If you are trying to support a local business over a chain, this is the place you need to go! This…read morespot is an absolute gem. It was a bit hidden but great location next to an actual train track. Interestingly enough, a train passed through while we dinned. I'm sure the outside experience it better than indoors. However, the outside tables is more limited. They feature a small menu, but you can tell they focus on fresh ingredients. Quality over quantity. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and it was easily one of the best I have ever had! What really elevates it is the inclusion of thinly sliced apples; they provide a fantastic crunch and a perfect sweet-tart balance. You have to try it! We stopped by during a busy Tuesday lunch rush, and despite the place being packed, the staff was very attentive. Everyone was kind and clearly working hard, doing their absolute best to check in on us and keep things moving. Highly recommend this local spot for a fresh, high-quality lunch!

The old building has a nostalgic flare with a cozy interior atmosphere! The cafe was full and for good reason, the food was excellent! We started with the grilled cornbread and Frico wine. The cornbread was absolutely delicious and the wine was perfect! My husband had the Caboose Burger and said it was good but nothing special. I had the Fig Pro Quo and it was spectacular! I had a side salad which was simple but really delicious! It was a great first experience and I'm looking forward to going back! My kind of place for sure!

It's all a scam like every other price gouging store! ******* Very disappointed in Total Wine ... However, there are still other great wine stores around with great prices!!

First let's talk about their wine tastings. Every week they offer a range of different varietal's that are sure to please every wine lover's pallet. From bubbly to sweet you are sure to try something you love and if not their wine experts will help. They are so helpful and patient with you to help you find what you like. Now let's get into their wine classes. Let's just say TOP TIER!!!! And their wine manager & level 3 Somm Alexis at the short pump location knows her stuff!!! Each class she teaches us about more than the wine. She shows us how to hold our glasses, open bottles, and details about the regions the wines came from. Did I mention that she always provides us with foods, snacks, and desserts that go perfectly with each wine we learn about. The cost of the classes are amazing affordable and the wealth of knowledge and fun we have are worth every penny. If you love wine, or want to learn more please check out the events page for your local total wine. If you go to the short pump location tell Alexis CheKesha sent you 2024 class are selling out fast.

Considering all that is going on in the world, it is easy for a small store with limited resources…read moreto either suspend their business, shorten their neighborhood reach, or worse, stop working altogether and close down, especially those businesses not considered "essential." Now whether or not you feel that stores selling beer and wine are deserving of such a label, these are places that at the very least allowing us to indulge in some adult beverages while we hunker down and wait this thing out. Some days I would say that these choices are essential, (the importance is directly proportional to the number of kids that you are trying to home-school from what I have read.) and there are still celebrations and birthdays and anniversaries that are not subject to Covid-19, even if they may be altered from what the original vision was. So on this #thankfulthursday, I wanted to recognize De Fles Winkel, a small and unassuming beer and wine shop in the Twin Hickory area, that continues to provide excellent customer service, a strong community visibility, and a willingness to get their product out quickly to those who are currently unable to get it themselves. Now of course some other places are delivering beer and wine, but The Wink, as it is affectionately named, has a very small staff and due to their size cannot be a volume buyer of these items, and in turn sell their product at a lower price without being hurt by this practice. Still, they keep their prices very (almost unbelievably) competitive and their helpfulness is at an all-time high in direct contrast to most of these stores. In fact, their response to the crisis has been nothing short of amazing, as they have delivered my items on the same day each time I have placed an order (not something easily found these days, even from the big-box stores). You want youor drinks delivered cold? Just ask them. So cheers to The Wink, and here's to all of the small neighborhood business, like them, who are showing strong resiliency and higher levels of strength in a time when we need it the most. I will remember this when we are on the other side of all of this madness, and will make sure they continue to receive my business. Looking forward to getting back inside for a nice long discussion about what's hot in the craft beer world.
