Toll Trolls are these two fabricated nasally voiced characters that make fun of stuff that's in the news or being talked about around town. Their voices are so annoying and they use all the really stupid Dublin slang. Besides this small segment, the rest of the show is entertaining.

What's wrong with me is this: when driving I lose any sense of taste when it comes to music. Sure at home I listen to the likes of Radiohead, Beck and Tori Amos, but when it comes to driving I want cheese cheese cheese all the way. Preferably, and this is important, cheese that I can sing along to, and that is where Q102 comes in. Q102 are really an easy listening station... basically it Karaoke classics 24/7. I know that my 17 year old self would roll her eyes in disgust! I know it gives me all the street cred of an aged librarian, but I don't care. When I'm in a singing mood it's Q102 all the way... you'd just better hope I don't have the windows rolled down!

Playlist realtime : you can spend all day searching for one as you listen to Spin online - but trust me and save your time - a Spin Playlist for every [or ANY] show, does not exist [it's standard practice on any other properly managed DAnce station worldwide...] 3. It started a number of years ago and has grown hugely in popularity, particularly with young people. It has a great breakfast show, lunchtime, afternoon and the evening show 'the zoo crew' is hugely popular with kids, particularly those who listen to it when doing they're homework! You'll no doubt se they're popular 'spinnies' floating around Dublin - pink mini's with loads of branding.

It's easy listening and you'll often be treated to the delightful voice of Gerry Ryan while sitting in the hair-dressers or a taxi. Expect to hear mainstream pop, rock and some classic tracks. He speaks at a phenomenal rate and if you question his taste, I reckon you can't question his passion for music. 2FM also give decent coverage of big gigs and festivals taking place around the country if you can't quite make it yourself.

As long as it's being heard on channel 106 -108fm, it may as well be gospel. Like priests, the presenters on Newstalk; George Hook, Bobby Kerr, Pat Kenny and the Off the Ball team are unmatched at convincing others that their word is the singular and definite one. At the other end of this scale, working the Titanic's engine room are the research interns who do most of the behind the scenes work, get paid a paupers wage and are treated as readily replaceable drones. This leads them morosely to Grogans every evening to have just 2 or 3 pints. All their wages will allow them. Basically, their entire stipend is washed away in a sea of Smithwick's Blonde Ale. Obviously they'd prefer to go to P.Mac's but would likely run into their bosses and they'd prefer to leave feelings of inadequacy to the office and not let it spill over into their social scene. The pretty ladies of P.Mac's are fodder for the Presenters of this world. While the homeless drunken hags of Grogans are a Newstalk interns best chance.

Since 1993, Raidió na Life has been broadcasting good music with the links done as Gaeilge. And even if you aren't fortunate enough to be blessed with the boon of our mother tongue, Raidió na Life is the only radio station where you're likely to hear drum and bass or Spanish electro, so if either of the above is your thing, tune into 106.4 Fm (the drum and bass is usually on in the middle of the night). Who knows, you might even pick up cúpla focail while you're at it.
