We had a very disappointing experience with Ashley Nicole Fox of Vintage Place Settings in Chicago. We hired her to provide all decor, design, and table settings for a wedding event at our home and paid $4,000 upfront. Unfortunately, due to COVID-related circumstances, we had to cancel the event about 3-4 weeks in advance. Despite the advance notice, Ashley refused to return any portion of our payment. There was no willingness to offer even a partial refund, credit, or any kind of reasonable accommodation. What made this even more frustrating is that she did not actually lose the date. Our chef ended up using her services that same night for another event, so she still had work and income for that day. Even with that, she still kept the full $4,000 and made no effort to work with us. Communication felt rigid and unhelpful, and the entire situation was handled with little consideration or professionalism. If you are considering working with Vintage Place Settings, make sure you clearly understand the cancellation terms before paying and get everything in writing. Based on our experience, once payment is made, there may be little to no flexibility if plans change. We would not recommend this vendor. read more

This company requires a 50% nonrefundable deposit upfront. While we were initially excited to work with them, unforeseen circumstances forced us to cancel. We had placed our deposit just three months ago, and our wedding was still eight months away. Given the long lead time, we politely reached out to see if there was any possibility of receiving even a partial refund. We had to cancel several vendors, and this was the only one that refused to return even a portion of our deposit. Based on other reviews, It seems they provide a good service if you follow through with your booking. However, if there's any chance you may need to cancel, or if you're not 100% certain about using this vendor, proceed with caution. read more

On August 31, 2025, I attended a Ladies Night Etiquette class with VPS, and it was truly a memorable evening. The experience is one I would definitely do again. I had the chance to refresh skills I hadn't used in years and also learned new ones. Working with Coreen and Stacy at Vintage Place Setting was a dream. We hosted a 9 person Christmas dinner and wanted plates, glasses, and utensils that would make the people feel special. Mission accomplished. Vintage Place Setting gathers materials from estate sales so there's all sorts of mixing and matching they can do with really fun, novel stuff. They are very responsive and easy to work with, and I'm excited for our next event with them. I had a last-minute need for a very specific, fairly large collection of glassware for a business event. I called VPS and left a voice mail at 8:30 p.m. the night before the event. When I got home around 10:30 Coreen had already emailed me with all the details and photos of the glassware items she had fitting my various descriptions. The next morning, by 10 a.m., we had the whole thing wrapped up and ready to go. When I found out how much my caterer was going to charge for using disposable plastic dinnerware at my mother's 75th birthday celebration, I was determined to find a better option. I rented 50 place settings from VPS for our Art Nouveau wedding at the DANK Haus in Lincoln Square. Their setting elevated our wedding and made it look absolutely ethereal - the guests commented on how beautiful the settings were and how well it worked with the room. Their rental prices are EXTREMELY reasonable, and they totally understood the look I was going for. It was a pleasure to work with Stacy in planning a high tea baby shower for my daughter. Vintage Place Settings (VPS) has a variety of china styles to choose from. We wanted floral china and they supplied 32 place settings of mixed floral pieces. We used 3 tier stands on each table to serve our petite sandwiches and scones. Our dessert table had 2 tier stands, cake plates and individual plates to display our selection of pastries. We used vintage tea pots and cream and sugar bowls on each table. Stacy had good suggestions for additional bowls needed for the tea bags. We mixed some depression glass plates and bowls to compliment the floral china which looked great. Stacy sent photos of various pieces so we could do our shopping online. VPS delivered and picked up the china which was bubble wrapped and in small labeled plastic crates. They supplied all the china and serving pieces that we needed. I would certainly use VPS again and highly recommend them. read more

My husband and I used their vintage lace and damask tablecloths (all mismatched) and napkins for our wedding at Salvage One. The tablecloths were perfect in the space - several guests commented on them and asked where we had gotten them - and working with Coreen and Stacy was so easy and wonderful. When I came in, they already had place settings out at a table for me to look at and review based on the pictures I sent them and what I was envisioning for our wedding. I was worried that if I wanted to use Vintage China that I'd have a hard time finding something that wasn't pastel and didn't look like an "English Tea Party" -- but Coreen and Stacy knew exactly what our winter wedding needed, the kind of colors we should use, and the perfect combination of mis matched dishes to make it an elegant celebration.
