He started in their infant room and is currently in pre-k. Our youngest son (10 months old) just started in the infant room. The facility has always been clean, but since Covid began they have gone above and beyond to make sure our kids are safe. The cleaning and safety measures they have in place now are phenomenal! I would have to say my favorite part about Elk Grove Kindercare are the relationships our family has formed with the staff. It's extremely hard as a parent to have to leave your child for long periods of time. The staff at Elk Grove Kindercare have made leaving my boys a little less painful and I will always be grateful for them.

I want to start this review as a warning to other parents considering this KinderCare location,…read moreespecially if your child is on the autism spectrum. Last week, I toured the center and informed Angelina that my son has ASD. She suggested we do a trial day, which was scheduled for today. When we arrived, we waited about five minutes before someone named Gabby opened the door. She asked, "Is this the 4-year-old that's doing a trial?" but never asked for his name, whether he had any allergies, or if he was potty trained--basic information any center should ask upfront. I offered that information anyway, but it was never requested. Another red flag: before leaving, I was asked to jot down my name and number on a sticky note. I was confused because they should have already had that from our initial visit. Even more concerning--they never had me sign any kind of consent form, agreement, or emergency contact document before leaving my child in their care. That is not only unprofessional, it's unsafe. Less than 20 minutes after dropping him off, I received a call saying he was crying and trying to elope--something my son has never done before. They told me to come get him and said he wasn't a good fit. It felt like no one made a true effort to comfort or support him during what should've been an adjustment period. When I arrived, they took me to where my son was, in the very back in the corner. When I grabbed my son, and was walking out. I looked behind me and all the teachers stayed back. I had to go out my way to ask to speak with Angelina. I could tell I was being talked about, and the atmosphere felt extremely uncomfortable. When I expressed how I felt that my son wasn't even given a chance, Angelina shrugged and said it was a safety issue. I left feeling discriminated against and heartbroken. It's clear this facility either lacks the training to support autistic children or chooses not to. Either way, I strongly advise parents--especially those with special needs children--to look elsewhere. Your child deserves patience, preparation, and above all, respect.

I, for the most part rarely leave reviews, but seeing how the majority of the negative reviews have…read morebeen from over 3/4 years ago and the positive experiences both my son and I have had, I felt compelled to leave a review. I will admit that I had my reservations about Childtime, especially since I had already scheduled a tour for the one in Natomas, Childtime of Millcreek (DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT PLACE) and my parent intuition told me not to trust that place. Even though I had an appointment for the one in Natomas, it took about 15 minutes of multiple phone calls and ringing of the bell for someone to finally open the door and let me in. There was no apology, the staff member that answered the door was rude and seemed like I was burdening her. There was no tour or information given, I was just handed an application packet. It took longer for them to open the door to let me in than the "tour" I got. Once again this negative experience was for the one in NATOMAS. Already having a bad impression of any daycare associated to Childtime, my mom raved about the one in Elk Grove after she went to tour it and convinced me to check it out (she was helping me search for a daycare). I originally toured the one in Natomas because it's literally down the street from my work. The Elk Grove staff, from the moment we arrived were warm, happy and overall welcoming. They let my son test out the room he would be in while I got a tour of the place, they walked me down throughout the whole place, explaining what the curriculum would be in his class, and that of every classroom. I liked how their playground is shaded, and their little garden as well. After the tour, I was asked if I had any questions, and answered every single one of them without seeming annoyed by them (they were quite a few lol). After all my questions were answered, we walked back to the front desk, received a packet and went to get my son. He did not want to leave. I decided to enroll him, and while there are some mornings where he's not in the mood to attend daycare, he enjoys going to "school". Every morning as we're getting to the daycare he is excited and eager for "school" to play with his friends and learn. The other children are always happy to see him and on some days greet him with a hug. When I pick him up after work, he's always happy and tells me about his day. The updates I receive throughout the day from them with pictures, what he ate and how much, potty updates, and the overall communication received is an added bonus. Even though choosing this location adds a longer commute for me, it's worth it knowing my son is in good hands and learning. I've definitely seen milestone improvements in him, and love the fact that he enjoys working with puzzles. The only thing that I would like changed would be their method of announcing upcoming events. Sometimes they do post pictures in the app that updates us of our kids day, and other times they have it in a message board up front. But the board faces away from where the parking lot is, so parents have to remember to look at the board either before or after picking/dropping their kids to ensure they're informed of future events. I'd like it if we'd get a list of all the upcoming events for the year with reminders the month of.

More Than Just a Place to Drop the Kids Off…read more I've gotten the chance to see a few Merryhill Preschool locations around the Sacramento/Elk Grove area, and I have to say, I've come away pretty impressed. The biggest thing I notice is the overall atmosphere. The kids seem comfortable, engaged, and actually enjoying themselves. There's a nice mix of learning, play, meals, and activities throughout the day, so it doesn't feel like the children are just being watched until it's time to go home. There seems to be a real focus on keeping them active while helping them develop those early skills they'll need as they grow. And honestly, the staff deserve some credit too. Every location I've been around, the employees have generally been friendly and in good spirits. I've seen staff interacting with the kids in a way that feels genuine rather than forced. You can usually tell when somebody is just doing a job versus when they actually enjoy being around the children, and my experience here has been much more of the latter. Of course, every school and every location can be different, and I can only speak on the locations I've personally seen. But from my experience, Merryhill Preschool gives off a good first impression and seems to put a lot of attention into the children's day-to-day experience. If you're a parent looking around the Sacramento/Elk Grove area for preschool and want to see what they're about, I'd definitely say it's worth taking a tour and checking them out for yourself. Sometimes seeing the environment in person tells you more than any brochure ever could.

They make you feel comfortable and at ease when dropping off your little one here while you're at work. My daughter went here since she was two years old, up until she was four. The daycare is always clean and well maintained. The Pinesol smell could get a little strong sometimes, but they do keep the children away from it and air it out. Everything is great about this daycare except that the director, Ms. Patricia, can be unpleasant to interact with at times, although she was cool in the early beginnings. The staffing was a bit inconsistent as well. It seemed like there was a new teacher for the toddlers every so often when my daughter attended this daycare that we couldn't wait for her to turn 3 to move into Ms. Jane's class. Also, Ms. Jasmine is no longer at Early Beginnings which we were sad about. She was so friendly and nice! Will definitely come back if I ever need child care again.

The director, Ms. Patricia is rude, condescending and inconsiderate of the children's special needs. She wouldn't accommodate my son's sensitivity to the sun and offered no alternative solution. While on the phone with the owner Sara, I got teary eyed (I might have cried a little) as I realized from that conversation I had found my kids preschool. Fast forward 5 years later, my son graduated and goes to elementary school and my daughter still attends. The teachers are amazing. Toddler teacher Mimi is wonderful. She just gets kiddos, period. Ms Cheryl is still my son's favorite teacher. I could continue on endlessly about how EGMS has made the preschool experience so amazing.

There's so many other centers in Elk Grove (that take child action) please don't need to settle for this place. Sara the owner will gaslight your child before they take anything serious other than protecting her business. In it for the money, not for kids. Said my son was a liar for communicating the way his four year old brain knows how. She shouldn't be involved in childcare. She's a business owner & that's it, she needs to be in another industry. In the video where my son got hurt, an employee walks past as my son holds his eye and somehow no one noticed. No one investigated camera footage or filed injury reports or told his dad or me until I said something the next day (even though his eye was visibly red.) My son crawled towards a kid who accidentally poked his eye. Sara the owner said either my son poked himself or this other child did, because my son fast crawled towards him to headbutt him. My son crawled normally towards him and was clearly not trying to headbutt him, he was acting as a four year old would, going up to someone to play. His eye got poked and she was turning it around on my son as if it's his fault, rather than being a mature adult. He is four years old. The owner Sara said all these kids are like her kids, but she spelt my sons name wrong & I have never seen her. She said think about the other child and his mom, what about my son- the one who got hurt? No one said they were sorry my son got hurt or hoped he was okay. She disenrolled my son without ever asking about my sons eye. She does not care about a child more than her business. During the time he went there my son told me that he plugs chargers in the wall and that his teacher told him he will be fat if he doesn't workout. Other situations would happen and I would ask about them, not accuse. I would tell them what my son would tell me and ask about it. Every time I'd be told that "they didn't see or hear anything like that happen." Somehow no one sees or hears anything here. It's clearly a communication problem and/or not paying attention. I got attitude from his teacher before too, and when I brought it up it was just denied.
