This place is well worth a long trip. In addition to tobacco baskets left from its old existence (on sale for around $5 each), the place is chock a block with furniture, tools and restaurant equipment. I bought a solid ash mid century modern table with expandable leaf and three chairs for $50. I also bought a solid pine Amish hutch that I am now using as a plant hutch for $125. Dave the owner also runs Golden Oak Auctions, and can help sell your old furniture and stuff. The Barn also hosts about a dozen antique merchants who seems to uniformly have high quality stuff. In fact, a couple of them have told me this is where they store and fix their stuff before they move it on to their antique stores in Maryland and Virginia. Overall, if you like antique shops and flea markets you have to go there. There is also an Amish stand with vegetables, fruits and cheese for sale.

Each time the doors were locked even though every online posting said it should be open. There was staff walking around inside in full view, but no one would come to the door. Decided to try again. It was a Friday, online postings said open, open sign on door said they would return at 8:05 (It was 10:15). Again, staff inside, but would not come to the door. Finally, someone drove up and knocked on the door. I asked if she worked there and she said yes. Asked if they were serving breakfast or lunch, and she answered no. No explanation. To bad, because we enjoyed the breakfast we had there, but there is no way we would return.

I was already in this area to take a peek at what they had to offer and the stores and selection varied a lot. Some places had low quality times for a high price, some had low quality for a low price, however this one was on the other end of the spectrum for me. The items here are of very high quality...with a price tag to match. That's not a bad thing in the least. But when you are just looking for a unique item to add to your living space without having to give much care to the thought of maintenance, this isn't the place for you. Walking into this place almost feels like you are walking into a partial museum. It is beautifully laid out and the pieces are so pristine that you almost feel hesitant to touch. The building is quaint and it can take some time to go through the building. There are two floors to explore with a ton of different items to look through. Trinkets to furniture for your picking. I did see many items that I loved just by looking at, but too far of a reach for my pocketbook. What I found extraordinary here was the customer service. After looking through their stock and not finding what I was looking for I had asked the lady working if there were any other places nearby to search. She went over the top and told of several places in the direction that I was heading. I was very grateful for her assistance and she wasn't wrong with her suggestions.
