This is a small location compared to some that I've been to in other states. It's located in a shopping plaza. There's ample parking. I must have come at the right time as it was easy in and easy out. Elizabeth appears to be a quiet, reserved, young lady. Don't worry as she will open and talk to you and ensure that your questions are answered and needs met. She was able to assist me with my account, as well as clear up some incorrect information I was provided from calling the call center/toll free number. I appreciate the time she took helping and the friendly conversation. It'll be nice to see additional locations opened, especially in the central Virginia area. The locations on Virginia seem to be spread out, whereas in northern states like Pennsylvania and New Jersey there's literally one on every corner or so it seems. They're closed on Saturday and Sunday, so they truly have banker's hours. If you are current military or a veteran, let them tell you what they have to offer. Stop by and you won't be disappointed. They reopened my checking account for me that had been charged off which is what I wanted so I could keep the same number. I understand it's a one time thing but I'm satisfied with the resolution. The lady I spoke with was very friendly and professional. I was also able to keep the other checking account they had opened originally too. So now I can drop the fact that they would not help me with a loan even after they said they would but that was right after the merger and they were still in the growing stage around here so maybe they didn't mean to lead me to believe I'd be accepted if I made the account positive and to be fair to the staff member who said that maybe MemberOne would have but maybe there's something in the terms that VACU wouldn't but either way that's been almost 3 months ago so I dropped that completely when they agreed to reopen my account. So now I can recommend them again. They made good with me so I will make good with them. It would have been nice of them to call when it was originally going to happen. On top of that, deposit processing times have been unreasonably slow far longer than what most customers would consider acceptable in today's banking world. I understand that security measures are important, but the way this was handled felt excessive and poorly managed. Customers deserve better communication, faster resolution times, and systems that don't create unnecessary stress. At this point, I would strongly reconsider using VACU if you value timely access to your funds and responsive service.

Then Escalation supervisor said, because I had good account, she allowed $500 of the larger amount of the return check transfered to my credit card while full check was traced. Meanwhile branch supervisors gave me wrong information for weeks. One told me I had to wait until returned check processed through mail, another told me I could request an image if I walked in a branch and have my full refund check cashed. Then another told me that was wrong info and that same day, another told me they sent return image check to my previous address (not to address on Federal check where I presently lived). After I drove to the state, knocked on door to ask present renter, and received no info, then PNC manager told me, 20 DAYS LATER, the check was lost and I needed to contact IRS for a new check. I then contacted IRS and applied for another check, which takes at least a-6-weeks-process. Finally, IRS put a tracer on the check and said PNC returned the check May 6! After I received another check from IRS, in JULY, I immediately went to branch to pay back $500.00, and that's when I learned my account was closed, charged off as bad account. I asked for a reversal and was told-- no. I was given wrong information and now, have a mark against my credit and no bank account.
