When we got them back they went from completely untrained to trained in every way! Door manners, in the car, on the leash, and other basic commands, you name it! They were crazy about food and now they will sit in front of food and wait to eat it when they are told. It's amazing! We then brought them back for a tune up when our son was born. It was awesome knowing they were with people who knew them and loved them. Our dog Charlie ran and jumped in the lake immediately! Happy as can be. A huge shoutout to Derrick! When our son was born 4 weeks early he went out of his way to pick our dogs up when we were stuck at the hospital. He truly loves the dogs and cares about the families. You can tell this is his passion and it shows through his work! Lastly, Anthony has been fantastic to work with throughout too! Due to him and Derrick we will continue bringing our dogs back here when we need boarding knowing they are in the BEST hands. This is a zero star review as I'm unable to put zero in. We took our golden retriever there to be…read moregroomed. This was the second time we used Petco for our golden retriever. The first time the groomer pulled out an example of fur length. I found an extremely confusing since I had a golden retriever, and they have several coats of fur. They simply can't get that short. They still cut the chest and belly very very, very short, basically shaved his belly. We went back the second time two weeks ago same groomer same example of hair length than the beginning. He asked me are you just here for a trim and bath? I said yes the trim last time was fine except last time you cut his belly too short and I need you to keep it longer. He came back and told me he would leave it long so that when we picked up the dog, we could determine if it needed to be any shorter on his chest and belly. Amazingly, he shaved my entire golden retriever all the way down. There are bald spots under his legs all over his belly chunks taken out even if I asked for a complete shave. This was the most horrendous thing I've ever seen.. I filed a complaint several weeks ago and was told I would get a follow up in a day or two I'm still waiting. I followed up with them again today and I'm really to the point that they're not gonna do anything. They asked us to follow up with the store so we did. The groomer himself answered the phone while my wife asked for the manager. He disappeared and left her on hold for about 10 minutes before she hung up and called the manager back a half hour later the manager still had no idea that my wife had called as the person that took the call never got his attention according to the manager, but the manager responded back with knowledge of the grooming, which led us to believe that he didn't fact already know. The person trains groomers I believe her name was Shannon took over and said absolutely the groomer screwed up. He should never take out hair samples for length for a golden retriever and every groomer is thoroughly trained and understanding that golden retrievers don't get shaved down and that they should've questioned if that's what he thought. Yet here we are it was so bad that we asked them to watch the video because we were concerned about how the entire cut went since there was huge chunks taken out under his arms pits, etc. they told us everything was fine. He was treated well yet he came home like he had been through a war. The head groomer told us that the groomer Curtis had problems with bad cuts before and they would add this to the list and document it. That's mind blowing to me because she claims he is thoroughly and totally trained which I find very hard to believe. Shannon, the head groomer is clearly protecting the store. Corporate keeps telling us to contact the store yet the resolution is nothing. After contacting the store they went from. This is absolutely unacceptable. He did the wrong thing he's done it before two and it's just a bad cut. We'll talk to him while I have Vet bills in the possibility of some serious problems with the hair growth back for a golden retriever. It'll take six months to a year before it all comes back with vet bills and I was offered 10,000 points on the app

Advanced Canine Development did a wonderful job with fixing Axels overwhelming reactive behavior…read more They are the best trainers by far. Axel had been to at least 4 other trainers unsuccessfully before here. He had been to another board and train camp for a month and Advanced Canine Development trainers results far exceeded that place. Axel was very reactive and his 160 pounds of happiness would quickly become too much for the neighbors. Sometimes I think I am going to miss the rambunctious Axel. However his new found manners will result in far less bruises. Now I need to get neighbors in line. They also helped him be comfortable and calm around other dogs. They knew exactly what to do. The facility is very clean and spacious and they kept Axels safety in mind even in the 100 degree August weather. The trainers started work with him at 5 a.m. before the oppressive heat. Owner training included weekly pack walks, a visit to a restaurant with etiquette reminders, and one on one training with the owner.

Your expertise, patience, and dedication put us in a positive direction with both. When Mio came to you, he was grieving with the loss of his brother Tuffy. He was sad, aggressive, and lost. You helped him gain his confidence back and let him find his happiness again with us. We brought an eight-week-old puppy, Enzo to our home about a month after the loss of our 12 year old Shih Tzu Tuffy. The puppy is adorable but has some personality quirks that have challenged us. You gave us the tools and information to help us deal with his severe separation anxiety. It is a journey for both of us. Your approach to training humans is paramount in the success and journey of training dogs. The human part of the training is to set yourself back to "zero". We had to acknowledge that we knew nothing about the training journey we were embarking on. All the dogs and experience before is just what it was ...before! We are learning to use our experience and knowledge to apply to our puppy, Enzo, and our six-year-old Mio who are different dogs with different personalities. We are grateful for the positive impact you've had on both of our dog's behavior and our overall relationship. They told us we would be the 3rd owners! We had known Tom from his being an Usher at the Cathedral for 30 plus years.. I knew both he and wife had shown their dogs at dog shows for years, but learned that they have a successful training business... I signed us up for his beginner class and can't tell you how great of an experience it was... Our dog became by far the best trained, most obedient dog we have ever had..Just an absolute joy to be around.. I strongly recommend Tom and Sherry to help you make the very best of your furry freind..

My dog scared people and their dogs because he wanted to meet and play with everyone and is 80 lbs of happiness and exuberance. Tom gave me and my dog higher standards to meet so I gained better control of him. He improved greatly and now it is easy for us to walk past people, including people with a dog. We can even make it past squirrels, rabbits and birds. The only negative was that Tom would often repeat advice, which was a bit boring. I would still recommend his class to a friend.
