I normally like this nail salon but today the man who was doing my nails was more concerned about the football game on the 2 screens and the scores on his tablet. I purchased a more expensive pedicure and it took so.long the water cooled twice and the hot stone massage was all of 1.5 minutes. The whole experience was a bit disappointing. read more

First time being a costumer here at the nail salon and i'm pleasantly surprised. I was seen by the young nail tech man and he was extremely nice and very knowledgeable of his nail work. he spent so much time on my nails making them just right, even though he had costumers waiting for him. he wasn't rushed and did my nails so pretty. he even gave me his nail instagram saying if anything happened to my nails to let him know. The tools are not clean!!! The same tools used on me were used on both customers next to me. My feet were also scrubbed so hard it hurts to walk. There are visible scratches on the bottom of my feet. While the pedicure looks fine and the people were nice it is not sanitary whatsoever! Would not recommend, take your money elsewhere. read more

Edit: it's been a week, and I still have no chipping or peeling I had the young gentleman do my nails. I got a gel manicure and pedicure and he did a good job. I'm new here and looked at the other places and took a chance with VIP nails and I wasn't disappointed. I had my nails done less than a week ago but because I was at work when it happened I got screwed. I got a full set done and first they were crooked but I had to go a d didn't have time to have the guy fix them well 3 days later just out of no where they just started popping off. I didn't do anything but set my hand on the counter and loss two nails the next day 3 more popped off well it took me two days to get back to the shop because I work the guy said 20 minutes he will fix them clearly seeing I'm missing 5 nails but when it was my turn he said to many nails will take to long and I had to wait another 45 minutes I waited a total of an hr and a half and it was still gonna be another 30 minutes he said I could make an appointment and come back another day because I couldn't wait any longer because I had to go to work I asked for my money back and he said he couldn't because I couldn't prove how it happened like wth I am so mad I know I'm only one person but that is $60 I'm out now it's hogwash GO SOMEWHERE ELSE if you don't wanna get screwed over like I did. And fyi I've been going there for years and they usually do such a good job that I only have to come in for a refill every 3 weeks and the first time they screw up I'm being called a liar and lost out on $60 all I wanted them to do was take 20 minutes and fix my nails so be warned read more

I went in on a Saturday morning 10 minutes after they opened and waited close to an hour for a waiting requested a gel polish on my toes and an eyebrow wax. (I know now to make an appointment.) I love the way my toes turned out! I got a quick gel polish, they were out of the original color I picked () but she offered a comparison that wasn't as bright but I still loved it. The massage chairs were comfy and relaxing while I was being taken care of, I didn't get the nail techs name unfortunately. But I'll definitely as for her next time. After my polish change was done, I was taken to the back by another lady who cleaned up my eyebrows but was SUPER ROUGH with my face. When she tilted my face to get each eyebrow, she would push my head from side to side. After pulling the wax strip off, she would apply pressure with what felt like her whole body weight in that area she waxed. My eyebrows look good and cleaned up though! Overall, I'd definitely go back but ask for a different eyebrow waxer. read more

I made an appointment for myself and 2 friends to each get a mani/pedi. We were seated apart the entire time; when we set this time as girl time to hang out. My nail tech did not know how to do a flower and was very rude and pushy when I requested matching fingers and toes. The nail tech at the pedicure station next to me accidentally turned on the water and sprayed me from head to toe. I was soaked by the time he got it turned off. They didn't even offer a discount until we said something about it. Lastly, I was surprised and upset that there was so much space between my gel nail polish and my cuticles. The lady that did my nails was very sweet but she did not do a very good job. I was one of two people In there so they definitely weren't rushed. The first thing that made this a bad experience was when she was picking out the fake nail tips, they were all too big for my fingers and when she did my left ring finger it looks like it's pointing up like it's lifting. Then when applying the acrylic powder it was literally burning my nails. They were hot to a touch. She also filed down the fake tips before putting the acrylic powder on so it was very uncomfortable. I asked for a coffin style and pretty much received just a long square shaped. While doing each of my fingers she would hold my finger still with her pinky and she had an extremely sharp nail that was digging into all my fingers, that was the most painful of it all. She applied several thick layers of gel polish which gives it this "bubble" look which I do not like, maybe I'm just picky. It's very uneven. The nails are uneven, some are NOTICEABLY longer than others. To top it all off she never had me wash my hands.. I have never had my nails done where I did not need to wash my hands. But I mean they don't look absolutely terrible, I definitely won't be going back. The price was great though. read more

This salon is clean and has a large collection of nail polishes to choose from. The lady that did my spa pedicure ($23) was very friendly and did a great job on my nails. What I didn't really enjoy was that I sat in the chair soaking for a good 20 minutes before they were able to assist me. I wish they would have told me to come back instead of sitting there getting wrinkly toes. So that's where they lost some stars for me. Otherwise, I would recommend getting an appointment. From the outside it looks shady and not so clean but once you go inside it's actually pretty clean and big. Their nail color selections is alright, nothing too crazy. I did the Hawaiian Breeze Pedi (I believe) and it cost me $35, which was a little expensive but it wasn't your average just simple pedi. The staff was friendly. They do offer a mani & pedi for $35 which is pretty good, will be trying that next time. I was satisfied with my pedicure. read more

VIP nails is great, they have awesome staff who are very friendly and I am able to hold great conversation with them. They can be very busy but that's because so many people go to them so if you are able to call ahead I definitely recommend doing so. I would say that their prices are standard compared to other nail salons. Also they are closed on Tuesdays but open every other day during the week. read more

Really bad customer service from the male that works in the front of the salon. I walked in and was asked what service I wanted, so I answered "an eyebrow wax". He responded "things are taking too long come back tomorrow." Why would you even ask what service I want when the thing that I wanted in the end takes not even five minutes. And I'm willing to wait (I've waited over an hour at this place for a wax before!) Hopefully this will lessen your customer load, because I'm not coming back at all. read more

I keep my toenails short because I run and hike... so when the gentleman saw that he couldn't trim them because they were already short, he did proceed to file them- only he filed my skin too and it hurt. Then he pushed the cuticles back and clipped them ...and me and it hurt & bled. Then he did a leg rub. guess what it? it was a little too aggressive and it hurt. To add the final irritation ...they have no nail dryer. so one sits in that uncomfortable pedicure chair for a time to allow the poorly applied nail color to dry... while he chats on the phone. I finally just got up, paid and left. and I am an idiot.. I did leave a tip but I will never be going back there. read more

I wanted a relaxing morning and decided to get a pedicure. I've never been and thought I'd try it out. The selection of colors is good, the atmosphere is relaxing, the chairs give good massage. Everything about my pedicure was great and I'm happy with the results. So, why 3 stars? It was only after I was in the chair that I discovered there isn't a real "menu" for a pedicure. I didn't want a $50 experience. I wanted a $25 experience, and it just wasn't clearly available. Don't get me wrong, I got a lot of great things for $50, I just didn't want to spend that much today and didn't see another choice. Great if you want to splurge, though. read more

Did an alright job. Me and my boyfriend went in for pedicures. He loved his (no polish) but mine was not so great. The polish was streaked and patchy and omg the chairs were so uncomfortable. The worst customer service. I came in to have my eye brows done, each time I have left to find better service elsewhere. They don't value you as a customer if your not looking to get a mani/pedi. I would have gladly came back for mani/pedi had they valued me. The owner or manager will either tell you to wait 15 minutes and you'll end up waiting maybe 30 minutes. I went to VIP Nails in Alamorodo today! Owners husband did my nails, I am wearing the worst set of nails I have had in 35 years of wearing nails! If I could give 0 stars I would. I have had many bad experiences here, but today I came in just to take off my acrylics and I have been put off to the side multiple times. The only lady working here has taken care of 3 customers while making me wait while soaking my nails. It DOES NOT take an hour to take off acrylics. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Nope.... Nope!! First and last time coming here. I was in a pinch and needed a pedi.. The guy that did my pedi didn't really seem to know what he was doing throughout the whole experience. He cut my nails soooooo short and kept filing and snipping here and there. I was distracted on my phone so bad on me to notice at first.. I did however realize how short they were when he started to file and it hurt LIKE HELL! Then came the acetone to start painting, tears were brought to my eyes..
