Their lawn care is fine . Sometimes very good and makes your lawn beautiful . The technicians are always polite and friendly . But no matter what you can count on some sort of mixup with the customer service in that office or company in general . I feel it must be coming from training and pushiness at the top . read more

We had a fertilizer application on September 14, 2024 with a new technician. Needless to say, we noticed areas of damage to the lawn soon after the application. We had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Chris Crowe about our dissatisfaction of lawn damage. Mr. Crowe came out this morning September 23, 2024. Mr. Crowe was prompt; courteous, a professional and accommodating. He assessed the damaged areas and apologized for what happened numerous times. He worked on the over fertilized areas in hopes to repair the damaged spots the new technician left behind. Thank you, Mr. Crowe for your patience; listening, apologizing, for the damage, understanding, for your advice, and help in correcting the situation. Horrible! Don't bother. My neighbor does his own and it looks 100% better. Would rather pay him. Can't believe I spent this money for nothing. They sit in their truck for an hour and spray for for 5 minutes. Joke. Accounting is vicious. If you go to 60 days late watch out. They will take you to court. Yet provide horrible service and could care less when you are trying to let them know you aren't getting the service you expected. read more

I have never in my life written a Yelp review on any company in my life so this should tell you why I started now. I would think very long and hard about hiring them to treat your yard. They killed 50% of my grass, some of it was $1000.00 of new sod I had put down earlier in the spring. Now a little back story on why I decided to use VA Green. My neighbor rents out his home next to ours and does nothing to take care of his lawn. His lawn is overrun with weeds which drastically bled into my yard. Now that being said, I saw advertisements for VA Green and decide to give them a try. The first few treatments they did on my lawn seem to be working great. The weeds we're gone and it was very green. Well, this past summer, as we all know it was a little hotter then past summers. I called VA Green to stop treatments on my lawn because of the heat and lack of rain. l told my concerns of getting anymore treatments because my lawn was starting to dying in certain spots of my yard. He said it would help my lawn grow better next year and would be fine. So, I took his word on it and continued the treatments. Well, here is were the issue really started to come to the surface. I ended up having 3 different locations in my yard completely die, not just die but burnt. The grass was very dry and brittle and looked like a wheat field. For full disclosure, I did not water my lawn it at all during the summer, never have since we moved in and my yard never died like these three sections did this time. I called them to voice my concerns and they sent out someone to look at my yard. The person who came out never came to the door to talk to me about what he saw or found regarding my issue. He just drove off and left me a card to call him. He said it was because l had not watered the lawn is why it was dead. Well, as before i did not this year nor have I ever watered it in the past in any summer before. My lawn never ended up looking like it did after they treated my lawn. No one on my entire street has ever watered their lawn and not one spot much less the large areas of their lawns look like mine, NOT ONE! l immediately cancelled my service with them. My opinion is they over treated my lawn and killed the grass. l spent close to $600.00 on treatments last year to have my lawn burnt up by Virginia Green. About 60% of the grass that died came back this spring but l have a lot of dead areas that died and not recovered. I would never recommend using them. Buyer beware on this company. I'm not the only one to give them a bad rating. read more

I originally signed up for Virginia Green to have my lawn seeded and undergo a few treatments. We had a lot of moss and Virginia Green informed me that was not a problem. Not once did they come to inspect the lawn or the moss. I signed up and after a few months, I contacted them because I wasn't seeing much difference. They assured me to give it time, the moss would disappear and the lawn would look great. However, the moss never really went away after a year of service, so I decided to cancel. At that point, they contacted me and informed me that there's nothing they can do about the moss and that I was misinformed. Wanting to earn back my business, we agreed they would come to assess the lawn and we'd go from there. They basically reiterated there's nothing they can do about the moss. I said fine, how much is it to seed the lawn again. He gave me a price, and I said okay. Six weeks later, the lawn was not as full as expected and I wanted to ask them to provide more seed. I happened to see them outside treating the lawn and I ask the guy if this treatment was part of the seeding, and he replied with no, this is part of your regular service (the service I canceled). I contacted VG to ask why I am still being serviced, when I only ordered seed. They said I never canceled. Good thing I saved the email. So they issued a refund. However, I still needed more seed, from the seeding service that they guarantee. Because I canceled, they refused to touch up the lawn and they lied by telling me someone had come the week prior to touch it up. Good thing I have photos. Long story short, they will tell you what you want to hear to get you signed up. If you purchase one, three, or five services, they will continue to charge you without asking. They price the seeding service as a-la-carte, however they don't honor the seeding guarantee unless you continue service. They don't even monitor how the seed is filling in the lawn to determine if more seed is necessary. I'm sure someone will attempt to respond to this but I have receipts from my communications and I will post them if I need to. read more

I have used Virginia Green for about five years and feel the need to review because they're a gem of a company to whom my value and appreciation has increased over time. At my previous house I needed help controlling weeds and establishing a more quality lawn. Within the first year, and definitely upon completion of the second year, Virginia Green helped me to achieve just that. I transferred service to my new house and the good service has continued. They always notify me a few days ahead about when they are planning to come and while at my house they are professional and quick. I originally felt the prices were a bit steep but having done a little more investigating I feel they are on par with other businesses and due to their size actually offer a number of additional benefits. The company is generous and very responsive. They reached their peak to me earlier this year when army worms were invading all of our local neighborhoods and peoples lawns were being obliterated within 24 to 48 hours. All that hard work and lots of money to get your lawn where it is and these worms were taking it down to dust without any warning. I contacted my Rep at Virginia Green to ask about treating my lawn for these worms and even though call volume had skyrocketed around the area because of this problem, they were at my house putting down treatment come Monday morning. And no, this didn't come at any extreme cost and was right on scale with what other companies were offering in response to this lawn emergency situation. Virginia Green, in my opinion, is superior to some of the other companies my friends and neighbors use to maintain their lawn and landscaping. They have a website that is pretty useful and has an online account feature where you can access some additional information or view your services. It is easy to contact them by phone or email as well. Currently I don't know what more a lawn and landscaping company could offer a customer. read more

For three years I used their competitor and my lawn was just so-so. In fact, there were always parts of the lawn that were brown and patchy. Since I have switched to Virginia Green, my lawn now looks LUSH AND GREEN! Thank goodness I switched! I get loads of compliments now on my lawn and I think I have even made some of my neighbors envious! I highly recommend them and it's money well spent! read more

Virginia Green Lawn Care has had a habit of sending me a text that they will be here on "X" day, and they do not show up. Subsequently, I cannot get a supervisor at their office to return my calls to discuss it in any kind of a timely manner. When they do call, it has been only apologies - their computer system wasn't working, or the technician whom I refuse to let back in my yard due to very substandard care got assigned to me (after VA Green promised they would send someone else), so he chose not to show up. Of course, no one was sent in his place. Their system is automated so they "cannot control that," according to them. They have even used the excuse of a note in my file that I have requested that I call to confirm when I am sent a date for service. Big, Big lie. I have never requested that and asked that it be removed, which it has not. I must unlock gates for them due to dogs, which has made this situation now unbearable, as they have not shown up as scheduled (their text/call to me) the past four applications. Nor do they care enough about it to return my calls. If you go with VA Green, don't make the mistake I did and pay in advance.
