Our first loan took a turn when we were declined due to one of us being a contract employee. Worse, the first lender we went to flagged the loan with FHA so VIP also had to deal with that. The process was pretty easy for us even with all of that and we were finally able to close. However, when I went to set up electronic payments, I couldn't find anything anywhere to set it up. I contacted support and was advised VIP doesn't have an electronic payment option. In 2019. You have to pay by check. In 2019. Although our experience was good overall, we're going to refi asap to a mortgage company that lives in this century. read more

Had 6 months to work on my new build. 4 weeks out I'm asking Ashlee for rates and break downs on a 30 year fixed mortgage. She says she'll get back to me. 4 days later I follow up with her. I express my dissatisfaction to her over the phone. I asked her if she could match another competitor's rate, who was able to offer me the rate with one document. I offer the same document to Ashlee and let her know until she has the end of the day to "beat the rate" (as she would always tell me). I don't hear back from her. 5 days later she tells me that they will do a hard pull AFTER I had already went with another lender. read more

They swooped in when our other loan went South and from start to finish and in just 3 weeks time, got us approved and closed our loan. The team was always available, we never felt like an inconvenience, which is how our other Lender made us feel. They know the business of lending in and out, and had anticipated any possible hurdles well in advance so we weren't left scrambling to provide documents. VIP appears to be a very personable and professional organization at first, but when the brokers are ALWAYS on vacation they leave untrained junior staff to do the job, and mistakes happen. Our interactions with VIP Mortgage were great at first. Expectations were laid out nicely and we had a good idea of what was expected from us during the pre-closing process. As the closing date neared the nightmare began. I lost track of how many individuals we talked to at VIP, and oddly enough, the one person we never talked to was the original mortgage broker. Multiple people were asking for the same information or asking questions I previously answered. A few days prior to closing we received the last form we were required to sign which included the amount needed from us at closing. I reached out to VIP to ensure the amount would not change and that I could order the official check for closing. I was assured everything was set and the check could be ordered. The closing date soon arrived and we immediately discovered the amount owed at closing changed, fortunately for us it was better than expected. Despite the amount being in our favor, the hassle of ordering an official check and changing it was yet again another nightmare. Apparently the title company never saw the paperwork we signed or knew where the number we were given came from. I thought the debacle with the closing was the end. If only! Turns out VIP failed, and according to our homeowners insurance company, refused to make payment for our policy. Whether or not they refused payment or just failed to make payment I do not know. Bottom line is, due to no payment being received our policy was cancelled. We received the letter in the mail 3 days after it was cancelled and thank God nothing happened during those three days requiring coverage. There is no way I will go with VIP Mortgage Inc again or recommend them to anyone I know after going through this process. read more

Our experience working with John and Andy at VIP Mortgage was a nightmare. I will never use VIP again nor would I recommend them to anyone else. They did not explain the mortgage/home buying process they would be taking us through at all and they knew we were first time home buyers from the beginning. They would send us documents for our mortgage and expect us to just sign them and send them back. We wanted to know what we were signing before we did so and when we would call with questions they always seemed annoyed. There were several times we had to send them the same documents multiple times because they lost them. Communication throughout this process, both internal and external, was horrible. VIP would tell our realtor one thing, tell the title company something different, and tell us something else. Everyone had different information about what was going on, which made this whole process more difficult than it needed to be. The sellers were also extremely upset by how long this whole process took, since they were trying to close on their new house and could not do so until they closed on this one. VIP did not keep us updated about what was going on with our loan through the process. There were several very important pieces of information that VIP forgot to tell us until last minute. When I tried to address my frustration about the lack of communication near the beginning of this process, I was asked "do you want this loan to go through or not?" I was shocked by how rudely I was treated. They would not even listen to me and told me they didn't want to hear it. I was simply asking for better communication and for things to be explained to us and to be kept up-to-date on what was happening with our loan. We were also told that it was our responsibility to figure out the process and what was going on, it's not like we were given the information and had just neglected to read through it. We were 2 weeks late closing and the mortgage company kept telling us that it was our fault even though we had given them all the documents they requested from us in less than 24 hours. My husband called near the end of the process to try to figure out what the hold up was, he was told by Andy that "if you're looking for someone to blame you can point your finger at us but there are still three fingers pointing back at you, so blame yourselves." From the very beginning I would ask them several times a week how things were going with our loan and if there was anything they needed from us and I was always told everything was fine and they didn't need anything else. A week and a half before we were supposed to close on the house VIP all of the sudden wanted to throw all the documents together, they would send us something and ask us to date it several weeks back and then ask for it to be sent back immediately. VIP was finally able to get it together so we could close on our house over 2 weeks late and honestly I think I'm happier about that fact that we no longer will have to deal with VIP on a daily basis. I recently used Dan Beach to finance a new FHA purchase and during these tough times he was able to get me financed when many others could not. In fact, I am self employed and most could not even understand my tax returns and Dan was the only one that got back to me within 48 hours after he said he would. Our broker Brett Pastrrick was always talking and would not allow us to get one word in. My husband was so frustrated with every phone call that he handed to me and I had to ask him to shut up so I could ask questions. After all that he forgot to end our call and over heard him mocking me and calling me a "Hot headed Italian!" WOW! Every time we called he was screening his calls and was out to lunch. We were told that we were going to close on a Friday. We came out of town and had to find another hotel to stay at because everything was booked. We ended up closing 6 days later. Yes 6 days. Never did he offer to compensate or help us out. My husband and I were so upset with Brett's lack of effort to do his job or keep his word. I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt if he was going to somehow make us feel very important but he did not! After a month we heard from the owner of VIP Mortgage Inc. and he apologize for the behavior of this one employee. Keith was reassuring me that this behavior will be corrected. I believe that one should have the opportunity to correct ones personality. We should not give up on another human. Keith is planning to come out personally to introduce himself the next time I am in town. How any business have owners do that? In the end I am not upset with the company but disappointed in the employee. I am so happy that someone reached out to us and allowed us to explain. I applied in person to refinance two rental homes and the agent was so childish and unprofessional, I had to cancel both loans. While the rest of the office was visible in the board room, this yahoo and his pal next door were making unimpressive jokes about women and not knowing what HARP is. This is the guy whose crowning glory was apparently playing hockey in high school. Oh those glory days in high school, the high point of your life from which you have yet to evolve. I went to another company, got timely low cost refi on each, and they made a life customer with plenty of repeat business. When you have to explain an advertised program to a mortgage broker, federal regs, and endure shameful women-hating comments as a form of dudebro self entertainment, that defines a horrible customer experience. read more

About all I can say is BEWARE! While Brett, the loan officer I dealt with has been nothing but nice, this company is AN ABSOLUTE JOKE TO DO BUSINESS WITH. I closed on time on 07.24.2014 as agreed, all was fine until after the closing. Now, every week for a month they have asked me for additional documentation, verification, and even documentation for things that were never discussed or asked for during the pre-approval and underwriting process in order for them to "sell" my mortgage to some other lender. Then try to threaten me via email when I refused to provide them this information. I am glad to hear that they actually do help some people who might not have gotten a mortgage elsewhere from the previous reviews, but they sure don't know how to treat an mid 700 fico score with above average income! I called and they have told me it's a loan home company, and the funny thing is I never applied for a home loan. I asked them how they got my informant in order for them to check my credit they said you have spoked to Gil and it was verbal application but sry he is not working for us anymore and I ask them to send me my recorded voice she said we don't record anything and I asked them to dispute the inquiry from my credit report since I never applied for, she said why would I do it since if was you.(RUDE). No Miss KAREN it wasn't me it is called IDENTITY THEFT Some one got my information and applied instead of me You stupid dumb people.
