is a wonderful place to send your little one, especially if you value being involved in their education. I highly recommend CPI to anyone looking for a preschool. We look forward to sending our future children to CPI and continuing to be part of the CPI family.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel an obligation to other parents to share our experience…read more My daughter attended this preschool until recently, when she was violently bitten by another child--an incident that was both shocking and heartbreaking. What made this even more distressing was that this child had reportedly shown concerning, aggressive behavior for months. My daughter (like other children in the class) became afraid to go to school because of this child and started to pretend to be sick on schooldays. Multiple parents raised concerns and filed formal complaints, hoping the school would put proper support systems, supervision, and communication in place. Unfortunately, nothing meaningful ever happened. I want to be clear: I don't blame the child. Children who act out physically are almost always struggling in some way and need gentle, consistent support from the adults responsible for their care. My heart truly goes out to this little one. Children show us they need help in the only ways they know how--and it's the school's job to respond appropriately. The problem here was the school's complete lack of action. They did not communicate effectively with parents, including (shockingly) the parents of the child involved in the ongoing behavior. That lack of communication appears to have allowed a difficult situation to escalate unnecessarily, ultimately hurting multiple families. After my daughter was bitten, we made the immediate decision to withdraw her. What stunned me most was what happened next: nothing. No exit interview. No request for feedback. No inquiry about why we were leaving. No apology. Not even a word from her teacher. We simply unenrolled her the next day, and the school never acknowledged it at all. This was an incredibly disappointing and disheartening ending to what we hoped would be a nurturing environment. I sincerely hope the school takes a long, hard look at its communication practices and its responsibility to support all children--both the ones being hurt and the ones doing the hurting. Kids deserve better, and so do parents.

I communicated with Ms. Kaltun, the director and I must say, after speaking to her once, I was "sold" at putting my son at her school. She is very personable, very kind and understanding, genuine and just listened to my questions, concerns and answered them confidently which gave me peace of mind sending my son over to a school during the pandemic. We then went to the school for a tour and met Ms. Komala, our son's primary teacher. At first meeting, our son felt very comfortable with her and he never forgot her name even tho it took us about 4 months before starting in class- she sure gave him a good impression and really showed us how much she cared for the children. I have so much good things to say about the school. I have recommended them to my friends and coworkers who also had good experience with them. Overall, this is a place that cares about our children, they do not look at them as numbers like all the others. If you want quality education and a safe place for your children, this is it.

It checked all my boxes of being clean, diverse, and a learning environment but it also was organized. I appreciated that each room had a picture and description of each teacher including their background and how long they have worked there. I also loved that there was a dry erase board with information on next diaper and next bottle. As any new parents, we were nervous about the care anyone would provide that wasn't us. Now being at Chesterbrook for over 6 months with our son, I would absolutely recommend it to anyone! The cleanliness and organization continue to stand out, along with the teachers and principals kindness and love to not only our son but the other children there. They use an app called Links2Home and we get 4-6 pictures on average of our son throughout the day. Communication through the app with the teachers and principals have been quick and responsive to our requests. Recently we had asked them to switch the order in which he eats, bottles first then solids and they adapted within the next feeding time for our son. This past Friday they had a petting zoo and give us monthly finger paintings our son has done. It's difficult to allow someone else to watch your only child but I will say I have seen him blossom and become so social with others as well as seeing his natural joy be nourished with the same love that my partner and I give. *****EDIT**** Nope…read more According to a few of the mothers who I still talk to and have their children attend there, it's honestly not as great... especially for POC . Ps- Audrey O is a faculty member so it's hard to take that review seriously. I appreciate her effort to improve the school's rating, however. *****EDIT***** Apparently the school got a total faculty makeover. Thank god. They caught on to the fact that there were some issues. So I moved my stars up slightly only because my children no longer attend there so I don't know what the environment is like there currently. I am still scarred from what I had to endure there for the few years my son did attend. However, I don't want to take away from the possibility that the school has improved. ************* It got to a point where I sent my child to a private school because I couldn't let my child go another year in this disaster of a school. Before, this school had raving reviews, but in the past few years- it has just been miserable. Many of the teachers here are pleasant but it's the administrative staff that I worry about. They do not seem engaged with their students nor truly care for their academic success. My child tended to have trouble in school and much of it had to do with his struggle with impulse. The teacher has been kind enough to "allow" an evaluation to take place but I have had so much push-back from the staff. I understand that it costs the school a great deal of money when doing an IEP, but it's for the benefit of the child! I just want to ensure that my child is getting the specialized instruction he needs in order to be confident in school. The year prior, he came home comfortable with the idea that he is just "not smart".That shouldn't ever be the case. My husband and I do our best to try and have him tutured at home, help him with reading, and occasionally see a specialist to assist with impulse control. Despite our efforts at home, my child still struggles at school. During my conference with the school however, I was informed by their assistant principle, Mrs. McNamee, that his issues were stemmed from the fact that he gets too much attention at home. What? Then they proceeded to still push back with getting my child any help until they FINALLY settled on having a 504 plan done. I want to give them the benefit of a doubt- but they have left me with the impression that that if your child has any type of disorder, language barrier, or disability- you're in for a world of grief here. Oh and heaven forbid you're a step parent. According to Mrs. McNamee, step parents dont have an opinion.
