My family and I had the UPC Horizon Box, which caused millions of problems. The UPC Horizon Box contains the Wifi signal, TV networks and the Phone Cable and we kept the box under the TV because that's how the box is designed, an all in 1 box. The Power of the UPC Horizon box was great, giving up too 200Mbps when wired up via Ethernet, HOWEVER, because the UPC Horizon box was the floor on the living room under the TV, the WiFi signal was beyond useless. The WiFi signal constantly cut out, and when we could connect to it, it usually gave us Max 1Mbps. When connecting to the Upc box it would say weird stuff like "Incorrect password", even when entered correctly. TV and phone was fine, tho. We tried changing WiFi channels (1,6,11) and reset passwords and whatnot but nothing worked. For 2 years my family relied on WiFi extenders and Ethernet cables going through the house which was sometimes a nightmare and a fight starter. I contacted Virgin Media, and right away sent out their new "hub" which contained internet. The TV and Phone was fine as it is, so I was happy to only receive internet. The Virgin Media box is way way better than the UPC box in every way, better design which isn't designed to sit on the floor, and stronger too. The only problem was that I needed to re-wire the phones to the new box, but that honestly was not a problem. Their customer support service is great too! I've had the box for about 2 weeks now and it hasn't cut out once. Virgin media is better than UPC by a mile. If you have UPC problems contact Virgin media honestly. I no longer need Ethernet cables going through the living room floor. With Ethernet tho, I get 245Mbps wired and 20mbps wireless. UPC was always a nightmare to deal with. PS: I'm 20 years old so I think its ridiculous that my parents still use a landline phone, they are traditional what can I say. If it had it my way, I would just pay for an internet box, who needs TV when you have Netflix, and who needs a landline when literally everyone has a mobile phone (Get with it mom and dad). read more
