Qnails is located in a small plaza right off the main road of White Sands Blvd. There are a few other businesses in the plaza so there isn't a lot of parking but I'm always able to find a space. I opted for the deluxe which comes with everything the basic does plus a scrub, marine mask, and hot towel wrap. Amy did my pedicure. She was attentive and pleasant! She did a pretty good job with my cuticles and polish, which are 2 things I'm very particular about. As far as pricing, it was pretty expensive, $98 after tax and tip, not to mention I did bring my own gel polish. It was later brought to my attention that the deluxe pedi with gel is advertised as $60 on their menu so I'm not sure why I was charged $75 before tax and tip. Overall, I was satisfied with my service. In the future, I'll ask to soak longer since it was pretty quick from the time they filled my bowl and I put my feet in the water until the time she began my pedi. read more

I went in for a new color and to touch up the nail shape. I immediately noticed Tommy wasn't there but I also had not been there for nails services in a very long time. The tech that took me was not very talkative but I was ok with that. However, once I explained to him what I needed, color change -no fill- and to touch up the shape. Back story, I had just had a refill the week before but I was wanting a new color. What he did say tell me is that, when he painted my nails it would be bumpy and when I went to go pay he didn't want to hear me complain about. He burned the side of my finger with his tool and pushed my hand away each time he wanted me to put under the light. It was just a very off putting experience which I've never had there before. Never do your eyebrows here, lady messed my eyebrows up and dropped wax on my hair.. to add on to that they went from it being 12$-15$ without any consideration of the poor service. I did a pedicure here as well and it didn't last at all. It is overpriced and poor customer service. read more

When I got there, they were way over booked, and I sat for a while before going to a chair. They started soaking my nails. I sat there with my nails soaking for over 30 minutes. I came in with long, natural nails that had powder dip on them. Almond shape with a little bit more of a point them. Very natural looking. The guy asked if I wanted them cut down and what shape. I said please cut down a TINY bit and same shape I have now, almond shape with more of a point. He immediately cut my natural nails very short. I was shocked. I thought, let it go. Not the end of the world. He then starts to file them down even more. So much so he was sanding my skin on the top of my finger. That's how short they were now. I was speechless. He asked if the shape was okay. They were oval. I said almond with a little bit more pointy tip, like I had. He then files them into a sharp triangle with a needle point tip. Asks if they're okay, no, I said no. But what can you do about it? My nails are gone. He tries to argue with me. I said, I'm not arguing with you. Let's just get this done so I can get out of here. He starts dipping powder. I chose 165, a burgundy with hints of golden shimmer. The color he's filling is orange. I think, wait until the final coat and the true color comes out. Sure enough, he puts top coat on and they are brown rust. I asked to see the book. I show him it's not even the color I wanted. Nor the shape or length I wanted. I said, "I'm not trying to be an asshole but this is terrible. Why ask customers what they want if you're going to do whatever the hell you want to do which is NOTHING like what they requested?" The old lady next to us says, come back tomorrow and we will fix it. Why the hell would I ever go back there? Worst experience at a nail salon in my life. I'm stunned. Angry. Save yourself the trouble and find a place that cares, listens, and actually has professionalism and a welcoming attitude, the first time. Bathroom is disgusting. No tools were cleaned or soaked after use. He sanded my cuticle and made me bleed with the drimmel tool. If they are making people bleed, they should dispose of those sanding tips and clean tools. I went in to Q nails to get my nails fixed. I have been getting my nails done since I was 16 now 39. Never have I ever had an issue with the gel polish coming off like it was melting. I suggested to the male tech who sits next to the podium that his polish may be old and I need to get my nails fixed. He then said manicures only last 2 weeks. And I would have to get a whole new manicure. I then stated no I've never had this issue before its not with my manicure its with the polish and I've never had to get a new manicure every 2 weeks. Im always able to go 4 to 6 weeks. My nails grow very slowly. He took a look at them and said you filed this one, and the damage is your fault. Then proceded to yell at the whole salon that it would be nice to only have to get a manicure once every 6 weeks wouldn't it? Super embarrassing and unprofessional in my opinion. I was in the process of picking out a new color since he stated the only way he could fix my manicure was to give me a whole new one. While sitting at his desk he then continues to tell me the damage to my nails was my fault as he sanded 3 nails off. At this point I was very frustrated and felt embraced as it was, so I asked him if I needed to go somewhere else. He threw his tools down on the desk where my hands were and got up and walked Away. I have been here several times and they always do a very good job except for today. I had a pedicure and nail tech kept painting my cuticles. He would use his nail to clean it up and this really hurt digging into my toes and told him so several times. When he would clean up the nail, he'd mess up another one. After 2 hours and 20 minutes, I called the manager over. He even pointed to one of the toes that didn't look good. No other techs were available so just had the polish taken off and left. Manager came after me in the parking lot and said I had to pay for pedicure. He accused me of not liking the color which wasn't the case at all, it was obviously a very bad paint job. Q nails Guy at register very rude. He usually sits at first chair. I'm a nurse and I asked if I could have my nails filed because the corners were extremely sharp, which would cut my gloves. I even offered to take a little cheapy file home. Guy at register very rude. He was saying I have to speak up and people like their nails like that. I stated I've had my nails done here before they are never left this sharp. Then he started talking about me to other staff. So I said please don't do that. I have been putting off getting my nails done as long as I can (mostly because we take frequent trips back home so I get them done there) but I finally gave in the other day and I was pleasantly surprised! Walked in, waited about 30-45 minutes before sitting down. They have 3 options for pedicures: $25, $35, $45. Men have an additional $5 charge & gel is an extra $15 charge. They have cash discounts... however I don't understand how that works. I got a $25 pedicure, $15 for gel, then $25 gel manicure so $65 total. I paid cash, and my total was still $65. So maybe they mean they will charge extra if you pay with a card, like there's a fee associated with it. Or it's taxed. I don't know. I chose the $25 option pedicure & my nail lady literally set a wound up timer for 25 minutes and made a point to show me that's how long my pedicure would last. Lol. That was interesting... never seen that one before. The polish turned out good, the exfoliating scrub was nice. Coffin shaped & pointy nails have an additional $5 charge. I just got a gel manicure. Which if you look in my photos, both my thumbs bled. The polish turned out looking really nice though. All in all, the place was very busy on a Friday. People constantly in & out. I did a mani/pedi with massage, mint scrub, paraffin wrap. Staff were nice and timely. Things took a turn when I bled non-stop after the tech cut my cuticle too close to the skin. They disinfected a lot and seemed embarrassed about it. Gel polish became raised and started chipping within 4 days rather than the 3 weeks it should last. I have never been so disappointed with my service and I've been getting my nails done for 27 years. I had to ask for my eyebrows to be redone. my toes look like my five year old niece did the nail polish on them and not sure why but when I asked for extremely square nails they seem to have thought I said square with round sides. I have been doing the same process for years, Gel Extensions with nail forms. I don't like the plastic tips used. From the get go of describing what I would like done I was being pushed away.
