The teachers are proficient and kind. They work with your children individually and give…read moresuggestions to practice at home if your child needs additional help outside of class. I have enjoyed having our twin boys at this school and appreciate that they are conveniently located.

I discontinued my swim lessons early given several unpleasant experiences with British Swim School…read more(BSS) of Melbourne. Wanting to begin swim lessons asap, I initially enrolled in Orlando BSS while waiting my turn on the waitlist for Melbourne which would shave an hour off of my commute for the 30 min lessons. Once I was next on the waitlist for Melbourne, I immediately enrolled in their monthly auto-pay and was told that since I had already paid a registration fee before with Orlando, that they could waive the registration fee. I canceled my Orlando swim lessons and began swimming with Melbourne BSS. After my first 3 lessons with BSS of Melbourne, all of which were with different instructors as well as 1 instructor and sometimes 2. I made a call to the office to seek clarification. I spoke to an Emma, who told me that I am only guaranteed "a" swim instructor and as long as I am given "a" swim instructor then having the same one was not necessary or promised. She then went on to say that the times I had 2 instructors I was simply fortunate. I found me asking without complaining, about the potential of 2 instructors for the multiple adult swimmer lessons both fair and feasible given the number of available adult instructors (some who which I had lessons with before), spending the full duration of my lessons having conversations and enjoying the adjacent jacuzzi. Emma then went on to state her accusations about me (which caught me by total shock!) because she claimed she could not verify my swim account with Orlando BSS she said that she would charge my card again for her registration fee "since I was not honest with them". I found this accusation to be more than offensive: 1) I was on a monthly auto-payment , 2) respectful to the instructors, 3) prompt to my lessons, on and again 1) on auto-pay. Affording the registration fee, was clearly not an issue or worth being referred to as a dishonest customer. I referred Emma and her rude customer service back to the recorded calls that BSS claimed to keep for "training and quality purposes", to better understand the status of the registration fee instead of challenging my honesty as a prompt paying customer. Following this phone call, Will an instructor cornered me entering the locker room after my next swim lesson and told me that I cannot change my clothes in the locker room unless I was a member of the gym. I found that interaction with Will to be oddly timed and also passive aggressive. The locker room Rules of Engagement were not briefed in the 2 minute orientation and at this time this was my 4th swim lesson including one of which was with Will himself, who previously did not inform me of the locker room situation. Other minor pain points which shown me I was not a valued customer and being retaliated against was when Will stopped my lesson momentarily to take photos with my instructor in his Batman attire on their superhero day (I am also not certain if I were in the photo or even gave consent to be photographed). All things considered, I would simply not recommend this school and especially to anyone who are concerned about the potential of micro aggressions. It is clear that they have plenty of swimmers on their waitlists do not feel the need to provide respectful and professional services.
