This is the nicest park with great amenities, great management and wonderful campers! Now, we all know that there will be a bad apple in every bunch and we all know that changes are made every year. It's those changes that seem to rile people up. If you come with goodness in your heart and abide by the rules, usually you will not have a problem. This is not a party life RV park, this is a family oriented park. The FHU's worked flawlessly. They pick up trash from your site. They had a live music duo and a giant bubble machine for the kids Memorial Day Weekend. Even then, it was still quiet each night. Nice little trail to a local coffee shop house and a very cute little "fairy island". Plenty of different sites. No pull thru's available. We had a back-in that was very big, easily handling our 42 ft fifth wheel and tow truck. And frankly, it offered more privacy with the trees and shrubs between sites. We enjoyed our stay here. The pothole and the circuitous exit were the only negatives. The exit can be a bit tricky to navigate, particularly if there is a rig parked at the office. After the office you need to take a weird left turn, then you have to avoid any incoming traffic. Oh and if your GPS wants you to turn left out of the park or do a U-turn down the road - go right and use the Military Cutoff Road.

It has one of the best designed traffic flows I have seen. You drive to the back, find your row, take a left and pull into your slot. Look on their web site if this doesn't make sense. It's super easy. Every site is a very flat concrete pad with plenty of room. All roads are asphalt and are in perfect condition. It's the easiest place to get into and out of that I have seen. They have all the expected connections at every site. No cable, but there are more than two dozen channels available via antenna. They pick up your trash. Super nice pool. Golf carts for rent. Places for kids and dogs. The grass is very nicely maintained. The place is secure with a real gate that they give you a card to open. Everything here is first rate. The staff was super nice. We got an Amazon delivery but we're off at Bald Head Island near closing time they called us about it and we said just leave it by the door... someone took the time to bring it to our site! While you are there, definitely take the ferry out to Bald Head Island. It's not far. I definitely recommend this place and honestly will say that it deserves more than five stars.

There is a small exhibit area about some of the animals, geology, geography, and history of the area. We hiked the 3 mile Sugar Loaf trail. It was more challenging than expected due to the sand. The weather was very pleasant the day we went in the spring. We saw quite a few other people enjoying the trail and having picnics. We heard a lot of birds including woodpeckers. The variety of trees and pinecones during our hike was fascinating.

We met tons of friends, enjoyed the 4th of July events, and loved the beautiful area. For future campers, Purple sites were great - right across from the bath house and each had a picnic table. Only downside was that they didn't have a fire ring, but it was too hot for a fire anyway! The Bath camping spots across from us did have fire rings. Everyone we met from employees to other guests were fabulous and made our experience amazing. Can't say enough good things.

We love the family atmosphere and our kids enjoyed riding their bikes, playing on the playground, and going to the pool. This is the perfect campground if you love smaller campgrounds with SHADE. It is definitely not a concrete jungle like some of the other campgrounds. The bath houses are the best and they are cleaned on a regular basis. The campground also has a small store that offers free movie rental for those rainy days/nights. The staff is very friendly. I cannot say enough great things about this campground!

Bath houses were in good condition as well, always good to count on that. The pool was a bit crowded for us, but we were there on July 4th so that's pretty understandable. They also had some holiday events like a bubble foam cloud that the kids were running through. All of the park staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved walking to the cafe from the campground and had a nice lunch there one afternoon. The campground is also convenient to many other attractions in Wilmington and not too far from the beach.
