If you need easy services done, VIP is a fine option but expect a long wait. The first time I used VIP I waited 2 hours for an inspection. I assumed it was just a busy day, but then both times my tires have been changed over they took a full day to do it, even when I said I needed my car earlier. Their communication and customer service skills can be improved. read more

Good location for lots of services on your car, but they would not pass an inspection that was clearly fine. There was no safety issue from this either, to their credit they did waive the service charge, but maybe they could be a little better with working with the customers. read more

I installed lower an arms in my truck and brought it to VIP to get it alignment done. i was expecting a 140 dollar bill. They proceeded to call me and telling me I cross threaded the bolts and it could not be aligned properly without get new hardware which they wanted to upcharge me $70 per bolt kit. Quoting me almost $700 to get my truck done. I couldn't afford this and honestly it didn't seem right. So I told them to stop and I took my truck somewhere else with a great reputation and they had me all done within two hours for the price of just an alignment no new hardware needed. I went to get an inspection a month ago and mentioned that my front end was shaking. They did they inspection, flagged my brakes, charged me almost 600$ to fix the front breaks, and sent me on my way with a passed inspection. Today I went somewhere else to get a balance hoping that the shaking would stop. They put my truck up and told me that my cv axels were completely shot, unsafe to drive on atall, and that they are visibly ruined. I called vip back to ask how this was missed, and the person I spoke to was rude and defensive. I have heard bad thing about vip tire, but I can confirm they are not a professional establishment and you should save your time and money and go anywhere else. read more

I always order my tires off of Tire Rack and VIP Tires & Service is one of their preferred locations for delivery and installation. I called about a week later to see if the snow tires I had ordered had arrived and they had, so we set up an appointment. The day of the appointment, they promptly put them on the vehicle and then let me know to come back for a free lug nut tightening after 100 miles. I left and the tire pressure sensor went off, so they checked them for me again immediately. They said it might be an issue with my regular tires in the vehicle and to come back if it continued. It did continue, so I came back another time and they were able to refill the one tire. I came back another for the lug nut tightening. No charge either time, of course. I've also had an oil change done here. It's pricey, but I think oil changes have gone up everywhere. All-in-all, good service. read more

VIP Tires has what appears to be a convenient online site to make an appointment. However, it turns out that that's not what it is. After thinking I was all set with an appointment the next day, I found out the next morning (as I was getting ready to head there) that "Due to high volume, our shop will not be able to accommodate your appointment request." (Apparently it was my fault for not understanding the nuance between making an appointment and requesting an appointment.) I've since talked to someone else who had the same thing happen with an appointment they thought they had made online. I don't understand what the benefit is for the customer to have times available to sign up online if they aren't actually times that are available??? read more

I had 2 appointments. First I drove 30 mins to be turned away. 2nd appointment that was scheduled at 3pm didn't leave until 7. What's the point of making an appointment if I'm going to sit and wait 4 hours? No apology or explanation. Terrible service. There is better tire services out there! If there was ever a place that l could not say enough GOOD THINGS about, it is undoubtedly, the VIP TIRES & Service on Essex Road in Williston, Vermont. The staff there is only too happy to help customers. My son had a puncture in his truck tire and removed the tire himself and we took the tire to VIP - there, the technician was pleasant and accommodating . (Inquiry at the VIP Tire Service on Shelburne Road yielded the response of being swamped and unable to handle the job, and referred us to the VIP in Williston.) I was delighted that VIP TIRE Service is open on Sundays; this helps out working people . My son inspected the tire and he was so happy at the exceptional job VIP TIRE SERVICE performed on the tire. Let me say that the puncture was an epic one and quite deep in the truck tire, and VIP staff are obviously true EXPERTS with tires, because the repair was flawless ! If there was ever a "Wall of Shame" posted at VIP, my son said that a picture of his truck tire puncture with a metal plate and a nail would qualify ! It looked almost hopeless to me. Avoid this place. I called with a quick question to see if they do tire rotations so that I could schedule it online with my oil change. I said "quick question" they said "please hold". Doesn't usually bother me to be put on hold, but I sat on hold for 20 minutes and no one ever came back. I hung up, tried calling again and this time no one picked up. Maybe they went to lunch?? We had a great experience with VIP. The service was professional and they gave our questions about our car serious consideration and thought. I think people need to remember that this is the "busy" season for their industry. As such, be realistic with them when planning your appointments. Expect some delays and be patient. My only critique is that I think they should hire more staff to keep up with calls, check ins, and other demands. They are a booming business and definitely need more help on some of the organizational/admin side of things. The gentleman up front is awesome and could use more help during these busy months. read more

I went to the Essex Road location to have an oil change and my winter tires put on my Subaru. Scheduling was convenient and the place is clean and comfortable. But it was just shy of $200 for those 2 things to be done. I know goods and services are increasing everywhere but it's hard to see $136 in labor charges when the car was in the shop for 70 minutes. read more

The other reviewer who mentioned them overbooking is exactly right. I booked an appointment online to put on snow tires and had written confirmation. I show up at my appointment time and they have no record of it - "the online system doesn't communicate with our paper system" is their lame excuse. They estimate a 2-3 hour wait. After that time ends, they say it will be 2-3 MORE hours. I took my car and will never go back. Incidentally, I was chatting with someone at the gas station next door who said they have a terrible reputation. Had nothing but bad things to say about his experiences there. read more

We ran over a screw and discovered our car had a flat tire on Saturday night. VIP was one of the few local tire shops open on Sundays. We brought the tire over Sunday morning and they told us we needed the "Keith Bell Special". Within 15 minutes the tire was patched and we were on our way. I recommend getting car inspected elsewhere. Took my not even two year old, low miles garaged VW. Was told it would take no more than 30 minutes. Almost an hour and half later was told my car failed because of some rust on exterior brake pads. Was charged $35 with no explanation. I had a misunderstanding with what I approved to be done to my car as part of getting a VT inspection sticker. Travis was the manager on duty at the time. We disagreed on what I had approved to be done to the car. I had dropped my car and Travis called me to get my approval of what needed to be done to the car. When I went to pickup the car it turned out they had done something I had not agreed to. Travis graciously offered to review the tape of our conversation to determine if there was a misunderstanding. A couple of days later I got a call from him letting me know that indeed I was correct and there had been a misunderstanding and that he would refund the amount of the work that I had not approved. Hey! It's snowing today! I would have had my new snow tires on two days ago, but VIP overbooks their appointments. I had an appointment for 3:30 (and had to leave work early). By 4:00, my car still hadn't gotten in, so I called my husband and he came to get me so we could get a bite to eat. VIP says it closes at 6:00, so I was dropped back off at 5:50, and my car HAD STILL NOT BEEN BROUGHT IN. I took my keys and left. Never again. read more

was told they would leave my keys in my car so I could pick it up when they closed. When I stopped in the car was unlocked but no keys were in it(searched for 20 minutes). Very unreliable and disingenuous service. They also couldn't resolve my issue or even help me find a reasonable low cost solution to my problem. I came to them with a flat tire and when they told me my spare set wouldn't fit I asked if they could just replace the broken valve on the one flat tire. They simply said no because the flat had been driven on then proceeded to try to sell me 4 new tires. (flat was driven on for less then a mile). I fixed the flat tire myself in their parking lot and drove home. There are plenty of tire places in town; would recommend going to one that shows that they care about their customers and not just taking their money and selling them stuff they don't need. read more
