Advanced Canine Development

Advanced Canine Development did a wonderful job with fixing Axels overwhelming reactive behavior…read more They are the best trainers by far. Axel had been to at least 4 other trainers unsuccessfully before here. He had been to another board and train camp for a month and Advanced Canine Development trainers results far exceeded that place. Axel was very reactive and his 160 pounds of happiness would quickly become too much for the neighbors. Sometimes I think I am going to miss the rambunctious Axel. However his new found manners will result in far less bruises. Now I need to get neighbors in line. They also helped him be comfortable and calm around other dogs. They knew exactly what to do. The facility is very clean and spacious and they kept Axels safety in mind even in the 100 degree August weather. The trainers started work with him at 5 a.m. before the oppressive heat. Owner training included weekly pack walks, a visit to a restaurant with etiquette reminders, and one on one training with the owner.

Our Training Journey with Advance Canine Developments Mark,…read moreHayley, Erica, and Ali, we wanted to take this time to express our heartfelt thanks for the exceptional service and dedication that all of you provided in training our dogs Mio and Enzo. Your expertise, patience, and dedication put us in a positive direction with both. When Mio came to you, he was grieving with the loss of his brother Tuffy. He was sad, aggressive, and lost. You helped him gain his confidence back and let him find his happiness again with us. We brought an eight-week-old puppy, Enzo to our home about a month after the loss of our 12 year old Shih Tzu Tuffy. The puppy is adorable but has some personality quirks that have challenged us. You gave us the tools and information to help us deal with his severe separation anxiety. It is a journey for both of us. Your approach to training humans is paramount in the success and journey of training dogs. The human part of the training is to set yourself back to "zero". We had to acknowledge that we knew nothing about the training journey we were embarking on. All the dogs and experience before is just what it was ...before! We are learning to use our experience and knowledge to apply to our puppy, Enzo, and our six-year-old Mio who are different dogs with different personalities. We are grateful for the positive impact you've had on both of our dog's behavior and our overall relationship. Mio and Enzo will continue their training journey with us and an occasional refresher back at the training facility at Advanced Canine Development! Regards, Jack and Bridget Pantaleo Punta Gorda, Florida

My Buddies Pet Care

We heard so many good things about My Buddies. Let me assure you, it's all true. That being said,…read moreour experience came with a bit of a journey....We began our relationship with My Buddies as soon as we got our Goldendoodle, Willis. He was just around 10 wks old. Initially we set up puppy training with a trainer that is not an employee of My Buddies, but offers his services at the place. The trainer, John, came equipped with an impressive resume. Unfortunately, the first few sessions, although informative, ended up with what we felt were a few snags that we tried to overlook, but eventually left us in a "stuck between a rock and a hard place" scenario. In short, we felt the first 3 sessions were simply repeats of each other. As well, Willis was full of energy and unrelenting in his need to simply PLAY, rather than learn. But we paid for training specifically for puppies, and understandably, it's not exactly cheap. A couple other minor issues left us wondering what to do, yet we still felt like somehow we were missing out on John's talents. So we put it off hoping the answer would come to us. More on the resolution to this later.... Next, we decided to start day care for Willis which again, comes highly recommended. We wanted him to burn energy and also to simply learn how to be a dog by being around other dogs. Being protective of him, we were very glad to see they have puppy-cams in each day care room. We were sad to learn that the puppy room (where Willis would begin his day care) doesn't have a working camera, and still doesn't. But we went with our gut and took him anyway. After the first day, we picked Willis up and soon realized that he was pretty dirty (honestly, he was really a mess. We bathed him as soon as he got home and what ran down the drain was pretty troubling). But don't let that scare you! Please read on.... My initial gut reaction was frustration and wondering that if he got so messy without care to clean him up before leaving, was he being supervised during the day and if not what if something worse happened and it went unnoticed? But I calmed myself and contacted My Buddies the next day to discuss it. I wanted to make sure they knew what happened so they could be aware for their other clients. We had decided we would not bring Willis back no matter how highly recommended they are as we had concerns. That's when My Buddies did what every dang business should practice if they want to be successful. They LISTENED to our concerns and they made a TRUE effort to remedy the situation.... I spoke with Christine who literally runs the place like a champ! Professional, personable, and savvy when it comes to her business. She heard me out, expressed her concerns with the situations we described, and immediately began to offer solutions without expectations that we were somehow obliged to take her up on them. You could really tell she cared. That being said, we didn't know if we would return. What she offered was not blind compensation, but instead offered remedies to the problems IN DETAIL without compromising the integrity of her business. Honestly, if the rest of the business world would take a lesson from her actions, there would be much happier consumers out there..... We decided to give it another try. We haven't looked back since and Willis can not WAIT to get to day care!! They make Willis (and us) feel special. Not just Christine, but all of her staff..... Since then, we decided to resume training with John, still feeling he has the skills to help us. Willis now older, was very responsive and boy, were we impressed! The latest training we received was met with results that truly pleased us... We look forward to continuing our relationship with My Buddies as well as with John. As with so many others, we HIGHLY recommend My Buddies!!

When we got them back they went from completely untrained to trained in every way! Door manners, in the car, on the leash, and other basic commands, you name it! They were crazy about food and now they will sit in front of food and wait to eat it when they are told. It's amazing! We then brought them back for a tune up when our son was born. It was awesome knowing they were with people who knew them and loved them. Our dog Charlie ran and jumped in the lake immediately! Happy as can be. A huge shoutout to Derrick! When our son was born 4 weeks early he went out of his way to pick our dogs up when we were stuck at the hospital. He truly loves the dogs and cares about the families. You can tell this is his passion and it shows through his work! Lastly, Anthony has been fantastic to work with throughout too! Due to him and Derrick we will continue bringing our dogs back here when we need boarding knowing they are in the BEST hands. If you're looking for a great training facility with the best people, look no further. You found them!

Grooming Services- I arrived a few minutes early,…read more She was just finishing up a grooming. I watched the pups at both stations were calm and cooperated with the Pet Stylists. Commented on their behavior- Wondering to myself - this is going to be an experience- my pups run when this see the brush in my hand, and not a fans of confinement. I tried to give her a heads up. I have a 3year old Pomsky - she rules and controls most situations. The Siberian Husky in her demands that, the Pomeranian in her just adds to watch me - lol And I have a 10 month Samoyed, Shes a big girl already weighting in at 39 pounds. She also demands attention and they do make some commotion at times. Between the two She will be more likely to cooperate with the stylist. I joked and said which would you like first the excited and wild or happy all I want to do is be in your face? Allisyn chose the wild Pomsky. They were only getting a their nails trimmed. SAMMi went along turning her head to see if I was there, but went to table station. Table had many leashes and hooks to help keep the pups in place. SAMMi was challenging, trying to take back her paws, but she her was able to trim her nails down in no time at all. STEVi was next, she didnt look back - went along to the station. These stations were designed to keep them standing and in place to make the stylist job somewhat smooth and timely. STEVi figured out how to sit and have her nails trimmed. I watched and was amazed at the controll, patience and skill she had when handling my puppies. Well - ALLISYN is a dog whisperer. Happy to say it went well. No issues at all. Done in 30 minutes. Price was more than reasonable, compared to many. As for PetSmart - store was clean, well stocked and organized. I would recommend ALLISYN for your pups in need of a nail trimming- thats the only service here I can comment on.
