This is place is a class act. Very professional barbers, mike did my cut, he did an excellent job, and was very friendly and talkative. He also used hot shaving cream and a straight edge razor for the hair on my neck, something I've never experienced before. He's one of the best barbers I've had, and I'll definitely be back. He is understandably booked out a week or two, so make sure you call in advance for an appointment. I've been looking for a good place to get my haircut for a while, and this is it. Went in on a Saturday for a walk-in and there were two barbers working and two people ahead of me. The wait was decently long, maybe about 45 minutes, but I didn't have an appointment so I couldn't really expect anything else. Once I finally got in I understood why the wait was long: they absolutely care about your hair. They take their time, double checking with you along the way, and make sure it's perfect before you leave. I'd happily wait again just because I know that they care about their customers. Plus, for $12, it's probably the cheapest and best place to get your hair cut in Alamo. I've had multiple friends recommend this place, and I'm going to do the same. read more

I just moved from Alamogordo and can say that I'll miss Kate and the fellas at this barber shop. I was stationed there for 3 years and I got my hair cut every other Saturday for the length of my assignment. Superb service coupled with excellent fades and attention to detail make this the place to get your haircut. Let me say this first: if you don't make an appt and choose to wait, don't complain about the wait times. I went in with my son as a walk in. We waited an hour before another gentlemen went in to work with the other two barbers. This is completely understandable as there were 3 people ahead of us and we didn't make an appt. The gentlemen cut my son's hair perfectly. The temperament and climate of the shop is very welcoming. The are great with all aged customers and listened to what style we were looking for. The straight razor the older crew which is a plus. My husband is now stoked to go here because of that. As another review states, they do accept cards, but it's from 1 barber who had the card reader on his phone. So while they so accept card, I would definitely bring cash. I believe it was $15 for an adult cut, and $12 for a child cut. read more

I took my 3 year old son to get a haircut here after reading the reviews on this place. There were a good amount of people but honestly I don't mind waiting if it means a great haircut. When it was finally our turn I walk up to the lady and she said she was only doing appointments but that one of the guys could help us. Fair enough so we wait for one of the guys chairs to open up. The first one to become available was an older gentlemen at the first chair. He immediately asked if I wanted a regular cut for my son because he couldn't do it. I attempted to show him a picture of what I wanted but he kept shrugging his shoulders saying he couldn't cut my sons hair. So that left Mike. As I was waiting for Mike to finish a family walks in and the older gentleman quickly offers his services but the parent of that child opted to wait. Rather quickly the woman who refused to cut my sons hair said she had a cancellation so she could help them. Never mind that we were still sitting there waiting. The reason for the two stars is because those two employees are horrible. Mike on the other hand gets five stars . He took his time with my son and made him feel comfortable. He gave him an amazing first big boy haircut and I am so thankful for Mike. I will return to this establishment but only when Mike is available. read more

Kate is the Best barber in town!! Not to down any other barbers in town because I have got some amazing cuts from others but with me it's also about consistency when it comes to my hair cuts. I have gone to Kate for about 8 years now and she cuts my hair the same way every time (if that's what I ask for) and can accept a challenge of a new style like a champ. She's extremely professional, knowledgeable and kind, as well as available when I need her. This is a big thing as a barber as sometimes u need a cut in a crunch and for the most part if she can she finds the time to fit me in to her schedule. Go to Kate and you won't be disappointed and will most likely replace your old barber. Also her shop is extremely clean and the others that work there are very pretty professional as well ..
