The atmosphere is really nice, relaxed and intimate with couches, chairs, and barstools for seating. There's a room upstairs, which we didn't get to but it looks fun with clouds on the ceiling. Downstairs, which there's a lift to, there's pool tables, darts, arcades games, more gender neutral bathrooms (all of their bathrooms are gender neutral which is awesome), and a cool room with a faux fireplace. We both got one of their limited edition Peach Dream mocktails and it was SO good! The bar service was great too. All around, it's a great time. They're also open in the mornings for coffee and they have some options like muffins and things for food. We hope to make it back soon.

The bass volume was two to three times higher that optimal. The result is that the base cover the vocals and most of the lead guitar solos. It was just a little "off" but the bass was wildly over boosted. If this were a dancing venue, such misguided sound management might have been forgivable. Unfortunately, this was a concert, where we wanted to understand the words and clearly hear the guitar solos. It's a really nice venue, for small concert listening. They need to hire a new sound person.

PROs: ++ The backdrop for the ceremony was lovely! With the large doors open the mountains made a gorgeous backdrop. ++ McC Ranch is just far enough to get away but not so far as to make the journey inconvenient. ++ Knowing that the space may be cold to some of us; they provided light blankets on each of the chairs to help keep the guests comfortable. CONs: -- The parking area isn't paved; in fact it isn't even really gravel. That being said it was a muddy mess to navigate. My Tori Birch flats are still caked with mud. -- The men's restroom is on the main floor of the space while the women's is upstairs. Just a weird layout to me. -- The space the ceremony/reception was held in was quite cold. Even with light blankets and an infrared heater running throughout most of the event! I'm not sure what other offerings McC Ranch has to offer, but I can say it's easily and "A-OK" wedding venue.

We, as Coloradans are blessed to have this unique and top-quality ranch right in our neighborhood, at the base of the Rocky Mountains. It has the finest viewpoints from red rock formations, canyon lands, a rushing river, a gorgeous, authentic ranch with multiple trails of varying lengths and endlessly pretty viewpoints, no matter the season. Staff have always been perfectly fun, engaging, safe, and accommodating. But I am definitely saving the best for last... the horses !!! I have never ever been disappointed in the horses I've ridden here. I'd tell you the names of my favorites, but I'll save that for you to find on your own. They are just how you hope they'd be. Healthy, well-cared for, strong, stable, and light to your requests. They are also light and sure on their feet even as they cross rocks, and all kinds of natural Colorado native brush. I fall in love with this place and my horse more every time I visit. This is your trail ride! This is your place! This is your horse making epic memories.

The not good: they struggle mightily to get food served. I mean every single meal. Every one. UNSAT. They know exactly how many guests they have yet run out of food so fast during service. It's ridiculous. The cabins. Sometimes 'old for the sake of being old' just doesn't work. Modern plumbing fixtures and plumbing are not the devil. Example: I don't need to experience 100 year old bathing experience in a cabin with a brand new air conditioner. Also - don't put quilts on the beds with a sign that says don't use the quilts as they're for decoration. Lighting: pick a lane. LED or Incandescent. Using both just looks cheap. Onsite maintenance support: having the bulk of the cabins with no water is a real problem. Not having people onsite to immediately address that problem is even worse. Trash: a little trash can in the room doesn't cut it. Either put out trash bins for people to use that can be secured or have your staff collect trash daily. Key drop: if you want cabin keys returned to the office then either have an employee there before 0830 or have a key drop slot. The potential is there for this place to do so much better. That said this trip had me stay in 4 different hotels. Sylvan Dale was far and away the most expensive rate and they rank last out of last of a spot we'd revisit. Note: I don't do the trail ride or any other activities so those don't factor in to my feedback. This is strictly about accommodations and hospitality.

As the officiant, the team did such a good job making sure my microphone worked and that I was comfortable with the set up (shout out Kevin!) and that I was shepherded to where I needed to be with humor and care.
